I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite P55t-A5116, Serial # 3E118230S.

I bought it in June 2014 at Best Buy in Tacoma, WA.

Several keys don’t work. This happened last week.

I went to Toshiba’s website, learned there that my laptop is under warranty till June 2015 and phoned Toshiba tech support 1-800-457-7777.

Kathleen in the Philippines said Toshiba will repair it, and emailed me the documents I need to fill in and send with the laptop to the repair depot in Indiana.

Unfortunately, this procedure doesn’t work for me. I spend winters in Jamaica, West Indies. It will take a month to ship, repair, and return the laptop. But I use it in my business.

So I phoned Toshiba tech support again, spoke with Paolo, and then with his supervisor John.

They said they cannot do what I asked.

So I’m writing this in the hope that someone at a higher level may be able to do so.

Can Toshiba ship me a new keyboard to a company in Pembroke Pines FL (15 miles north of Miami? (I have a technician friend/neighbour who will install it as soon as it arrives.)

I have an account with it. It expedites shipping to Jamaica things I order from the U.S.

7/18/2014 Toshiba - software up dates play havoc with my computer
software up dates play havoc with my computer particularly Internet service.

Typically I lose service for a few days when updates are installed but have been without service for over a month.

I am connected to the internet because I receive emails thru the email app and Bing weather is up to date but I can't connect with a server.

I contacted your tech service but they blamed me for the problem and wanted to sign me up to an expensive service contract to fix the problem. All I did was restart the computer as instructed.

As I see it Toshiba and Microsoft need to fix my problem because its your updates which caused it.

I really don't want to talk to your tech service and I'm not going to buy their service contract.

My laptop was bought on Christmas Eve and after a month wouldn't turn on without being plugged in to the mains. I called there customer support and was delighted with the help I recieved. The man I spoke to was incredibly helpful and polite and sent me out a new battery which I recieved within a couple of days for free (due to 12 month warranty. My laptop is now working perfectly again and I wouldn't hesitate to call them back with any other problems that I may experience in future.

1/28/2014 Don't buy anything Toshiba!
I agree whole heartedly with all of the people, in this forum, that have had negative experiences with their Toshiba product. I have been trying for 4 months, unsuccessfully, to get my flat screen TV fixed. The customer service is non-existent, the TV is poor quality, obviously, and the customer is left feeling frustrated and neglected. My advice: don't buy ANYTHING Toshiba. I certainly never will again.

I see by another post that we are not alone. My husband and I bought the exact same Toshiba computers on the same day at Best Buy. We got the extended warranty but it did us no good because he began having problems with his computer a month after the warranty expired (we had them 2 years and 1 month). 6 weeks later, my computer started having the same problems as his. We took them to Best Buy. They told him the mother board was bad on his but they said they couldn't find anything wrong with mine (even though it was doing exactly like his). They got mine working, but it's now starting to go off and on by itself and is doing all the things it did before with various error messages and such. Best Buy told us it must have been a bad batch and suggested that when the tsunami hit Japan, they sent their work to China so as not to interrupt their flow of business. I don't know if this is true, but I do know one thing - I will NEVER buy another Toshiba product of any kind and I will be sure and tell everyone I know. I also hold Best Buy at least partly responsible because I'm quite sure ours wasn't the first of the "bad batch." They don't care about their customers and neither does Toshiba. Lesson learned.

9/4/2013 Toshiba does really suck.
Toshiba does really suck. I need a charger for my Excite 10 tablet. Can't buy it at a retail store. They told me to contact Toshiba direct. I called, none in stock in warehouse but should receive in 30 days. Now after I had to call again I have been told another three weeks atleast if then.
What kind of a company cannot keep accessories in stock to service their customers. It would be a no brainer to keep customers happy but since they don't care after they make the original sale the customer ends up with the problem.
I am very unhappy with Toshiba and will not purchase any electronics from them again.
Toshiba apparently does no know what customer service is.

5/2/2012 Toshiba - on 1/17/2012 I purchased a new Tosiba HDTV model#
on 1/17/2012 I purchased a new Tosiba HDTV model# 40FT2U. The power board failed after two months. It is well known to customer support agents but they dont tell you that on the phone. They give you a ref# and tell you it will be about a week. After a week I called to follow up on part and they referred me to the 3rd party repair company nexcor whom advised me that these Toshiba HDTVs have a defective power board with an extremely high failure rate. They said that after getting many power boards in they realized that this is not the problem because the power boards are not working and that its actually the main board. Which now due to the long back order for this Toshiba HDTV component speaks for itself--high demand or they don't know to make a good one. They give you another reference number and tell you that this is all they can do for you. THEY DO NOT CARE! Please do not buy anything from Toshiba, I promise you they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I spoke to Julie in customer relations, she will not transfer you to a manager, she will not give you an employee id or last name or any other way to file a complaints..... I am stuck with this TV :-( without sound or picture yet I have only made 3 credit card payments.

I have a defective Toshiba TV Model # 57HM167 serial # 35506654. The DMV chip has failed just outside the warranty coverage period and it is widely known that the set is defective. All other manufactures are covering this cost. The service rep (Jack ) was rude and hung up on me after I asked to speak to someone who could make a decision regarding the repair.
I am requesting that Toshiba stand behind their products the way the other manufactures have.

ALL I HAD WAS ONE QUESTION ON SHIPPING BACK MY LABTOP THAT'S STILL UNDER WARRANTY. ONLY TWO MONTHS OLD. WHO THE HECK IS ALVIN IN CUSTOMER SERVICE? WHOEVER HE IS, HE SHOULD BE FIRED! In 80's I bought my first Toshiba tv, 3 since for my family and 80's tv just died in '10.
I also bought a DVD player in '07 and it died a year later, so no warranty coverage, right? I called and explained I've been very happy with tvs and wondered if the DVD player had problems and I knew I was not entitled to any part of the warranty.
Custoomer Service said, "What's your address?" I told the man and he sent me a new one, no questions asked. Not even proof of purchase or the receipt. That's customer service and I remain a very solid customer
