I have been on the phone for 52 minutes with Expedia customer service regarding a travel credit. Marina did finally apply the credit to a flight that I booked on-line. In the past, competent Canadian customer service reps have handled the request in a matter of minutes. IS EXPEDIA REALLY SAVING $$$$ WHEN FOREIGN SERVICE REPS TAKE 4 TIMES AS LONG TO PROCESS 1 TRANSACTION.

Well this explains a lot.. Hubby has been on the phone with 3 different agents Bashir ,Rhona and another Rhona tring in vain to get a simple question -- "does the total price include airport transfer to the hotel?" none of these agents had the simple ability to answer this question. It's good to know that the company's hard working Canadians support is in a third world country where 1 canadians salary can be stereched to pay 25 people. Its disgusting that this is what Canada has come to; and I know it's lot only expedia that does it.. ALL of the CANADIAN banks do it, along with cable, Internet, online customer service... Its repulsive.

I have booked many vacations and holidays for ourselves, kids, and company, with Expedia.ca. when ever a problem occured the reprsentatives were friendly, knowledgable and understandable. I had a recent problem with a booking and was on the phone for almost 8 hours total, after being redirected several times, on hold sooooo long, and disconnected twice after long holds.
I AM DONE WITH EXPEDIA!!!!!
I will never waste another minute of my life on hold, or explaining something to another representative in Egypt that does not understand and does not know how to do things!!!!
Sad because I loved EXPEDIA and told everyone about them.
Now I have a very different story to tell.

Thank you SO much for providing this number! I actually did get to a human after trying the number on their website for 2 days and being told there was a "higher than normal wait" and being on hold for a long time before giving up.

I still don't understand why, after having a vacation of $2200 declined because of my MC limit, Expedia could hold $1092 on my card "pending approval" for over 72 hours. Approval of what? It was DECLINED. Where did they even get this amount from? Now I am holding with an agent who is apparently in Egypt (Expedia.CA, I thought that meant Canadian) while he phones my credit card company to have this amount released. I heard companies do this so they can "use" your money for their investments before they release it back to you. 26 minutes later the amount has been released, apparently. Just going to phone the credit card company to make sure. YES, it has been released! I hope they enjoyed my $1092 for the three days they had it because they won't be getting a dime of my money ever again. BAD business practice Expedia! Shame on you!

After four hours of listening to Expedia music and four call centre reps (in Cairo- Egypt), all of whom refused a discussion with a supervisor the last one, SAEED, managed to "find" my reservation in the Expedia data base and resolve the problem to my satisfaction. He saved the reputation of the company ....but the pain of the process was horrible.

Couldn't care less what country-- but these guys STINK!!!! Service was unebelievably incompetent, rude and extremely difficult to understand. I called due to a problem related to flights being cancelled due to snow cancellations, and they wouldn't help me, only tried to assess penalties that don't apply in cases like this. They are stubbborn, ignorant and unprofessional. This is a new low in customer service and a very good reason to choose another booking site. It was like talking to a drunk, belligerant guy at a bar who gets too close to you, talks over you, is in your face-- and in this case does not even have a reasonable command of the English language. The negative comments are totally justified. Expedia is paying money to Egypt to alienate and lose customers.

I cannot even believe that I am now being transferred all the way to Egypt for customer service! I cannot even explain the lack of professionalism and social skills these people have. It is so disappointing how this day in age where customer satisfaction is so vital a big company such as expedia would fail so miserably in this area.
A huge oversight on your part expedia...I will never use you again.

As a person who was LAYED OFF by Expedia.ca's Canada call center, I would like to respond to the poorly excuted rebuttal sent by the agent which is currently employed at the Egypt call center. THANK YOU FOR TAKING MY JOB! Also, your call center had more than three months to train and get set up... the Canadian call center did not start transfering calls to your center until you were all fully trained and staffed. I would just like to congraulate you on your knowledge of "Facebook" or "cell phone" Engrish which you seem to be making your argument in. I would like to point out, that in the weeks in which both the Egypt and Canadian call centers were running, we were CONSTANTLY receiving complaints about your center and how they "will not do anything to help as they do not understand me". This is not racism, this is the truth. Expedia.ca should have never broken their promise to their customers in providing "Canadian Customer Service Repersentatives for their Canadian Customers". I'm am so glad that I am unemployed while you are providing lackluster customer service to Canadians who are trying to travel. I would like to point out that the "QA" people which you have pointed out are able to listen to calls and grade you yes, however, I do believe, unless your policies have changed, that you must make the sme mistakes three times and get caught, but agents who listen to five calls from any given agent a week, before you are fired. This not withstanding so called "Agent Errors" in which you cost the company money by messing up a customers flight or hotel to the point which it cannot be salavged. Also, I would like to point out by putting your name on your post you have violated the "non-disclousure agreement" which you signed when you began working for Expedia. If you get caught, you will soon be unemployed, just like me!

I am currently sitting in the Seattle airport after spending 6/hrs on a bus to get here only to find out that my name (middle initial) that I have been booking flights with for over 5 years through expedia's web site is not complete and I have missed my sisters wedding because of it. I called expedia thinking they would at LEAST rebook me on another flight but no, they did absolutely nothing but argue with me on the phone and then tell me it's my fault. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for 30 minutes to then be told he was busy and there was nothing he could do. So in the end I had to rebook another flight for $1000 with not even an apology. The call center was in Egypt and they were very unhelpful and I will never use expedia again, good rid-dens!
