  1. I just bought my product and because it’s an older model the customer i spoke with said that she needed a date of purchase sent to her in email because the product is more then 4yrs old? Like.. Hello? I just bought it from Walmart and it’s missing crap. just send it out so i can use my vacuum! Not pleased at all with this company.

  2. I returned my cordless Dirt Devil for warranty replacement. Never got a replacement unit. Just ran around and voice mails. Wasted money for shipping the defective one as well.

  3. I have been using the dirt devil for about a year. My eureka works better than dirt devil. The belts on dirt devil break real easily. Like it is made out of cheap rubber. If you vaccuum and if there is some thread coming from your carpet the belt breaks. I can vaccuum over the same carpet and the eureka vaccumm belt doesn’t break. It is hard to come across money these days to keep buying belts for a vaccuum. If you vaccuum on the floor with the dirt devil the dirt kicks back out. Yea, the trash is dumped out of the dirt devil and the filter is clean and can breath. On this vaccuum you use a belt 12. So before anyone go buy model UD40180 trust me the belt will break quick. Dirt Devil what are yall going to do to improve the belts on your vaccuum cleaner. Am I a happy customer, NO!

  4. I got frustrated as well trying to find the correct filters for my vacuum. When I did find them, they were about $26 each and only last about three months, they are not the reuseable kind. I looked on AMAZON.COM and found a washable, reuseable filter for my vacuum and got two of them for a little under $12. They work great. Now if I could just find out why my Dirt Devil is so difficult to push forward, I will be happy with my DD again! Any suggestions?

  5. On 1/19/2012 I ordered filter for my dirt devil vacuum online from their website as I thought it would be genuine part. Unfortunately I still can’t get it shipped to me. So I called customer service to figure out what is going on with my order. Representative told me that my order is backordered which put me in big surprise because when I ordered it the filter was in stock. I told this info to representative and she transferred me to corporate office to clarify the situation. I waited for about 20 min and finally I was able to talk to someone there. She tried to convince me that my order is not backordered and the filter is available. Then I asked her when it will be shipped and she didn’t answer my question, she began to fool me around avoiding to answer my question that i had to repeat it again and again. Then I asked her to connect me to supervisor and she didn’t want to do it telling me that she is trying to help me. Finally I went out of patience and started to yell at her asking to give me a supervisor. Then I have to wait on a phone for supervisor. Her name is Debra and I’m putting her name here for you to know that none of the people who deal with customers are honest including supervisor. When I explained her the situation she began repeat again and again that there is 7 to 10 business days to get an order on what I told her that I do understand that it will take that long to get my order but I’m asking different question when it will be shipped. She continued to repeat that it will take 7 to 10 business days to get an order even though I clearly asked her a different question. Then I began to yell at her also because I couldn’t take this dishonesty anymore and spending my time not getting answer on my simple question and being fooled around by supervisor. Finally she told me that she will contact warehouse to release my order and it will be shipped today. When I asked her to send me an email about it she simple refused. So I really don’t know when I can get my item. I never had similar problem with any other company and I order online often. Usually my order ships next day but this company is really horrible with dishonest customer service representatives and supervisors. This is very sad. I decided to post my nightmare experience with this company to warn other people to not deal with them. They have to go out of business as they don’t do their jobs right and stress out the customers and taking their time to try to contact the company and wait on a phone forever and then listen to dishonest answers. As I said this is really, really bad and sad.I know for sure that I never will deal with this company again.

  6. I have been trying to reach Dirt Devil @ the number given above. l-800-321-1134. I was on hold for FORTY-FIVE MINUTES AND NEVER REACHED A CUSTOMER REP. I FINALLY GAVE UP. I WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER BUY A DIRT DEVIL AGAIN. I HAVE A CANISTER VACUUM AND CANNOT FIND THE FILTER AT ANY STORE I’VE GONE TO INCLUDING, SEARS, HOME DEPOT, LOWES, TARGET,WAL-MART, K-MART!!!!! I NEEDED TO ASK A CUSTOMER REP ABOUT THE FILTER AND NEVER GOT A REP OR A LOUSY FILTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!   7. Today I bought and tried out my new Dirt Devil ( Model SD12000), replacing my old one (Model 103)..

    I got a good hand held cleaner at a fair price. I had my old one for at least 25 years; I expect this new one to last as long. Thanks for a great product.

  8. Recently I inquired online as to problems I was having with my hand held dirt devil. After I took the steps provided as to possibly make the machine work again, I found that it would not. After advising your rep. I was soon contacted about my issue and advised that although based on the serial number I had provided, my warranty had expired, I was advised I was to receive a new dirt devil. Well…in no time at all, I did! It was really and pleasant surprise to have merchandise replaced when I assumed that all I would get was grief from customer service. I can’t thank your company enough for replacing my dirt devil and for the professional and swift response and conclusion. Thanks!
