I had a chair delivered and it looked like a used chair I got from a thrift store. the armholes were very soiled and it all looked a mess. as soon as you walk into my place you can see the over all appearance is used furniture. I thought I was buying a brand new chair. i'll never trust the business to buy again.

company rating is 0 my sofa delivered 12/07/2014 and by the next day 12/08/2014 the sofa cannot close, I cannot get in touch with the tech. to come in to see what is wrong with the defected sofa the store in carle place n.y sold me.

I wish I had read these comments first. The product may be good but the customer service is non-existence. My couch has been sitting in a warehouse since at least October 24. They have my money so I guess it is not a priority for them to give me my couch. Delivery date was scheduled for 11/4, I got rid of my current couch and took off from work. The showroom called me again yesterday -- saying that my couch was in and they were calling to schedule delivery! The person denied that he had a 10-minute conversation with me last weekend, and had scheduled the delivery for 11/4. When I told him I was not delusional and is it possible he just doesn't remember speaking to me -- he hung up on me! I called back, and that person also insisted we were wrong and had never scheduled anything, and she hung up on me! Now, I am told the first available date is November 9 and even that is iffy. Ugh. Wish I had gone to Macys.

Jennifer Furniture is not a reputable company. First of all I only had my sofa fro about six years and the Customer Service told me that the replacement for the left side of the sofa. I have no children and then why is my sofa looking as if I had the sofa for 20 years. I was told that the Tech would be back out to recover the left side of the sofa. The company is not reputable nor honest. I should get its business licence revolked. I am 60 yrs old and have been taken advantage of.

I would like to register a comlaint about my experience with Jennifer Convertibles in Colma, California and San Rafael, CA. I went to the Colma store to purchase a couch with recliner seats at the end. In the local newspaper (this was President's day weekend)the couch was listed at $399.00 which was wonderful. When I went into the store the Manager (I believe his name was Jeff) informed me that it was $299.00 that day. I was very happy and told him I would purchase the couch. This is when the "Company Policy) was expained. I told Jeff that we had a home in San Francisco and also in Placerville, CA, but wanted to use the couch in our Placerville home. I asked if we could pick the couch up at the store when he said NO - AGAINST COMPANY POLICY. The showrooms don't have room to stock any furniture for pickup. He said the only way to get the furniture was to have it delivered to our San Francisco home for $100.00 or pick it up at a warehouse in Livermore (?) between the hours of 8:00am and 9:00am on a Monday.I asked if someone in the warehouse would assist us in putting the couch in our truck. He explained that they could not do that as too many cars/trucks were damaged in helping the items get into the truck/cars so again Company Policy would not allow it. I explained that I was 65 and my husband was 95 and we didn't really know anyone who could afford to take off work to load the couch. He was nice enough to give me the manager's name in the San Rafael store to see if he had an extra couch in the style that I wanted as his showroom was bigger. I went home and thanked him and called the San Rafael store manager who was rude and explained the Company Policy again. When I said it was ashame the the Company could not accomodate their customers he said well that is why the furniture is so cheap. I was shocked as he made it sound like because of the cost your company doesn't really care. Anyway I said that a sale was lost and he really didn't care. I really wonder if your company is really a furniture company or a front for something else. I am so dissapointed and one more unhappy person with your "company".

We recently moved to the US and bought a house in Santa Clara CA. We had heard good things about Jennifer convertibles sofa beds from one of our friends , so we definitely thought of visiting the store when we decided to furnish our house.

In fact, we went to the Jennifer convertibles in Dublin CA and bought the entire furniture for our house in one go. The list of items we bought :

1) Leather sectional with ottoman (Haney)
2) Queen Bed ( with headboard. foot board)
3) Dresser with mirror
4) 2 Nightstands
5) 2 Tables
6) Dining Table with 4 chairs
5) 2 table lamps
6) Powered recliner sofa (Smith Power)

NOTE: we ordered all the items that were on display, except for the sectional which was displayed in another color.

So, we bought all these items on Blackfriday after waiting for 4 hours in the store but were very happy. Since the Haney sectional was back ordered until January 2013, we got the balance items delivered last Saturday (within one month of our order) to us. To, our surprise the power recliner which was delivered was a two seater rather than a Sofa (three seater) which we had supposedly ordered.

I told this to the delivery guys and they said I should call up the Dublin store. I did call up immediately and the Michael from Dublin, CA store ( from where we bought everything) convinced me that this is what we ordered as if that is the only item Jennifer sells in that style and I couldn't have ordered a three seater. He was adamant that L/S (referred as love seat) was mentioned on the order they took. I told him that I as a customer don't understand the code language such as L/S that Jennifer salesmen put on the handwritten order. He disagreed. So, I hung up disappointed. The next day, I visited the Jennifer convertibles store in Cupertino, CA closer to my new house and found out that there is a three seater sofa in the same style that Jennifer sells. So, it was not that I was confused, it was actually a wrong item delivered.

The truth is that we had ordered what was there on the display in there store that day ( and it was a Sofa- three seater , not a Love seat, please confirm from Micheal and Donna - they both agree that the display item was sofa). In fact we are new to the country and do not even understand what a Love seat ( abbreviated as L/S) on our order is until we called up the store. Clearly, Donna, who took our order on that day, wrote it incorrectly. We at multiple times tried to explain that we had sized the space for a sofa , we ordered the item which we saw in the store. We also told them that we understand that Donna was pulled by multiple customers during that time so we understand that she possibly made an error so please help us get the recliner sofa and we will pay the additional price difference. What we heard from your store was that you should have refused delivery. Well we reached out to the store in front of delivery guys (you can confirm) but the way Michael convinced me was as if I am confused and this the only item that I could have ordered. This is not in our experience expected from a good stores. The forcefully delivered a wrong item and now are not willing to accept an error which was made on their part???

Both Micheal and Donna acknowledge that the only item that day in the store was a Sofa but they keep on insisting that we ordered a LOVE SEAT even though we did not even know what a Loveseat was. They are also throwing the card of why it took you two days to call back again.. and I told them that I had to visit other location of Jennifer Convertibles to first confirm the item that we saw was actually the three seater sofa.

We have been told to basically just accept it and that they have talked to their managers and nothing can be done about it.

This is Really BAD customer experience for a first-time customer who bought just everything from you. I have googled and read multiple horror stories about the customer experience of Jenifer convertibles online and I am not even sure that I would even see a reply to this mail.

I still thought that I should try.

I would need your help me to replace the Love Seat, which was incorrectly delivered to us, with the correct three seater sofa. We have always mentioned that we are ready to pay the difference in price. In fact I remember that I bought the recliner for $699 and what was printed on the order was $649.

6/5/12 In April I went to a showroom and considered buying a sofa. The sofa had a temporary sale price. I was told to put $10. down to hold the price. The ten dollars could always be refunded. A few weeks later I came back and said I will not be purchasing a sofa from Jennifer Convertibles, may I please have the $10. returned. I was told only corporate office can issue refunds and was told I would receive a check. I received the $10 check. I just received a bank notice that the check bounced! I am glad my investment with this company was only $10 dollars! Sad that so many people are being unfairly treated. There are much better companies to chose from. Do your homework like I did.
