12/21/2015 Dominion Virginia Power - Dominion Power needs to repair the result of sloppy work
I have asked Dominion Power to visit my home several times to repair the result of sloppy maintenance conducted a while back. Who or what left the meter hanging and leaving a large gap between my siding and meter (caulking and mounting screws were removed) causing water from rain to entering and collect behind the siding. This is a dangerous way to leave the electric meter and could result in a fire. If my home burns down because of the way Dominion Power's serviceman left the meter in this condition, at least, my insurance provider and attorneys will know just who to go after. I don't expect this comment to be approved by the so-called "webmaster".

11/18/2013 I reported a street light outage to Dominion Virginia Power
I reported a street light outage on October 11, 2013 near 2638 Chestnut Avenue, Buena Vista, Virginia 24416. It was not fixed and I called again on October 26, 2013 to re-report it. I called again on November 18, 2013 to report the continual streetlight outage. The work order number is 8752812. Here is what your company promises:

1. From the date the outage is reported, the investigation of the outage may take up to 5 days to complete.
2. Depending on the result of the investigation, the repair could take 2 – 3 weeks to complete (underground cable repair, overhead cable repair, lighting fixture replacements).
3. If attempts to repair the underground cable are unsuccessful, the entire span of cable will be replaced. Cable replacements could take 45 days or more to complete.

It has now been 39 days since I reported the street light outage. When I call 1-866-366-4357 I am told there is nothing that can be done. Once it has been reported, it can't be reported again, and I just have to wait. This is unacceptable! I am checking out sources to see if I can get some action. This street is dark at night and you need a flashlight just to walk on the sidewalk and not stumble. Someone could get injured.

6/19/2013 Dominion Virginia Power - Hanover Grove Homeowners
Hanover Grove Homeowners Association(Mechanicsville off of Pole Green Rd.) has a 1/2 acre "Retention Pond"that we wish to add an aeration pump to help control algae and fishkill. The assn. needs to pay for the electricity once the pump is installed. The 1/3 hp, 115VAC draws about 6 amps.
What are our options as far as getting electricity to the pump? Can we come from one of the residences and have a separate meter for billing purposes? Or will we require a separate service / meter for the aeration pump? If so I would like to schedule an appointment to get this taken care of.
Thanks in advance.

10/29/2012 Dominion Virginia Power - I hope they cut down those trees hanging over
I hope they cut down those trees hanging over power lines On Rolling and Virginia Rd.They had plenty of time to cut down branches near power line and should of done it after the last big storm that showed how they didn't work pro-actively to prevent outages I hope that is not the case this time.Maybe time to start putting our power lines under ground which most of Europe did over 40 years ago.How many times over the years have the massive cost of clean up been more expensive then it would of cost to do the preventive measure of at least cutting down tree limb before storms year round which many other states do.

8/22/2012 Dominion Virginia Power - We Just had a storm hit our area and since then
We Just had a storm hit our area and since then our lights had been flickering several times a day. Finally I got sick of it and called an electrician to my house who found nothing wrong and then decided to go outside and saw that the meter was broken (the LCD display was blank). He then told us that the meter was broken and to call Dominion Power. That day we called Dominion to let them know about the problem and their response was that they were aware of it being broken and that someone would be out that day to replace it. No one showed up that day to replace it. The next day my wife and I thought we would call them and see how to file a claim for the cost of the electrician and found that they knew the meter being broken for 2 months with is when the problem started happening. My question is what is their obligation to notify the customer about a broken meter if they know about it so the customer doesn't call an electrician and pay then several hundred just to find out that the problem was the meter? If Dominion had notified us earlier it would have saved us from calling an electrician to the house.

And thoughts? Thanks

3/14/2012 Dominion Virginia Power - You are the only utility co that I deal with on
You are the only utility co that I deal with on rental properties that charges a fee just to change from last renter's name to mine so that power remains on in the house. Wonder why that is the case? Piedmont Gas always had my old acoount number ready to move it into until the next tenant moves in.
