2/24/2013 I've been a TiVo member since they came out about
I've been a TiVo member since they came out about 10 years ago and have owned multiple units. They USED to be great...now they're terrible. They're billing me $99 for a TiVo I bought 7 years ago, and long ago replaced with another unit. I spoke with customer support last week, and they assured me "not to worry, your account has been cancelled, and you do NOT owe us any money", that the "computer was auto-generating these false notices." I said, that's great, but they're threatening to send me to a collection agency within 30 days if I don't pay, and I've been working hard to rebuild my credit, and don't want a mistake by TiVo billing to ruin it. They again assured me "no worries, it will NOT go to collections, this old account has been deactivated." Well guess what I got in the mail today...yup, a notice from a COLLECTION AGENCY for the $99.00 Thanks a lot, TiVo. You guys are TERRIBLE now. Such a shame, you used to be really terrific.

I just became a Tevo customer today and after talking with both Tech Support and Sales I must report excellent service. They both went above and beyond what I needed. Now, I hope this level of service continues. If it doesn't, I will report it, here and to the suits.

I have been a TIVO customer for almost 7 years and their service has gone from excellent to the worst of the worst. When I called last month to have my service activated at my new residence, the woman could not have been more rude. I thought that maybe it was an isolated incident and she was just one bad apple but when I had to call today and got a man that was even more rude - I couldn't believe it. So when I told him that I wanted to cancel my service, he read a script to me as fast as he possible could and then disconnected the line. I have absolutely no idea what he said because he was obviously reading off of a screen and read so fast he didn't even take a breath. It used to be such a joy to call TIVO - what happened? Did they get so greedy that they started treating their employees so terribly that this is the kind of service they provide? Or do they just not care who they hire anymore?

6/1/2011 I have had Tivo service for three years since
I have had Tivo service for three years since buying my unit. I have been very happy. My service was up for renewal on June 14 and I received an email explaining renewal costs. I also was offered some lifetime renewal discount so I called in to ask details. I called their Customer Service on May 16. I was informed that I could renew for a year for $129.00 or I could have a Lifetime renewal for $299.00. This lifetime renewal would be for the current unit I have, and I would owe nothing more for the service in future years, ever. I got a reference number and told the service person I would call back after I talked to my spouse. I was never told this was a temporary offer or the offered expired soon. I was given the impression that I had until the renewal date, June 14. I called today (June 1) to renew with the Lifetime offer of $299.00 and gave the reference number. The person I talked to today said that offer has expired and the new rate for Lifetime renewal was $499.00. This person was adamant that nothing could be done to honor the $299.00 offer. She said the person I talked to before didn't tell me I had additional time to make a decision. She basically was calling me a liar. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said it would make no difference. She went on and on that the new price was $499.00, company policy decision and sorry, but that's the way it is. I insisted on talking to a supervisor. I explained the situation to him and said something should be done and how I didn't appreciate how the previous person talked to me. He was able to work with me and ended up giving me the Lifetime renewal at $399.00. It was a compromise but I should have received the $299.00 renewal. I wanted to post this because it shows how company's try to scam people. Once this Tivo unit goes out, I will think twice before considering another Tivo unit because of this incident.

4/8/2011 TiVo - The worse of the worse company to deal with. The
The worse of the worse company to deal with. The accounting department deposits funds into their Wells Fargo bank via checks from my BOA account. But, no one at Tivo can explain how that happened, because supposely I had no account to credit my money to. According to Tivo (CSR) my account had been closed since last year (Oct2010). So who could explain the mistery of TIVO cashing in those deposits to NO KNOWN ACCOUNT? Hmmmm!
Well, once my bank was involved and conferenced in a tivo rep. an investigation was issued, 1-2 wks later I received a call from a guy at tivo stateing they would be refunding my money. That has been way over a month ago. Today 4/8/11, I called to get a sob a** excuse that several people had been working on this investigation and everyone assumed each other was taking care of a 38.85 credit. Excuse me.....the refund amount should be 51.80,(12.95 x 4)is not 38.85. The coward supervisor name Matt, left this poor woman out in the cold, instead of taking over the call to handle a matter that certainly required someone in upper management. Now everyone has to read a bad review on Tivo, because Matt neglected to reach out and attempt to make the situation better, when in fact, I had previously spoken with him 2-3 months ago....(same issue)
Tivo was decent, for the 1-2yrs of service with them. But, TWC I've had for about 10-12 years now (cable & high speed data) I now have 1 but soon 2 DVR's. Tivo....your loosing becaues of your unprofessionalism and greed.
I will be using my twitter and FB account to share my story as I stated on record to the CSR, in todays conversation.

10/25/2010 TiVo - I had the same problem finding a customer service
I had the same problem finding a customer service number. I did reset the Tivo twice, reset box. The local Cox Cable had shuffled the HBO and other premium channels which show up on the Cox DVR, but my Tivo Series 3 which is on a hard wired network connection (cable modem) did not update. I wrote down the lineup changes as best I could (what they used to be and what the channel numbers are now) and it's supposed to be reported and changed in a few business days, which seems long to me as it's been 6 days and other's have complained I'm sure. But I have a case number so not too bad. I don't know why my local Cox cable didn't report the channel changes to TIVO. It's not Tivo's fault.

9/20/2010 TiVo - After almost having a fit trying to find a service
After almost having a fit trying to find a service number for days...this saved my life!
I had considered throwing the tivo box out of the window...hate the fact that they want us to fix our problems by spending time on line researching various websites..

What on earth happened to REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE...in this time of unemployment it would be so pragmatic to employ and train a few people to man telephone enquiries...and provide a friendly voice of encouragement to promote their products.

This was a really convenient way to get their number. Tivo is really particular about confirming the account information before proceeding. Even though I was calling regarding a corporate account that had been set up years before. I literally had to go through every phone number in the office to get her to let me access the account information. Regardless, we got it taken care of pretty quickly and they were helpful. Good job, tivo.

10/8/2009 TiVo - I have never had such poor service as I
I have never had such poor service as I experienced trying to deal with the customer relations people at Tivo. I called to update my credit card information and to prepay for an additional year service and found out that Tivo had been double billing me for the previous years service. I pay for a full year and they continued to charge my credit card the monthly fee. When I asked about getting my credit card overage refunded it was refused on three different levels of phone staff. I sent an e-mail and got a response on my answering machine, when I tried to respond I just got voice mail for three days and finally called a different phone number and got a service person who was helpful. She agreed to credit my charge account for six months fees and give me six months of free service. I really wanted to get a full refund of all the money that was taken as a result of Tivo double billing me but I was satisfied that this was the best that I would be offered. That afternoon the service supervisor finally returned my call. He told me that the best Tivo would do to compensate for their double billing me was a credit on my charge card for six months of service and three months of free service. After three months they would bill my credit card and if I called them they would give me an additional three months of service. He refused to honor the terms which were offered to me earlier in the day and he refused to give me any contact information so I could contact a supervisor about getting the problem resolved.

I found the whole process of getting my issue resolved to be very frustrating. I had a hard time getting contact information, having my phone calls answered, and getting credit for the amounr I was double billed. I found the phone supervisors to be very rude and uncooperative. I love having Tivo and if there was any way I could get a comparable product from a different service I would change companies and buy a different recording product from a company which offered better customer service.
