9/7/2016 Harley-Davidson - I purchased a 2006 Dyna Lowrider from a guy who
I purchased a 2006 Dyna Lowrider from a guy who had only put 5200 miles on the bike looked new. I have had bike for 3 years> I have put 15000 miles on it. I was going down the road and notice the primary was making quit a bit of noise went on the HD forums and read there was a recall on them for this problem. Guys on the forum said I should contact the factory to get the ball rolling. customer service told me this bike had the recall done in 2005. I guess the recall was done while on the show room. Back then they were only putting a Band-Aid on it and they new this and that if the correct fix was not done u would have to have it done every 15000 miles. I told customer service and was told this would only be done a case by case deal and was told they would not p/up the whole charge even knowing that this is a none problem and a safety recall. Taking it in tomorrow to see what happens. If this is not taken care of I will be contacting every watch dog I can to report this> I guess HD does not stand behind the product any more I have been riding Harleys for over 40 years but if this is not handled in the correct way I will be looking for a new company that will stand behind there product.

8/23/2016 Harley-Davidson - I walk in to Arrowhead Harley Davidson in Phoenix
I walk in to Arrowhead Harley Davidson in Phoenix Az to look at a bike. I ask if they give a military discount and the salesman said, sure do, you get zero down. I picked out the bike I wanted, was told everything is good to go, and to get insurance. I called GEICO set up my insurance and then was told the zero down was for Active Duty only. I served over 20 years, deploy to Iraq and could not get the zero down. To top it off they sold the bike I wanted and insured while I was sitting waiting.

I have a 2014 Ultra Limited, the GPS is not accurate, it gets me lost more than getting me to the destination.
The 150.00 HD wants to charge for a map upgrade is a joke, I have a Garmin and when I need an upgrade I get on line and download. This is pure greed by HD.

6/19/2016 Harley-Davidson - I purchased a new 2012 Triglide at CHARLIES HARLEY
I purchased a new 2012 Triglide at CHARLIES HARLEY DAVIDSON IN HUNTINGTON WV in the spring on 2012 along with the preferred maintenance plan and the five year extended warranty. During the past four years the bike has had 3 oil leaks, the stereo failed, left me sitting on the side of the road after a tip sensor failed and now the voltage regulator has failed.

When the stereo started failing it would operate for 20-30 minutes then shut off, i had to take it in to Charlies HD 5 times to be repeatedly told that it all check out ok and nothing was wrong ( like i was not capable of telling the stereo had lost power) until it quit working all together and then was replaced.

Last week while riding to work the check engine and battery light came on, the stereo shut off, lost gauge lights, and the volt gauge went to 10 volts. I took the bike to Charlies HD and explained what was happening and left the bike to be repaired. I was called and they tried to sale me tires, and the 15000 mile service which i declined and was told the charging system checked out fine so the extended warranty would not cover the labor. I picked the bike up yesterday and paid the 168 dollar labor charge and within two blocks of leaving CHARLIES HD the check engine and battery light came on again and the volt gauge dropped to 10 volts. I rode the bike home and placed it on a battery charger to recharge the battery and ordered the voltage regulator from J&P cycle.

Once i repair the bike myself i plan to sell the bike as it has not been dependable enough to ride for any one summer since i purchased it new for nearly forty thousand dollars with the service plan and extended warranty. and look for another bike to ride. I vow to never spend another cent at CHARLIES HARLEY DAVIDSON inHuntington WV and would not recommend anyone to do any business with them either.

6/15/2016 Harley-Davidson - Purchased a new 2012 Triglide that now has 15,000
Purchased a new 2012 Triglide that now has 15,000 miles on it. I have had to take it in for several recalls which is understandable, had 3 oil leaks, has left me sitting on the side of the road due to the computer shutting it down and took two weeks to fix. The stereo failed, at first it would shut down after riding for an hour or so and took it in to the dealer 4 separate times and was told it all checked out and there was no problem it finally quit all together and was replaced under warrant after I threatened to call customer service. Last summer the reverse motor failed and took nearly a moth to order and be replaced. The past week the voltage gauge has been fluctuating from 10 to over 16 amps, the check engine and battery light has been coming on and took it in and was told everything checked out and there was no problem and that I owed them over 200 dollar for labor even though it has the extended service plan. The bike has been serviced in the Harley dealer every 2500 mile since it was new and has been the most unreliable piece of crap that I have ever owned. I would advise anyone to stay far away from Harley unless you enjoy throwing your hard earned money away each time you want to go for a ride. The bike I paid 38,000 for has not made it more than a thousand miles between having to be placed in the garage for days for work to be completed. This weekend I will be taking pics and placing it on the internet for sale. Hopefully I can unload it and purchase a new bike that I can dependably ride.

