8/2/2013 Kaiser Permanente - Denver/Boulder area residents - My experience in California with Kaiser has been great
My experience in California with Kaiser has been great. They drop the bullshit and do thier job. The medical assistants understand that the system is in flux, the web-site and all, and are able to work around it. For true I have never been in a state where people were so unable to work with a system as I have been here. Colorado folks, if its possible, seem even lazier and disinterested than Californians. So, there is the problem, as I see it. We are from Oregon, originally, and the problems with Kaiser are epic there too which is why I was skeptical about thier services in Cali- We have had two kids at Kaiser, they saved both of thier lives praise God, and I believe if you have individuals and a local policy of caring then you will have a good experience. On the other hand if people are waving the term "entitled" in your face all the time and if there is a feeling with patients of lack a in standard medical rights, and employee concern then you're never going to get past the problems listed here. My primary concern is that Kaiser did not transfer my partners records to CO. They know both my children were born there but don't recognize thier mother. What the hell. Her doctor doesn't know her history and is intrusive and pushy. She doesn't work with her and is overly suspicious of her condition, since she has no record of it! We'll see how it goes this time with me and if they suck, all day, again then I'm never coming back. There are lots of facilities where people care and if the Corporate one is not for you then so be it.

My father fell and got a very bad bump on the head, we were told to go the Radiology Department at the Franklin facility, my father was supposed to have an emergent CAT scan. We arrived and were told the Technologists were all in a meeting!!!! This was 2pm
My father waited for almost 2 hours with a possible brain hemmorhage, and were told he was not supposed to come in until after the meeting!!, I then tried to get a hold of the scheduling supervisor numerous times, to no avail., I walked my father across the street to the Emergency Room at St Joseph Hospital..Kaiser Permemente is a bad choice for an HMO...

5/1/2011 Kaiser Permanente - Denver/Boulder area residents - This is a copy of the letter I sent to Kaiser and
This is a copy of the letter I sent to Kaiser and to the office that I had the appointment at.

To Whom it may concern.

I would like to express how upset I am at my first and last (to date) visit to the clinic in Evergreen, CO. I came in Friday 4-29-2011 with a sore throat. I was seen in a timely manor. Being a new patient the nurse advised me that I needed to set up an appointment and choose a Primary Care Physician. I was informed that they could take care of that right away. I made it abundantly clear that I did not want to do it at that time. I was hesitant to do it at all not seeing the need. While being examined she was insistent on the fact that I needed it done. I conceded that maybe I should but that now was not a good time and I could come back later in the day or set an appointment for next week. As the examination went on she repeated how important it was for me to see a Primary Care Physician. The Primary Care Physician could explain the lab work that was in my file.Work that I had gotten done for my Dermatologist. Again I repeted now was not a good time I had somewhere to be. She took a swab of my throat and said she would be right back. Some 20 min later she stuck her head in and told me that the doctor would be in in a few min. My thought was why am I seeing a doctor for a nurse visit? When the Doctor came in she started to go over the tests I had in my file.Tests had nothing to do with why I was there at the time. I explained that I was now short on time and had hoped this was to be over soon. She then started to examine me. As she did she joked that "bet it feels like you are being forced to see a doctor." I told her YES it did. She told me that the nurse was concerned for me. After the examination the doctor told me the short test had concluded I did not have Strep and my throat was sore. She did not give me a prescription for anything, nor did she tell me that they do not give out antibiotics for this. She in fact did not give me any advice at all! Just sent me on my way after almost 2 hours in your office.

Your nurse, while thinking she was acting in my best behalf was NOT! I DO NOT need a another mother. She WASTED my time! The doctor that I did not need to see did nothing for me and again wasted my time! I am furious that I spent almost 2 hours in your clinic and only got hassled, nothing productive happened! MY TIME WAS WASTED! What am I paying for? I was assessed a Co-Pay, I will not pay it! I would like your help to have it removed from my file.

I have been a new patient for almost 5 months this is the second doctor I have seen. So far I have had a problem at every turn when I have dealt with your company. When I set up my online access, when I set the appointment for my dermatologist, when I faxed records to your records department, when I faxed records directly to my doctor, having the first of 2 prescriptions filled, Still having problems with the second prescription and now this. You have lost this customer, You have bought bad word of mouth. We have a choice at my company of providers, I will be steering people away from your company. This letter will be sent to my Union my Company as well as published on the internet.

2/4/2011 Kaiser Permanente - Denver/Boulder area residents - Wonder how you actually become a Kaiser member? I
Wonder how you actually become a Kaiser member? I filled out the application. Acording to their paper work, 7-10 days for completion.
I'm going on 8 weeks, have spent countless hours trying to find a live body to talk to, upon finally finding someone they had no idea how to check progress, was given another number today spent 4 hours holding only to be told they will call back, no idea when or what day. Their only response for the 8 week delay "we are really busy"!! Won't matter as I will likely die of old age before they figure out their own system (and I'm 59)
How everyone else is having better luck than I am!
Have you noticed you can't find anyone or a number to complain to????

I was a member of Kaiser and had been told by my doctors office that you covered this particular service. I am a two time cancer survivor, had lost my job and stressed that when I received bill after bill from you that I was not in a position to pay this bill because I was told that I would be covered by you. I even said I would pay a minimum amount due to the circumstances.
I filled out all the necessary paperwork to show proof of my financial position, proof of unemployment etc and you said you were sending financial assistance forms I filled out what was necessary with a very informatiive letter. As a resposible person I did what was necessary on top of making call after call, leaving messages with different depts.Nothing was easy with reaching someone there. Repeating the story over and over was beyond stressful. As a hard of hearing individual, cancer surivor, and someone unemployed was beyond stress.Very little understanding from your offices. Connecting with the right person is certainly a challenge with your customer service. this stress alone is not easy given what I have and had to go through. Finally you tell me you never received my forms I never get the paperwork again from you and now I pay a penalty. My bill goes to collections and still have to fight with you to be on my side when I have done what Kaiser told me to .. very unhappy and disappointed former customer.

RE: Kaiser Permanente - Denver/Boulder area residents
I have been trying to speak to a live person at Kaiser for about an hour and approx.
14 phone numbers later. Heads up, your Customer Service Website doesn't work, nor the company website. Called the 303-388-3800 then pressed 4 then 1 then 1 at the next two menu (see above) and still no person. My Issue is a family member covered under Kaiser has the the flu, perhaps h1-n1. With an international flight pending. Perhaps we should take her to a clinic to have this checked out, what do you think Kaiser Permanente? Can I bring her in so you can check her for the virus, or should we just have her spread this all over the county side, in hope its not part of the pandemic?
You would think for what we pay for health insurance we could at lest talk to someone after hours!
A Truly disappointed customer
