I used moneygram through walmart 3 times to send money to my son for food. I trird again tonite and was told i was locked out and account closed because of suspicious activities? No one would tell me what suspicious activities or whether my account had been hacked. They refused to give me a contact number for moneygram security. They said they dont have one. I am filing a complaint with state attorney generals office on monday.

I have been trying to send money to Haiti, which was not the first time that I sent money. I am a customer and and I gave my reward number from the card that Money gram issued to me 6 years ago. Today, something strange occurred. When I went to pay the pay to complete my transaction, I found out that the sender name was not me and my nephew 's name was not on the list. I left and I will call Money gram to complaint about this situation. They need to resolve their issues before people lose their money because they could get sued.

5/14/2016 I am living the nightmare with Moneygram you all
I am living the nightmare with Moneygram you all described in your comments. I sent money oversees and it's been 3 days Moneygram has held my money with no explanation. Customer service is useless and they always transfer you to the department that will "Help you" but news flash it's just an endless loop of music and no one answers. I am currently on hold for 6 hours!!!! Please someone tell me how to end this nightmare and get my money back. I'm filing complaints with the better business bureau and to my husbands contacts in Walmart and will do my best to bury them in social media. They take your money and the fee then don't deliver. Moneygram knows they have problems but refuse to address them, that's your problem. I can't imagine Walmart would be in business with a company with service this bad and so many Unsatisfied customers. As I'm writing this someone finally picked up the phone, asked me questions that are already answered on their form and said they will call me back....they called back and said the funds were released...we'll see.

3/27/2016 I have sent money through moneygram to my cousin,
I have sent money through moneygram to my cousin, who is in college in Ga, several times. When I do send money using moneygram its an emergency. He needed the money yesterday. I want to see him finish college so a couple of times I have sent him my last dollar. All of a sudden their system sends my money to the phillipines. I've never sent money to the phillipines. I clicked on his name in their previous recipients list. It doesn't show his address. As soon as I saw where my money had been sent, which was as soon as I hit enter, I called to get it changed. He was about to get evicted and that was my last money. They said, with their barely understandable English that I would get my money back in 3 to 10 days. My cousin lost his apartment and it ended up costing $1000 to get him another one. It took the full 10 days to get my money. I could have carried the money to Ga by walking there in 10 days. MoneyGram is worthless. They are not a bank. If they cant get your money to the right place they should be able to reimburse you immediately. I think one of those phillipine customker service reps is changing the destination of the money and using it for some kind of scam or whatever, then putting it back. Walmart is attached to moneygram in my area and as soon as I find a way to a real executive with Walmart I'm going to give them an earful. Walmart was giving refunds w/o receipts at one time. Ive never had a problem with them. I'm sure Walmart don't know how bad moneygram really is. MoneyGram should be investigated by the US FEDS. There are two major things that get people hurt. Fooling with another mans woman...and fooling with his money. Theyre asking for trouble.

3/19/2016 Moneygram - Do not use this company! They are a nightmare.
Do not use this company! They are a nightmare. The receiving person cannot get their money. The facilities that sponsor Moneygram most times do not have the cash to give them and when they give money orders they cannot cash them. I have been on the phone numerous times and customer service is a joke. They keep repeating non sensical solutions!
DON'T USE MONEYGRAM! This company should be banned in the United States. They are a scam and are charging for their services when sending money when the receiver cannot get the money.
I will post this everywhere to make people aware of this.

2/19/2016 Moneygram - Very pleasant to work with a company this level of customer support!
I had to call MoneyGram customer service a couple of times for paper money order and each time they were extremely polite and friendly, took their time with me to work through my issue, at the end of the call, each representative asked if there was anything else they could do for me!

2/2/2016 Moneygram - Had money sent to a friend in a neighboring state.
Had money sent to a friend in a neighboring state. She was told they could not release the money and that I had to call. I did and when I did, I was told I had to go to a MoneyGram location for the clerk to call them to ask me the very same questions the representative could have asked on the phone when I called the first time. This was a big inconvenience as the reason for using the service was the idea of convenience. Once there, the questions were not about me as the sender and validating if I sent the funds, but about the recipient and very personal in nature (ie...How do I know the person; who are they to me; if I've ever seen them before; what are the funds for; etc, etc...). This goes beyond QA and into the realm of privacy invasion. If you as a corporation want to better your service and customer appreciation, I suggest that you train you customer service reps on the fine line of validation vs personal invasion. I also plan to file a complaint with the BBB, as invading my privacy should not be tolerated and not part and parcel of my doing business with your organization.

DON'T USE MONEYGRAM. They only ISSUE money orders. Unless you have a bank account (in your name,with enough money to cover said money order in the acount) you can not CASH it ANYWHERE without being charged an excessive fee, if at all.

hello there people yes i agree with you about this company they ask to many questions when yo uare the one that is sending the money and they never tell you why they will not send your money but to tell you they are not happy with doing this for you . and that is not a real answer but this what i get from them most of the time and i am tire of there answers .
