7/27/2010 "Mares and foals on my farm have no water for more than 10 hours" needs a reality check. If you have time and electricity to complain on this website, go get a generator for the animals. My concern is for my elderly relatives in the heat, on fixed incomes with the food going bad, you all sound like spoiled brats. We've gotten so soft that if another country could just turn off our lights we'd be doomed!

7/26/2010 My father worked for the Virginia Electric and Power Company (VEPCO) for 35 years before he retired. As a foreman responsible for several line crews and servicemen, he would be appalled at the response to get power restored to customers from the recent storm on 25 Jul 10. It just too bad that there is not a competitor in the power provision business that could give customers a choice. We went through the biggest blizzard in this area since 1965 and didn't lose any power. We didn't even have a blinking of the lights. But one crummy wind storm and you guys cannot recover. We lost power at 3:00pm on 25 Jul. We are still without power now (1:45 26 Jul).

7/26/2010 This company has no published number to get to them after hours in an emergency situation. They seem to care less that the mares and foals on my farm have had no water for over 10 hours now in this heat. They seem To be clueless as to how dangerous it is for them to be without water for any period of time. Talk about needing change! Some of these companies that we rely on for critical services need to have government oversight.

7/25/2010 7/24/2010- I think the biggest problem Dominion Virginia Power has is that the company has no competition. They are the only power company that service the Virginia Beach area, therefore, they feel like they can get to customers at whatever time is convenient for them. Customer Service Representative give you all these different stories and answers when you are trying to get some information. On July 24, 2010, I contacted at least 5 customer service representatives and asked to speak with a supervisor because my power had gone out around 5 p.m that afternoon and each one of them gave me a different story about the technician being on his way and the time that he should have the transformer fixed. I never spoke with a supervisor, each time I spoke with customer service, they indicated a supervisor would have to contact me....that never happened! This incident had occurred once before on June 27, 2010 and the technician that came out indicated that Dominion Virginia Power needs to replace the transformer with a higher megawatt because the transformer that was there only had 50 megawatts and since the transformer had 12 homes running to it, the megawatts needed to be increased to 100 megawatts. He also indicated that he would put in a request to have a new one installed. Well, that never took place either because here it is July 24, 2010, not even a month later and the same thing has happen again! I think I will write to the General Manger of the company at 701 E. Cary Street, Floor 20, Richmond, VA. 23219 (P.O. Box 26666, Richmond, VA. 23290) to let him know just how sad and lack of concern, as well as service, Dominion Virginia Power shows their customers. Dominion Virginia Power services over 2.4 millions customers, therefore there annual portfolio (dollar) figures are in the billion range. I think Dominion Virginia Power has the resources to provide better service than what it has done in the past and is current doing. I am a firm believer that you can't keep doing people wrong and not expect any repercussion. Right now Dominion Virgina Power is the only company servicing the Virginia Beach area and some other areas, but rest assure, there will be another power company forthcoming. In the meantime, I will forward a complaint further than the General Manager if nothing is done. Next step will be the CEO of the company or even the news reporter. Yes, we are the little people, but we are the little people who helped get higher management to where they are today. If we went to another service carrier, I assure you Dominion Virginia Power customer service, technician and all who need to step up would provide better service. Just hold on Dominion Virginia Power, it's not over yet. Signed: L. Jones and Family

7/21/2010 I feel better that I'm not the only one who has suffered at Dominion Powers poor customer service and lack of a quality infrastructure. I have had problem with electric service on Route 11 North in Rockingham County Virginia since moving here 11 years ago. I have found no one at Dominion that will listen to or even try to work on fixing various issues of service delivery in this area. I feel that it will never get better. I also think they must have the SCC in their/our pockets. I don't think even government can fix this problem. We just need to get off the grid.

7/16/2010 I would like to thank you for beheading a tree in our yard. Instead of just taking it all the way down to the ground, you have left it standing tall (approximately 20 feet) with no branches. None of the other trees around it were trimmed. The trunk you did cut off, you left in our neighbor's yard. This is funny since the tree in our front yard has dead branches overhanging your secondary lines and Penn Line would not take care of those. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

6/30/2010 Here's what's giving me the blues. I moved out of my apartment completely on April 30th so I could deploy, had the power set to be turned off the following day. It's two months later, and I still have a bill? Called the office and I still have to pay the cost of the 'final' bill I'm supposed to receive when they turn off my power (again?). I haven't had any problems with this company...until now. Kind of diappointed/irritated.

6/29/2010 all of you big wigs at va power ought to be ashamed of yourselfs. give Bill (6-17-10)and his wife their power back. i'm sure over the years Bill and his wife have paid enough to your company to support your extreme lifestyle. their daughter owes the bill so go after her. it's just as much your fault as it is hers for allowing the bill to get over $3,000.00, you should have cut it off way before it reached that amount. maybe the ungreatful daughter would have move out and the parents could afford to enjoy their golden years that you are plainly making unbearable for them. i hope that in your elderly years you too are living in the dark. 6/22/2010 The Mountain of Blessings Christian Center had a fire due to a phase being out on May 27th in which Dominion Va Power was called out to correct the the problem. Upon further review by Dominion VA Power it was determined that there was damge to the line that runs under the parking lot. It was first suggested to dig up the line under the parking lot that leads to the building. After discussing this further it was they determined that an easier fix would be to terminate the existing line and install a new line inside conduit. We asked for the price before the work is done. Today, June 22,2010, nothing has been done, no cost has been quoted and we still have the same problem that could potentially be a fire hazzard. It hs been 3 weeks and 5 days without any communication with us.
