6/6/2016 MetLife Extremely poor service
Extremely poor service when I asked for funds to be moved, did not happen, agent not available, and spent over an hour on the phone before I got to the right customer service department, first tow agents were in foreign countries and we wonder why we have such a jobless rate, the real rate not the one the while house gives out.
Funds still not transferred after three weeks, guess they enjoy sitting on funds and collecting interest.

No more Met-life for me!

MetLife customer service is one of worst I have ever dealt with. No matter what time of the day you call, the wait time is more than 20 minutes. They don't even deserve one star.

METLIFE IS OUTSOURCING ALL SERVICE CALLS. SINCE FEB 12, 2013 I HAVE CALLED NUMEROUS METLIFE NUMBERS FOR SERVICE AND I AM PUT THRU TO THE PHILIPPINES OR CENTRAL AMERICA AND I AM HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH NUMEROUS OTHER MAJOR COMPANIES. I AM KEEPING A LIST AND WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE COMPANIES. IT IS A TERRIBLE SITUATION. I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I FOUND OUT BIG METLIFE WAS INVOLVED IN THIS OUTLANDISH MEANS OF CUTTING COSTS. I CHECKED AND FOUND OUT PRUDENTIAL IS DOING IT TOO. IMAGINE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH A PRODUCT - BE IT INSURANCE, E-BOOKS, YOUR BANK , TELEVISION LIKE DTV, ON AND ON. THIS INSURANCE SITUATION WITH METLIFE INVOLVES AN ENDOWMENT POLICY THAT BECAME PAID UP ON 3/17/2013. WHEN I REVIEWD THE FIGURES I FOUND MISTAKES AND HAVE CURRENTLY COME UP WITH 3 DIFFERENT AREAS, MY PREMIUM PAYMENTS WERE INCORRECT, THE TAXABLE GAINS AMOUNT WAS INCORRECT AND AN AMOUNT OF DIVIDENDS PAID TO ME WAS INCORRECT. I REQUESTED A CHECK FOR PROCEEDS AFTER CORRECTIONS WERE MADE AND THEY EVEN SCREWED THAT UP. I MAY DIE OF AN ANXIETY ATTACK BUT THAT MAY BE WHAT THEY ARE HOPING FOR? HEAVEN HELP ME, WHEN WILL I GET MY CHECK? i AGREE WITH wb JIM

3/13/2013 I deal with a division of Metlife retirement plans
I deal with a division of Metlife retirement plans along with other institutions and GOOD LUCK if you have an annuity or a retirement plan because our small division is ALWAYS receiving calls for Metlife accounts that we do not have. The organization of Metlife is disgusting and sends people in circles. There is no definitive number to contact them...there are a hundred and you will get all the wrong ones unless you check back with the original employer to what contact number they may have. Good luck with finding your money and getting your money or tax forms or whatever Metlife has of yours.

Was promised a confirming letter a month agom and still have not heard. Agents who I talked to did not know what they were talking about. Gave me false information or did not want to help. I have lost all faith in METLIFE. Name should be changed to METDEATH.

!2/12/11 Metlife dental sucks, Found out my wife who has dentures is not covered because of a missing tooth clause in contract. Think about it instead of saying in plain language that if you have dentures prior to coverage you should not sign up because you will not ber covered for new dentures. they fraudulently state " missing tooth exclusion/prior loss clause: Are plan benefits available for teeth lost prior to effective date?NO". The most stupid, deceptive, mean dispictiable, language any so-called company with ethic and integrity ever devised.

Ruth - to answer your questions, the reason you probably aren't getting return calls is the only compensation/commission going anywhere today for your policy is to MetLife. Most insurance companies, when the original agent that sold you your policy leaves the company, there is no furtner compensation given.

However, when the insured calls for service, it must be assigned to an agent, and they make no money unless they do some type of new business with you. Otherwise, they receive no salary or compansation of any kind from the company. This is the case for most insurance companies, and that is why there is such high turnover in the industry - the ONLY way an agent makes money is to do business with a client. There are some exceptions, but with life insurance, this is typically the case.

If you want to get some help, call the closest MetLife office to you (preferably the office where your original agent worked), and ask for the Managing Partner. He should make sure someone takes care of you.

If he doesn't, file a complaint with your local/state insurance commission. That'll fix it in a hurry!

I have left numerous messages requesting help on a life insurance policy. I have had at least 3 different Rep's over the last 2 years. Two of them are no longer with the company, yet their voice mail/cell phones are still active (what a waste of the company's money!!!). I am frustrated and am reaching my boiling point. My current Rep, as far as I know, is still assigned to my policy, and I can't get him to return any of my phone calls. I have had this policy for approximately 20 years and I am ready to cancel and go with another company due to lack of response. Is this normal? Who is receiving the commission on my policy? How can I find out who, if anyone, is assigned to my policy? Shouldn't someone who has been newly assigned send out new contact info? How can I get someone to contact me? Where else can I turn?!
Frustrated & angry in Nevada.
