got landrover ddefenderr 110 since 2002/ since the begining of 2014 i am getting grief by police/and brent ccouncil fining me for every nitty little thing// 1000 in fines and panelty fines/even when i do my urmost/ brent council sent inforcement wardens with cameras/ cctv on there sholders to catch me out////im convinced brent council is plotting to make my life a misery//hoping ill get fed up and go back from where i come from// no chance// my landrover mw51unz is now on sale/ thats the only way to stop the black list of the authorities///////

how is this possible what is going on with landrover ??????????????

1/5/2012 Land Rover - I am a proud owner of two freelanders (1.8 3door
I am a proud owner of two freelanders (1.8 3door 2006 & 1.8 5door 2006) as well as of a series III 109 2.25 Land Rover. For the freelander i think that is a 4wd miracle. It can take you anywhere and the TC works as having 3 locked differentials. i have been everywhere in Greece.

Freelanders suffer in two things but someone can obviate if manage to keep a mind on the car.
a) Blown head Casket. This happens because the thermostat gives command to the cooling system very late and as a result from day to day your casket is blown at 60-70k km. What you need to do is ask the previous owner (if second hand) if he has change the casket and where.
If not and the casket is still OK, you have to change the factory thermostat with a new one.
If yes, don't buy a car fixed in an independent mechanic. Land Rover knows the problem and replaces everything... pipes, thermostat, casket, oil, water container etc.

b) Clutch. The original clutch is very good and heavy duty... but... the base of the clutch pump is not. Day to day the base looses and the pump changes angle and not functioning right and as result suddenly you will feel that the gear knob is not working smoothly. If the previous owner have changed the clutch, you have to be sure that the clutch pump and its base have also changed with original ones. In not, then you have to change the base&pump before its to late.

Sir or Madam, I bought a 2003 Freelander a little over one year ago. Within 5,000 miles, two window mechanisms, both catylitic converters, and a radiatior leak occured. The leak is not external but internal. After over-heating and breaking down on the side of the road MULTIPLE times, bringing it to several garages, and a simple google search, i've found these problems are not user caused but are a direct result of poor business and manufacturing. Not only can Land Rover dealerships not fix these problems, but make people spend thousands to figure out that nothing can be done to solve them.

I have a LR disco 3 auto with only 40,000 on the clock. When purchased it had an extended warranty on it. I took it to LR dealer who replaced fron prop shaft and gave it back saying thump underneath was solved. It was not and the warranty ran out. Took it to another LR dealer who said it was the rear diff - replaced and still thumping underneath. NOw saying its the autobox and LR customer service not interested, nor is garage that said they had fixed when obviously had not. Been shoved and pushed around with no-one accepting responsibility that on a verhicle as high priced and meant to be a qiality vehicle that this should not happen. Fed up with LR and there constant refusal to sort problems out. LR customer service even told me that I had no legal comeback to them as they sell all vehicles through franchises so tough !!

10/31/2011 I have had a Land Rover TD5 for 10 years now and
I have had a Land Rover TD5 for 10 years now and have had trouble free motoring.Since March this year 2011 a problem has come to light,every so often while driving up a hill or just accelerating the engine will start to miss and then the engine management will cut the engine just leaving the tick over on so you still have power steering.It is getting dangerous as this has happened when over taking leaving you in the outside lane with no power.I purchased the car in the UK,i moved to Spain 7 years ago and found a land rover dealership in Elche just outside Alicante by the name of Illicar.They have been trying to solve this problem since March to no avail.They have been in touch with Madrid to see if they could solve the problem but they could not.They have now returned the car to me and said there is nothing wrong with it.Is ther anything Land Rover can do to help me with this problem.i have a touring caravan but i do not want to go to far from home in case this causes an accident.

I have a garbage Land Rover LR2. So many problems and the Dallas dealership will not fix them. The suspension screeches everytime I drive over a bump. They claim it's normal for a used car. Worst service and worst line of very pricey garbage vehicles. sTAY AWAY!!!

I bought my defender in 2003 in Sao Paulo Brazil so far i never had any outstanding problem ,all maintenance has been done in line with the instruction manual and whit registered dealers .Last week i could find out ,to my surprise,that the bottom of the 2 front doors is completely rusted and partly gone .This not meeting my requirements iro of defender ,it is a lifetime car and for sure this is not in line with the high land rover standards .Would like to know from Land Rover which corrective action they propose.
