9/19/2011 Royal Mail (UK) (UK) - Further to my very recent post, I managed to speak
Further to my very recent post, I managed to speak to a PERSON at Rmail by following options 3-3-2 on the 0871 number suggested on another site. The lady thought that the service they offered was fine when letters get chewed up in the machinery. When I chose to differ she hung up on me!!! I wasn't rude, didn't use bad language or shout. I suppose that putting the phone down on a customer is also fine? Wonder how much she gets paid for doing that? Is she happy in her work? If she isn't, do senior management know why? Do senior management care? What is going on at Royal Mail??????

9/19/2011 Royal Mail (UK) (UK) - It is apparent that as part of the "streamlining"
It is apparent that as part of the "streamlining" process to cut costs(ie people) RMail have made it impossible, let alone expensive, to get to talk to a live human being on the phone. How do they get away with this? Because they have a High Street monopoly. None of the "select option" numbers answered my problem. E-mailing the Customer Services brought similar useless responses. It takes a lot to annoy me but...... They deliver me an unfranked half envelope with no contents. I do not know where it originated, what was in the envelope, its value etc. But they want me to accept their apologies. To me that implies guilt on their behalf. Yet I have to pay to phone them only to get nowhere. This is the first time I have had this sort of problem but it has shown me what sort of people run the company (not the people on the ground who always seem helpful to me.)

Cannot get through to customer service on the phone. No more patience to hold on after 25 minutes and it is not the first time.
Having paid £23 to send a book to Tanzania on 21/6/10 it never arrived. I attempted to get a refund for the postage and book a few month later without any luck.
However two days ago, just over one year later the book has been delivered back to me.
I now want to sent it on to India as the person it is intended for has just moved there.
I think it is fair that I do not have to pay for the postage again.
Cannot make contact with Royal Mail.
Their contact section on the internet is not straight forward and one must waste so much time reading through so much information and details.
It is very stressful.
Royal Mail might wonder why they are not doing as much business as they would like to.
Why don't they get their act together and show professionalism?
It is such a disgrace that you cannot get to speak with anyone on the phone to attempt to solve a problem.
Royal Mail should be penalised for the way they perform. Or better still not exist as they create too much grief and stress.

My name is Roger . I have a Redirection in Place to Mrs L Wolfenden, Crest, Springfield, Chelmsford, Essex, . It is CLEAR that the Postman is ignoreing the instruction to Redirect and is delivering Post to Flat Seafield Court.
This has cost me 2 very important Hospital appointments dealing with my health, and a great deal of embarrasment,. not to mention other issues, I would hope that Royal Mail will give this "problem" immediate attention.

I agree with most of these comments regarding Royal Mail. I have been waiting for a parcel sent by Royal Mail UK on (as Royal Mail informed me) Malaysia Airlines. Royal Mail said it was sent 16 February 2011 and it is now 10 March 2011. Australia Post have not received my parcel yet. I am extremely disappointed to say the least with the Royal Mail service. This was a first time experience for me to buy on-line from anywhere and I can assure you it's not a pleasant experience to pay for an expensive item and the mail system loses it. I was going to advise my friends to buy this particular article as I'm sure it would have been a benefit to all of us (pain relief).
I will certainly inform my friends and family not to let any company send their items by Royal Mail.

The web site is the most user unfriendly I have ever seen. It gives you no help whatsoever in being able to contact customer services. When you do find a number all you get is an automated service. After many attempts and finally finding a number where you can speak to someone about a lost or damaged item they tell you that even though it is the 8 February and claims are supposed to be dealt with within 30 days, they are still dealing with claims from the 17 December! Abyssmal!
