7/3/2017 Smithsonian Magazine - I am receiving 2 magazines a month. Please correct
I am receiving 2 magazines a month. Please correct this. One magazine is under the name Aubrey B Hammac and is the name on the credit card I renewed my subscription with. The second magazine is received under the name Brooks Hammac the name my original subscription was created with. Please reduce my delivery to one magazine because the two names are the same person.

Thank You
Aubrey B Hammac/Brooks Hammac

I have renewed my subscription for Smithsonian and a free offer to two friends, I have paid for the offer and the two friends have not received their magazines. There is not telephone number for customer service in the magazine to call. I have looked the telephone and called them and still the two friends have not received their order of this magazines. Something is wrong with this offer.

HORRIBLE reissue of what used to be a quality magazine.
Apparently it is owned and published by some other company and what is posing as Smithsonian is nothing like the Smithsonian magazine of the past.
THIS IS A SCAM.

Customer Service is rude and not willing to help.
I asked for a refund and was told that I didn't have a subscription choice of a refund......although I cancelled my subscription that moment I received the first issue.

WHAT A TERRIBLE THING TO DO TO WHAT WAS ONCE A TOP NOTCH MAGAZINE.

12/21/2015 Smithsonian Magazine - I responded in the Fall of 2015 to the Smithsonian
I responded in the Fall of 2015 to the Smithsonian Magazine as soon as I received the first reminder to renew my personal plus two other gift subscriptions. I indicated in writing on the Invoice that I did not wish to renew the two gift subscriptions but wanted to renew mine. I enclosed the appropriate check with the Invoice for one subscription. Since then, I have continued to receive their Invoices. I have returned them every time, repeating -in writing- the same information as well as the date, number, and amount of the check I mailed them months ago. It doesn't make any difference. I have received yet one more Invoice charging me for all three subscriptions. It is as if they have NEVER received my check, my requests for cancellation of the gift subscriptions, or my consequent follow-up replies (repeating the same information) to their multiple requests for payment (Invoices). I love this magazine but I am totally baffled, frustrated, and disappointed with this unbelievable situation. Is the address on their own return envelope incorrect? This is the only possible logical explanation - either they are, somehow, not receiving my correspondence or they are the most incompetent magazine Customer Service Department I have ever subscribed to -and there have been many! Unfortunately, I did send money for my own 2016 subscription renewal already BUT it shall be the last!

12/15/2015 Smithsonian Magazine - I renewed my subscription and for many months
I renewed my subscription and for many months, I keep getting billed over and over again for the $12 that I already paid in Sept. 2015. I declined the gifts, just wanted the magazine but keep getting bills. I spoke with a "representative" and they said this is the way things could work. What about all the wasted paper and trees and this is supposed to be a conscious person's magazine. If I could, I would unsubscribe, but they already have my money and cashed the check. Something is seriously wrong with this co. as is evidenced by many other comments above!

Extremely hard to find cust. service phone no. Had to check multiple listings, I've made multiple contacts to remove from mailing lists of deceased family member, always told it's done, might take few weeks to go into effect. Now 1 year later, we still continue to get "renew", etc. Seems no end to resolving. Very frustrating, and not convinced of the printed guarantees after this issue.

6/17/2014 Smithsonian Magazine - I sent a check with the original subscription
I sent a check with the original subscription advertisement. I expected to have no problems. I then get dunned for the subscription about a week or so later. I thought they crossed in the mail so I wasted a stamp and sent the dunning back with my check #, etc.

Instead of acknowledgement, I have received ANOTHER invoice. I don't need this. I am cancelling my subscription. If and when I see a story I may want to read I'll buy it off the newsstand.
