My grandfather, Jay Bruce Makey, had 100 shares of Edison. Upon his death it was bequethed to my mother, his daughter, Phyllis Jean Adams. Upon my mother's death the shares went to her husband, my dad, Charles Monroe Adams. Upon his death the shares went to my daughter, Christina Adams, but she never switched the shares into her name. She just signed my dad's name, Charles M. Adams by Christina Adams on the quarterly check. Christina moved several times and Edison lost contact with her and she doesn't receive the checks anymore. Would you research this and let me know what happened to her shares.

9/10/2013 Toledo Edison Company - The company has not yet set up my automatic
The company has not yet set up my automatic payment plan. It's now been 6 months since I first submitted the proper documentation, and 2 months since I last submitted. Their customer service (a 30 min. wait) proposes I wait another month, even though they have threatened to cut off my service. PUCO is of no help, since no law requires the utility to process my payments in a timely fashion.

Toledo Edison is just a virtual company. They have no physical presence in the city of Toledo, nor even in the state of Ohio. More than half my monthly bill goes to them (rather than to the supplier), yet they cannot even process payment options ina timely fashion.They don't even employ Ohioans to perform repairs. How did they manage this sweetheart deal? I'd like to run a company like that - take in hundreds of dollars form hundreds of thousands of customers, and provide them with no service in return. Sweet! Some politician somewhere (and we can easily guess his party affiliation) got some huge financial benefit from this sell out.

Kelly, I really think you're blaming the wrong people. You should pay more attention to the time frames for PIPP yourself. If you have no income, how do you pay your minimal bill? Thirty dollars is extremely low. I don't live in that area any longer, and I'm gone most of the time, and my bill is nearly 100/month. While I know that there are people who need some help, the entitlement mentality of this nation is sickening.

8/8/2012 Toledo Edison Company - Our gate was damaged and the latch does not work
Our gate was damaged and the latch does not work as well as it could. To make a quick fix I made a clip to hold the gate closed until we can get the gate fixed. Every month - this will be month number two - the Toledo Edison meter reader will come to our yard, take the clip off, throw the clip away, read the meter, leave the yard, my gate is wide open - he/she/it makes no attempt to replace the clip, which is easy to do. I came home and the lawn mower is gone - gate is open - dog is also gone. I have a gate and fence for a reason - I don't want my dog to get out and I don't want items stolen from my yard. Thank you Toledo Edison meter reader - now I have to buy a new lawn mower and my dog is still missing. Hope the meter reader for YOUR house does the same to you one day.

7/29/2012 Toledo Edison Company - I was not informed my PIPP needed to be renewed.
I was not informed my PIPP needed to be renewed. After paying about $30/month while on PIPP, I opened a bill for almost $900. My PIPP had expired (news to me) and that was the amount I was legally responsible for. After calling for almost three months at the crack of 8am, when the office opened, and unable to schedule an appointment (somehow they scheduled their allotment of appointments for the day by 802am), my electricity was disconnected on July 18. Eleven days with no electricity. All my food had to be tossed, except some italian dressing and pickles. I dont have a PIPP appointment until Aug 2. That is over two weeks without power. I think thatnis ridiculous. I have no income and. I currently have no working vehicle. I am stranded in my apartment with no power, no means to get elsewhere, and limited outside contact. I am losing my mind...something has got to be done about this insufferable modus operandi.

It is july 4 we have been without power since july 1. We have three kids one of them has mono and is sick. The heat index is over 100 and all the food in the fridge had to be thrown out. I have called many times over the last few days only to get a false time that our power will be restored. We are the only house in our area without power. I want to know why the he#& , i ever pay my bill the worst service i have ever heard of!

I have accounts with both Dayton Power and Light, and Toledo Edison. Toledo Edison's customer service is FAR superior. I got a real person without a hold time. She was polite and thorough. However, the last two times I called DPL I was on hold for over 20 minutes each time, listening to very annoying music. Another I time I called DPL a recording took my number to call me back later because they were so busy; however the call was never returned. DPL's recording states customer satifaction is "their highest priority," if so, DPL is in a lot of trouble! Congratulations Toledo Edison, and please keep up the good work; it means a LOT!
