  1. This has to be the cruelest joke on the planet. Ohio Blue Cross Blue shield does not answer phones ever. Even when other Blue Cross Blue Affiliates in other states attempt to reach them. This company should not be permitted to provide insurance in the state of Ohio. We have spent over 40 hours– three today attempting to reach them. We have talked to reps in Texas, Georgia and Arizona… They cannot reach them either. We are drafting a letter for the Ohio State insurance review board and strongly advise ever one else having issues with this company to do the same.

  2. Call to cancel policy took over 45 minutes, 4 reps, and automation just to cancel policy. It would have been much less costly , at $120 dollars an hour my labor, just to have not paid the policy and let it cancel. After all Anthem has only increased the policy cost $160 dollars a month the last two years. Now I have better coverage, less than half the detectable and way less than half the cost if the new policy compared to the Anthem policy.

  3. THEY PLAY AN ABSOLUTELY PATHATIC TUNE WHILE YOU ARE ON HOLD, WHICH CAN DRIVE YOU INSANE.

    NO BODY ANSWERS THE PHONE AT ALL.

    YOU CAN DIE WAITING FOR SOME UNTRAINED JERK TO ANSWER.

    THEY STINL BIG TIME.

  4. EVERYTIME I HAVE A PATIENT THAT HAS BCBS INSURANCE, I HATED IT BECAUSE I KNOW THAT I HAVE TO DEAL WITH STUPID CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT DOESNT KNOW HOW TO TALK TO PEOPLE. THEY NEED TO CHANGE THE WAY THEY SPEAK TO THE CUSTOMER. I HATE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY.WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

  5. BCBS Anthem is horrible!!!!! Trying to get through their automated system is a nightmare. When we do finally get through the representatives act so dumb and have no clue about customer service. Insurance companies are all shady.

  6. Anthem um services is by far the worst customer service company I have ever dealt with, it is virtually impossible to get an answer to any questions you have.

  7. I have called 6 times since receiving info that my current plan with BCBS Anthem will no longer be offered in 2013. I got my paperwork 10-6-12 and have left my name and # with the rep who answered the call # on my paper info 6 different times. I was told each time I would get a call back in 24-48 hours– nothing so far BCBS Anthem seems to duck!!

  10. an absolute joke, you call because you havent recieved your member and group id number yet, and you can not talk to anyone, untill you have a membership and id number. these dummys can burn in hell.

    scripts have added a new dimension to the term incompetence.

    VECCHIARELLI HAS APPLIED FOR A TRANSFER TO YOUR COMPANY FROM BLUESHIELD OF CALIF. FOR

    MEMBERSHIP FOR BOTH OF US WITH NO ANSWER. OUR INSURANCE EXPIRES ON 04/30/12 AND I

    HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION BY PHONE OR MAIL. I AM 63 AND THE JUDGE IN OUR

    DIVORCE ORDERED THE X-SPOUSE TO PROVIDE MEDICAL INSURANCE UNTIL I AM 65 ON 04/09/14.

    WE BOTH NEED MEDICAL COVERAGE AND I AM TAKING DAILY MEDICATIONS WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD

    OUT OF POCKET. PLEASE RESPOND ASAP. DOES ANYONE WORK AT ANTHEM BS/BC?

  13. 4/20/2012 I have spent an hour holding and listening to music for the “customer service” dept. I tried other numbers and got a complete runaround. Anthem is a joke!

  14. Recently divorced with X-spouse to pay for my medical insurance until I’m 65. We both

    moved to Las Vegaas NV and had Blueshield of CA in California. The X has now transfered

    our insurance to Anthem bluecross blueshield and I was given a customer service phone

    #1-800-677-6669 but called many times stating BUSY CALL BACK. No returned calls and I

    need to know if X did infact get medical insurance since our current insurance expires

    the last day in March 2012. I need coverage at 63 years old and was told this was to be

    an inter-transfer only. PLEASE HELP. I’m not getting any cooperation with customer service

    just various phone numbers that lead me to other phone numbers. Does anyone there know

    how to handle my situation? It’s not a hard task to see if the X has done all the paperwork as he needs insurance at 63 also.

    I find that my doctor is charging me from three years bock. I need dostuffation in this regard to the past statements please.

    Ny name is Joanne from Florida and was a blue cross customer for a few years. I have switched not to United Health Care.

    In addition my insurance was never sent to Blue Fross/Blue Shield. This is how I see it.

    What do I need to do? I will file an appeal if I have to to the Insurance Commision of Florida.
