7/30/2010 OPRAH DO YOU REALLY KNOW ABOUT THIS? IF YOU DO BAD,BAD,BAD!!!! I HAD TO LOOK ONLINE TO FIND A NUMBER FOR THEM (800)846-4020, WHEN YOU DO GET AN ANSWER JUST SAY CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. I GOT A VERY RUDE YOUNG LADY BY THE NAME OF STEPHANIE,EXT.3428 SHE SAID SHE WOULD STOP THE ORDER, BUT IT TAKES 30 DAYS FOR THE NOTICES TO STOP COMING. SHE WAS SO RUDE I HAD TO REPEATEDLY ASK HER TO STOP YELLING AND I THEN ASKED TO SPEAK TO HER SUPERVISOR. BETTY WAS HER NAME, SHE CLAIMED SHE WOULD TELL THE PUBLISHING COMPANY ABOUT MY COMPLAINTS, SHE SOUNDED AS IF SHE HAD HEARD THEM ALL BEFORE. NO MORE MONEY FROM HEARST!!!!!!!*&$# WHITEEYE

7/29/2010 For those who had a hard time. I spoke with Wendy very nice girl at that number 800-888-2665 and they were able to cancel this CRAP... in addition they were able to give me 6 subscriptions for free for a magazine that we never ordered or received since last year yet we were being billed. Thank God the nightmare is over hopefully we will not see another bill..

7/25/2010 All phone numbers that can be found for The Hearst Corporation are automated. Good luck trying to get a real person to rectify any situation. I was automatically renewed last year on Veranda Mag and have been fighting it ever since. Invoicing Bureau, per se, cannot be reached, either. Class Action sounds like the way to go, considering there are people from many locales and mag subscripts, there should be a multitude of people to participate. Just received another dunn letter for the newest renewal! LOL They are persistent. Incidentally, I have not received any mags since last year, only these letters. And, they're are "renewing" my letters, I would think, because there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. Good luck to all. Be sure to post any numbers that might work to get through. Thanks.

7/24/2010 the magazines in general is not the problem. the problem in my view is this company Hearst Magazines who, once they got you as their customer won't want to let you go. Further more just rip you off. shame on this company, will not do business with you, will not be trick again to pay and pay on added renewal's. Romy

7/23/2010 I have had the same sneaky tactic of this company, SHAME ON YOU OPRAH!!! You just lost another customer, I have for years been sent the pay one year get a year free deal, only to discover I have been billed every year and getting threatening letters from Hearst Magazine. I payed the subscription last year to OPRAH MAGAZINE! I will never order from you again this is double billing and against the law. Lets see what the bbb has to say about this! Brenda Landes.

7/23/2010 Thank you for the customer service number. What a sneaky company! Oprah, shame on you! I will never buy her magazine, or Good Housekeeping, and Redbook ever again, even in the store. Lets all stop buying them!

7/23/2010 I followed a link online; I think it was to read household tips. It asked me to fill out preliminary info, so I started that. Soon, the requests for info were too personal and it felt like some kind of committment SO I EXITED the program immediately. I didn't go back and erase the fields, just exited. It was maybe a month later that I started receiving Heart bills for a magazine subscription. It took awhile before I realized what had promped these bills -- which was definitely NOT my requesting a subscription. But it already smacked of a scam because there was no phone number on the bill. Thank you for posting the phone number.

7/22/2010 I will NEVER order from Hearst Magazines again!!!!! I paid for a year of Redbook, didn't love it, so I did not order another year. It is very telling to me that they don't post their phone number on any of their "past due" notices. The letters they sent were just intimidating. I wonder how many people think they actually do owe them money and just send a check to shut them up. When you do call their number, which thanks to this website I actually could find, you get an automated system, no humans. I followed up with a letter in the payment envelope to reiterate my intentions to never order from them again.

7/22/2010 HEARST XXXXXXX SUCKS!!!! Worst magazine company I have ever encountered. They try to steal away your money so quietly and it is so freaking hard to contact them to unsubscribe. It should be illegal to be that sneaky/sketchy.

7/19/2010 Wow, thanks everyone, I too got the runaround and without your advice would be spinning my wheels. Country living and Food Network magazines were also hounding me about not paying my renewal. I did tell the operator to pass on that they had better stop this deceiving practice. He did state that it automatic renewal was part of what I had signed up for, so read carefully before subscribing for another magazine from any company, I've got a feeling this will be a standard practice.

7/18/2010 Hearst assumed I wanted to continue receiving a magizine. They were wrong, I will never subscribe to one of their magizines again. They can assume correctly that I will be contacting the Better Bussines Bureau, consumer protection, and the attorney general for the state of Ks. They can also assume they will never get a penny of what they clain I owe them. Maybe a class action law suit can remendy this problem. Ed

7/17/2010 I THINK THIS COMPANY HAS ALOT OF NEVER TO AUTOMATIALY RENEW ANYONES MAGAZINE WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION "DO NOT RENEW MY COUNTRY LIVING MAGAZINE" IF I WANT IT I'LL LET YOU KNOW. YOU WILL NOT GET ANY MORE MONEY FROM ME.!!!!!!!!!
