One star is a very high compliment. Terrible service. Poor and deceptive customer service. Each promise of renewed good service lasted as long as a burp in a tornado. Had make more than one attempt to do so. Be sure to get ID of agent and any other pertinent info because chances are you won't get what was promised and they will take advantage of any opportunity to impose charges for their error and mistakes at your disadvantage.

4/26/2017 BasicTalk - I had basic talk for 4 years with no problem, that
I had basic talk for 4 years with no problem, that is until I needed to cancel my service. A year ago, I called them to cancel service due to deciding to travel fulltime in our RV and we would no longer have need for a landline phone. They continued to repeatedly charge my account after I requested disconnect. I spent three months trying to get them to stop charging my bank account and refund the fees and they refused. So I cancelled my bank card three times. Each time, the charges would stop for about a month. At which time I got repeated bill collection calls, to which I told them I didn't owe them due to my account being cancelled. Each time on month two, they somehow were able to charge my account again. After the third time going through this, my bank representative informed me that the only thing that changes with the issuance of a new card is the expiration date, which is enough to stop most people from further drafting my account and for them to be able to keep charging me, they must be continually resubmitting for payment with new expiration dates until the payment goes through. The bank told me that this is a clear indication of fraudulent collection practices and they would file a fraud investigation on my behalf. I was forced to cancel my bank account and open a new one in order to get a different card number for my debit card. This company not only stole $300 from me over, but cost me an additional $300 in bank fees over the year I spent battling with them. I can only hope that the fraud investigation will get me my $600 back.

1/24/2017 BasicTalk - My phone has not been able to dial out I use this
My phone has not been able to dial out I use this line to call my 12 year old if I work late. Has not worked for over a year! I bought him a cell phone. Now I see they have been charging me the whole time, I had to cancel my credit card just to get them to stop charging me. there has been no phone # I could find to talk to a person. Don't use this company. If they don't want to talk to you, there is a reason.

12/16/2016 as a whole I have been very happy with basictalk,
as a whole I have been very happy with basictalk, one problem I have had and is a ongoing problem is this number used to belong to a person who had credit problems and I keep getting their calls DAY and NIGHT even on Sunday! I have asked as nice as I can to please stop calling this number ...to no avail? if I cannot reach someone at basic talk to remedy this problem I will be forced to terminate my service (DO YOU HEAR ME?)
