  1. I received an invoice yesterday showing that i owe $5 for House Beautiful magazine. I received an “exclusive offer” in sept 2017 offering both HGTV and House Beautiful for just $12.I sent the $12 on 9/30/2017, ck#9314. Please get this corrected. I dont want to see another balance due bill. Thanks

  2. I just received an email “confirming” my subscription for one year for $10.00. I did not subscribe so cancel the House Beautiful magazine in my name.

I do not pay for items I did not order. I did no order this. I will not pay for this.

  3. I received a bill for subscribing to this magazine. I DID NOT SUBSCRIBE…KNOWINGLY. I THOUGHT I was entering an innocuous contest. I WILL NOT PAY THE BILL..DO NOT SEND THE MAGAZINE. 5. I give this site, Customer Service Numbers, five stars….without it I would not have located the number for Hearst Magazines. I repeatedly wrote to them because you are unable to contact Hearst on-line!? However, the issue was never resolved.

I spoke with Marie at 800-888-2665, and she was able to address and resolve my problem!

  6. Number worked perfectly, after a few prompts spoke to a representative – very nice and helpful. Thank you for not out sourcing to someone hard to understand. Very pleased, one more reason why I will continue my subscription and gift to others.

  7. Needed to cancel 2nd year gift subscription for daughter-in-law and by calling this number I was helped immediately by Lori who took care of my request. She was delightful

    and I appreciated her help.

  8. Thank goodness for this site! I used the phone # above and, after a few minutes of automated chat, I asked for “agent” and got Vanessa immediately.

Vanessa understood my request to cancel because I was sick of, year after year, being automatically renewed and sent a bill that became higher each year. Rather than cancel (which she was gladly prepared to do), she suggested she take me off the auto renew program and give me a much lower rate for the next year (from $18 yr down to $10 yr). She confirmed that I will not be auto renewed and that I will be notified when my subscription is ending and given the option to renew.

I am pleased with the way the agent handled my issue and with her no-pressure response to the matter.

  9. I too was trying to work within the “email system” A very inadequate way to do business.

I called this 800 number and the supervisor was very helpful. I have missed several issues of House Beautiful and she put a watch on this subscription. It may be the postal service or it may be House Beautiful/ Hearst Corporation. I have other magazines through the Hearst Corporation and after a few incidents they have begun to arrive on time. I did have a problem with T& C but it has been resolved.

I trust the postal watch will bring about results as to why this House Beautiful publication is not arriving. I enjoy the magazine and do wonder if we are facing a lot of theft in the delivery of these magazines. The publishers and magazines usually want to do a good job and work with the customer. I am completely opposed to the House Beautiful email customer service. It is absolutely inept in answering inquires and assisting with certain requests. The customer/subscriber receives a “canned reply” and because of “email” there is not interaction to go forward with questions. The customer must wait for another email response and the reply from H.B. is most often, not the answer to the question submitted.

A live person is the only way to obtain service. I am sorry true customer service departments with “live people” are disappearing from companies and businesses no longer operate to serve the customer. Cost is one thing but to antagonize a customer with “canned replies” through emails is a never ending spiral heading downward and the end of most companies.

I am so thankful House Beautiful and Hearst Corporation offer this 800. It must be hidden on their website but it is worth filing away.

  10. I too found it very difficult to find the number for cancelling my subscription. I got notice via Email stating that my payment was due now, yet my current subscription was continuing until September 2013! It was really doing something without my knowledge until after I received the message telling me it had already been renewed and payment was due now! It did not make any sense to me. There was still a few months remaining in the subscription I had paid for!!!

I called to cancel after hunting for awhile for the number to call and finally got it cancelled. I do not plan to renew with this magazine – really only for the affluent and those able to afford the featured items in the various articles and photographs.

  11. Really nice Customer Service from their call center in Iowa: (800) 444-6873. Yep, I never found it in the magazine. It’s cause the accountants look for every way to keep employees from actually talking to their readers so thereis more profit for the shareholders. I do my best NOT to deal with computer phone systems that take away employment.

  12. I’m not pleased with Hearst’s website, no number on there anywhere. I found the number here. Once I called, I got very good service. They need to put their phone number where people can see it.

  13. I just got my first issue and am so disappointed, I am retired and live in Florida and I did not realize this magazine is for very wealthy people only. I did not see anything but expensive products and way over the top displays. I wish I had my money back!!

  14. I want to know where to send my email to Newell Turner, Editor of House Beautiful, because

I want tell you the big things I did at HB. and at other mags at Hearst, where I had such a boost from John Mack Carter, Editor at GH. Did he make my feel good! YOu must know what he did for me. I think you should know about what I did at the Hearst magazines. It took me to heights!

  15. I NEED A PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT THIS MAGAZIN I HAVE SAND THE PAYMENT AND NEVER

RECEIVED THE MAGAZIN HOSE BEAUTIFULL/OPRAH I HAVE BILL BILLS AND MORE BILLS

  16. I agree with Lana. It’s even worse in my case….I have proof of the cancelled check I sent in to HB two months ago. I still have 10 months before the “year” ends. I recieved a “delinquent account” letter last week and it said that unless I pay now my “Subscription will be Suspended for Non-Payment”. If this is not an illeagl way to get people to suscribe it certainly should be. It’s immoral to say the least. I will be contacting the Virginia State Attorney General’s office and would suggest others do the same!

  17. Though the magazine itself is worthwhile, the customer “service” is appalling.

I routinely see the current issue on the newstand up to a week before I get my issue in the mail. It’s supposed to be the other way around!

And their customer “service” website doesn’t allow you to fill out the address form properly (the drop-down list for indicating your state does not work). Then it tells you it isn’t filled out properly. Well… duh!

I will not re-subscribe. Let them go bankrupt. They deserve to.

  18. I just called the 1-800-888-2665 and got help with with I needed – the billing address to send my check to. Not an easy thing to find! Mailing address is:

    P. O. Box 6000

    Harlan, Iowa 51593

  19. Hello everyone!

I found this site when I was searching for a customer service phone#. I needed to contact them because I actually DID receive my House Beautiful magazine, but not my free gift! But let me tell you, after reading all of these nightmare experiences you’ve all had, I was pretty skeptical! Let me just say…WOW! I just had one of the BEST customer service experiences EVER!!! I got a live person named Nikita upon my first request and she was SO HELPFUL! She told me the gifts are shipped separately and arrive within 6 to 10 weeks. She also happily, upon my request, changed my subscription from House Beautiful to Country Living, to which I was almost certain they would say no to that request! Anyway, I just wanted to encourage all of you…I’ sure there are more good experiences out there just waiting to happen! PS, I used the phone# 1-800-888-2665. Good luck!

  20. I was billed for this magazine for about 3 months after I eneted a home remodeling contest. I never even received an issue, just bills. Finding a number to call was like pulling teeth but once I got it I called and told them to stop sending me bills and hopefully this will be the end of it.

  21. Here is the customer service number to call

    (800) 444-6873 I called and just cancelled it and never paid because I too entered the contest to win a remodel or whatever and it subscribed me and I never wanted to and they kept sending me bills. I called and the recording has you just cancel and that’s it easy as that. I must say it was ridiculous having to search all over for a number, it’s not even on the bill they sent me, nor the website.

  22. Received magazine about 8 weeks after they received my payment. However did not receive the “free” gift with subscription advertized. Could not find their phone number and after searching their web site found an email contact. The only response was that they received my email and someone would contact me “shortly”. That was 5 days ago. I plan on cancelling my subscription and requesting a refund. I love the magazine but I don’t want anything to do with a company with such shoddy customer service.
