I do not even know how to even begin to express my disappointment with your store located inside of the Battlefield Mall in Springfield, Mo. I work more than 80 hours a week and finally had an afternoon off to be able to travel to Springfield with a girlfriend of mine. I was just recently diagnosed with Carpel Tunnel Syndrome and was told I have less than 6 months before I need surgery to correct both of my wrists. Being that I was upset and nervous about my surgery for the past month, I wanted to do something for myself.

I have been a VIB member for over a year now and my fiancé has since created an account to surprise me once or twice a month with makeup goodies. I have even helped my mother get her VIP status by purchasing through her account online and in store.

When we first walked into the store, a gentleman who asked us if we needed any help finding anything greeted us. We replied “No thank you, we are just looking for palettes that catch our attention.” The other employees greeted us one shortly after the other asking us if we needed any help. We replied the same as the initial time we were greeted.

Shortly after the last lady greeted us, I happened to look at two of the employees who were whispering to one another. I did not pay any mind to it or try dissect the interaction between the two. We quickly started to notice we were being watched. The moment we turned down an isle, the last employee to ‘greet‘ us was at the end of the isle staring at my every move. Feeling uncomfortable, I walked around to the next isle. Before I had even made it to the isle, she was already standing at the end once again, staring at my every move. I eventually moved to 3 other isles and got the same thing. Before I even made to the next isle, she was standing there waiting on me.

If I even so much as moved my arm remotely close to a product, her eyes went directly to where my hand was. If I kneeled down to look at a product, her eyes followed my body going down and back up again. As I looked around the store, I realized the employees were standing there talking amongst themselves, not paying near the amount of attention the other customers. Once I started to look around a little harder, I realized my girlfriend and I were the other black people in the store.

My initial thought process is not to scream racism when I feel uncomfortable. Considering we were in the mall for nearly 3 hours, we had not felt any issues with any of the other stores. We made sure after a purchase; we took the bags back to the vehicle so there would be no reason to be suspicious of us. We have been black women our whole lives. We already know how people judge us. For that reason, we find any way we can to trump the stereotype.

Of course, we walked out empty handed because of how unwanted we had felt. You should be proud of your employees for at least telling us to have a nice day and laughing as they said it. At least you guys have that good ole customer service!

I typically have a decent experience at this store. Outside of the employees throwing extra free samples into my bag because they forgot to put my purchase towards my points, I’ve never been even remotely disappointed. This experience however, will be the reason I now shop elsewhere to get my products. If Sephora is the only store to sell them, I will just have to live without them.

I truly hope you guys fix this situation with the location. If not, it’s not my pockets that will be hurting. I’m sure you guys will continue to lose more customers who don’t fit the right shade on your color spectrum. I am not sending this to get a reply from corporate, I am sending this so you guys can fix your issue and hire employees who will cater to all different people.

The online ordering for a gift card is not at all user friendly. I wanted one sent to the address where I am vacationing and it kept being kicked out because it didn't match my home address. After a few different tries, I resorted to phoning only to be told the number is no longer in service. I will take my money to an easier site.

I went to the Sephora department in Valley River Center, Eugene, Oregon and the sales clerks were rude, stuck up, snotty and completely ignore you. I was looking for information about the product, I stood there while they chatted with each other, no other customers at the time and did not even come over and ask if I needed help. For that I will never buy Sephora products

12/21/2012 Sephora USA Inc. - this is the worse experience i have ever had
this is the worse experience i have ever had shopping online! i paid for expedited shipping, only to find that my order arrived incomplete and they are fighting me saying that the box weighed 8 pounds and the fact that i only received one item needs to be investigated, making me feel as if i am trying to steal from them! i have not requested a refund. i have requested for them to send me the items that i PAID for. it is not my problem what the scale showed when they mailed out the package. i want my stuff and they are rude and not willing to assist me, the PAYING customer. i will NEVER shop at Sephora again? i should have stuck with my higher end stores, who actually treat me like a real person, not a criminal!

Jeanne is the best in Boise. She knew the mineral powder that one of the sales girl had on me was wrong. She suggested a light foundation. It looks fantastic with the concealer. Also, the cream eye shadow I bought from her looks and feels wonderful on my eyes!! Got the clarisonic cleaner system and the Opal for the lines. Love Jeanne, I always have the best experience with her..

i had one of the best experience at the sephora at union square. i had two girls that helped me . they didnt rush me , they took their time and i was well pleased. the girls names were massiel and marisol . they made my experience wonderful and a delight i will come back again . and to the girls they wore pretty and sweet as pie !wonderful girls and wonderful products . thanks again sephora for having such wonderful people that really like what they do at the sephoras in union square .
