7/31/2014 Makita - I just purchased a 19" clay spade for your old
I just purchased a 19" clay spade for your old HM1500 demo /jack hammer from a local White Cap store. I paid $210.61 for that accessory! I am overwhelmed by the mark up that Makita charges for their older equipment. I recently purchased a new demo hammer (Makita) from Home Depot & paid $89.00 for the new updated clay spade. The new spade cannot be used with the old demo hammer, how convenient! I have been very happy over the years with your products but am considering going with another brand of construction tools. Double the price for accessories just because they are older is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An unhappy Makita customer going elsewhere!

2/2/2014 I purchased a new Makita 18v L-ion drill about 6 months ago
I purchased a new Makita 18v L-ion drill about 6 months ago and have been nothing but disappointed in the tool. I am a subcontractor and I purchase several drills and have always liked Makita tools, that's why this drill has disappointed me so much. The chuck won't stay locked on a bit, and now for probably 2 months it can't even be used because the battery will only stay charged about 10 minutes. These new L-ion tools are supposed to last longer and charge faster. That has not been the case with the new Makita drill.I hope Makita gets this problem fixed because I do like Makita tools but until they do I'm going to have to continue to purchase DEWALT TOOLS

11/29/2011 Makita - I work hard and require plenty from my tools.
I work hard and require plenty from my tools.
MAKITA’s Own description of their tools: "tools for the professional user… Our tools work hard and standup to brutal working"
Proved to be right and I became a MAKITA fan.

Unfortunately; the last tool I bought – 3x21 belt sander – Is making me re-evaluate the brand. When changing the sand belt – seated at a bench about 18” – it just slipped off from my hands. The frame broke so; the sand belt can’t be stretched and the front wheel moves while in use (making it difficult and in some angles impossible to use).

Amazed that such a small accident could cause such damage I went to MAKITA’s warranty: "Each Makita tool is warranted to be free of defects from workmanship and MATERIALS for the period of ONE YEAR"
This made me wonder MAKITA’s choice of materials and the warranty behind their tools.

Your service center (Astro Industrial, San Juan, PR) informed me the warranty did not apply and the repair cost is half of what I paid for the machine.
As a costumer, the next time I buy a tool, I need to consider:
1. The quality of material used in the MAKITA machine not resisting a 9” fall from the ground???? (I was holding the tool vertically down from my knee and seated at an 18” bench)
2. Warranty not covering such incident.
3. Repairs so expensive !
---- Will I buy MAKITA again? ----
Please help me keep being a - MAKITA fan – honoring your warranty
Thanks,
Jeannette Fossas