Called with a VERY basic question.
On hold for 18 minutes, 3 transfers and no answer.
Apparently customer service is a thing of the past at HD.

8/31/2015 Harley-Davidson - I own a 2014 Ultra Limited complaints about CB radio
I own a 2014 Ultra Limited that I purchased last year. I love the bike and all the features however I do have a complaint regarding the CB radio. I am finding that my reception is quite weak with a range of less than a 1/4 mile. In when others are talking to me there is a crackling noise that makes it difficult to hear them and I am being told that they are hearing the same thing.
I have spoken with a few HD dealers and they tell me there is nothing in recalls or repair bulletins from Harley Davidson yet I have spoken to several people that have the same experience and the Harley Blogs are loaded with similar complaints.
I also noticed that J&M electronics is advertising an antenna cable and ground improvements that retails for $120.00. I am guessing that they heard enough complaints and decided to take the opportunity to make some money by offering a solution. Since I have the balance of the factory warranty and I purchased the 7 year extended warranty I don't plan on going that route.
I hope that I might receive a response from Harley-Davidson

6/17/2015 Harley-Davidson - Carson City Harley Davidson offers a three wheeler
Carson City Harley Davidson offers a three wheeler safety class. I signed up for it. Called two days prior to check regarding the class vs weather. They stated the class was still on usually the class is not cancelled due to weather. I did explain I was 5 hours away. On my way I was 20 minutes away from Carson City and received a phone call stating the class is cancelled due to weather. I knew there were to be thunderstorms Friday but the class Friday was inside a room since it was 6:00pm to 10:pm. I questioned the cancellation and Carson City Harley Davidson stated well there are only two people signed up and if I wanted a private class it would be $500.00. Okay it was not due to the weather it was due to poor attendance. I feel this was wrong. After simmering down I did contact Carson City Harley Davidson and the person I spoke with didn't even know the class was cancelled. The person I spoke to stated this would be passed along and someone will contact me. No one has. Did credit me but that is not the point. 5 hours away, loaded motorhome with trailer, reservations very costly to me the crediting of the class was the least amount. This is wrong. There was no mention on class attendance. Could of stated something when I called two days prior.

6/3/2015 Harley-Davidson - I have a 2009 sportster 1200c. I wanted to change
I have a 2009 sportster 1200c. I wanted to change my handle bars to 8" risers. I ordered the bars then went to the Harley shop ( valley Harley Davidson in Bethlehem wv 26003 ) to get some advice. I was told that I needed to buy a cable extended cables, All four. I said ok and ordered them and when they came in I picked them up and started to install them. After I got all my other cables off I found out my new ones didn't fit. I discovered that they had orded the kit for 12" risers. I then found out that I didn't have to change anything. I had damaged the old ones and couldn't use them. I ordered all new stock cables, over 200.00. When I put them on the clutch cable wouldn't tighten. It leaked oil bad. I took it back and they ordered another one. It didn't fit ether. I took it back and they ordered another. So I did some research and found a 2008 modle 1200c and tried its CCable. It fit. Then I tried a 2010 1200c CCable and it was to small. I took this info over to the dealership to help them solve the problem. I was told Toney was in the back eating and that he was told I was there and that he would be out in about 5 min. Twenty min later I was still waiting. Then I saw Toney in the back messing with a computer.Another 20 min later I was still waiting. Rember I was there to help them. I have spent 1000's of $ there and thought that that I deservered better than that. I have been a Harley rider for 50yrs. I'am retired from US military ( USMC ), I have 3 University Degrees,One in Mechanical Engineering,Business admin and MBA.
I'm not a a real demanding person anymore but I do except a minimum level of respect. I will not be dealing with any Harley Davidson dealerships in the future. I won't give up my bike, HD admin is not worth it.
