6/21/2016 Ancestry.com - I am having great difficulty cancelling my account
I am having great difficulty cancelling my account with Ancestry. I started out thinking I was getting 1 month free and then 19.00 per month for as long as I chose to keep it. Instead Ancestry charged 169.00 to my card and it has been impossible to contact anyone to stop my service. Just this month they renewed the 169.00 again and I am now trying to reach someone - customer service - anybody to cancel. I have put a block on my card and filed a dispute with my card company about the recent 2nd 169.00 charge. This is tantamount to stealing. It is a rip off. I would not advise anyone to deal with this company

1/7/2016 Ancestry.com - Can I transfer Family Tree Maker Data from PC to Mac?
I have been a member of Ancestry for a number of years. I have continued my membership and the yearly fee has been charged to my credit card account without my permission. Again, this past December my membership dues have been charged to my credit card which has been paid.

I have contributed my family tree to be free to the public. I have changed my computer from a PC to a Mac. I cannot access my records that have been changed since my username and password is no longer recognized by Ancestry.

The original software I used was Family Tree Maker. I want to access all the information I contributed using my Mac Book Air.

Please advise as I don't want to purchase the software again.

9/26/2015 Ancestry.com - When I signed up for a 14 day trial period at
When I signed up for a 14 day trial period at $29.95/mo. I assumed that would be the total amount that I would be paying. I find, however, that I have been billed $29.95 EVERY MONTH since then! I have just spoken to an employee of yours on the phone and she informs me that when anyone signs up for a trial period, they are automatically billed forever after UNLESS they cancel. This is news to me because NOWHERE, NOT EVER was I informed that I had to pay for the rest of my life. This is very questionable business practice as far as I am concerned and I am asking for, and am entitled to, a refund. Period.
Thank you for your cooperation.

9/11/2015 Ancestry.com - The new version of Ancestry is very user unfriendly and loaded with annoying pop ups
The new version of Ancestry is very user unfriendly and loaded with annoying pop ups most of which is advertising your products. The ability to return to Available Hints after reviewing and accepting a hint is very annoying and time-consuming.

The first step of software development should be product improvement. The second step should be a single point of entry of data.]and the main point of user interest is it most be User-Friendly.

Simple Solutions are: re-activate the old version and hire a Software Design Manager that has a focus on user satisfaction.

3/12/2015 Ancestry.com - i had canceled my subscription prior to the end of
i had canceled my subscription prior to the end of the 7 day trial, october 2014, however, after reviewing my credit card, i discover i have been charged, 6 more months at $7.95 each , plus $49.95 for some sort of upgrade.
contacted customer service and spoke with your supervisor, michelle, who refused to remove all charges. she said she could only go back 3 months, and therefore couldnt authorize the 100% refund. however, offered me a free subscription....are u joking? i will never use your website again.i did not receive an email when i originally canceled, but wasnt aware i should receive one. now theres no record of prior cancelation.
and im out the $$. you offer 100% refund if not fully satisfied, well, im not satisfied and there is no refund. i also did not find the info i was looking for. i would never recommend your company.
