6/7/2011 Kaiser Permanente - California residents - I agree with the Karen. Most doctors at Kaiser
I agree with the Karen. Most doctors at Kaiser suck. I know there are some good ones cause I've been treated by one of them. But its rare to get them. I have seen changed health plans. Unfortunately, my mom does not have that choice. She was seen as an emergency yesterday and was prescribed Ibuprofin. It is well documented that she has delicate kidneys (due to a previous infection which left them weak). She was called by her primary today to be seen. She went only to be treated rudely and belittled. He kept forcing the Ibuprofin on her telling her that her body could process them. My mom tried to explain that after standing for almsot an hour she felt weak and her vision blurred. He answered that she was ok and to return to work. Then walked out of the room; leaving her talking. I cant believe doctors, whose main profession is to help the ill, are so rude and careless.

I went to Kaiser to pickup my Prescription and someone had picked it up
a couple hours earlier.

They would not admit it was an Employee and wouldn't do anything.

No way it was anyone in my family. I had called in the Prescription two days earlier so it had to be someone ther.
It made it to the Pharmacy but was taken and signed for.

Wouldn't the person that so called gave it to the customer have to initial it?

8/31/2010 Kaiser Permanente - California residents - Kaiser has been good for my wife and myself. We
Kaiser has been good for my wife and myself. We have been members for over 15 years and I am now Senior Advantage. I have an excellent GP, who sends us to the right specialists, who have always met our needs. Recently when I needed a pair of prescription sun glasses before a vacation trip, I was able to request a rush and get them quickly. I hear a lot of complaints from people, who really don't know Kaiser. Like anything else, you have to learn the system and when you do. it is an excellent healthcare plan. I always have a doctor, 24 hours a day, have access to all specialties and the best equipment on the market. Friends with private doctors usually love them but are distressed when their Doc is on vacation or ill and when they need to search for a specialist.

2/27/2010 Kaiser Permanente - California residents - Couldn't agree more. The nurses and phone folks
Couldn't agree more. The nurses and phone folks are nice but the doctors frankly... suck. They are rude and unhelpful, and my new GP actually told me that I had to go to *Chemical Dependency* to deal with a certain medication -- if one stops taking this medication suddenly one will have seizures and can *die*. So I foolishly made an appointment through CD.

When I did, they sent me to a *psychologist* (who cannot prescribe medication) and basically treated me like some sort of drug addict, rather than a patient who has been taking the same medication for 15 years, never even thinking of increasing the dose.

That's what you get if you go to Chemical Dependency. DON'T DO IT. No matter *what* they say, insist on having your doc deal with it. If they won't then change doctors (or preferably health plans).

1/28/2010 Kaiser Permanente - California residents - I have nothing but problems and headaches since
I have nothing but problems and headaches since joining the senior advantage program. They should change the name to senior disadvantage program. I was told I would get 3 months prescription for $10.00 (also federal employee retired). I have gone twice now and paid $10.00 each time for 30 day supply. I ordered eye glasses and they said they would be ready in 7 - 10 days. 30 days later I was still waiting. I was told I do not get any chiropractor change and I paid $15.00 co-pay and now the chiropractor is telling me I should have paid $5.00 co-pay but they are not going to give a refund. I was asked if I wanted to pay for Medicare D and told because I was a federal employee I did not need Medicare D. I am now told all senior advantage program people are automatically put on Medicare D. I was told they have a dental plan and they sent me some outrageous high payment plan that does not give as good coverage as California dental or smile savor. I am completely confused and dissatisfied with senior advantage. I have had Kaiser since around 1972 and now considering looking for a different health plan.
