  1. I have sent you several emails regarding the labor charges. May I ask why my case is an exception? KIA has refunded customers for repairs on the same engine issue I experienced. I have found documents online that show KIA extended the warranty to 10 years or 120,000 miles, for any owner not just the original owner. So I would like to know why my vehicle, a 2013 Forte SX that was built in 2012 and has a Theta II engine is not included in the customer satisfaction effort. Is it simply because KIA slapped the name Forte on the rear of it? This motor is in all the following vehicles:
    Theta/Theta-II Engine – 2.4L (2359cc)[edit]
    (G4KC, G4KE, G4KG, G4KJ,)
    Hyundai Sonata (2006–2010)
    Hyundai Sonata GDI (2011-)
    Hyundai Sonata (2011-) (Middle East)
    Hyundai Tucson (2010-)
    Hyundai Santa Fe (2010-)
    Hyundai Starex (2007-)
    Kia Optima (2006–2010)
    Kia Optima GDI (2011-)
    Kia Rondo (2007-)
    Kia Cadenza GDI (2011-)
    Kia Sportage (2011-)
    Kia Sorento (2011-)
    Kia Forte (2010-2013)
So potentially all the cars on this list may seize. Based on these facts, how did KIA determined only Optima, Sportage, and Sorento owners should be alerted and compensated? Shouldn’t the service departments in all KIA dealerships alert all owners of these engines, not just the top 3 . What about the Rondo, Cadenza and Forte owners? Please explain why not all the bad engines are covered in KIA’s customer satisfaction efforts? Explain how owners who were never notified about Theta engine issues are responsible for repair costs?
I bought the car in November of 2015, the engine issue wasn’t public until 2017 and even then it wasn’t widely announced. Reminder: This car had 8 oil changes since Feb. 2013, the last being one on May 24, 2018 at the KIA dealership. When I spoke to KMA on June 14th, I was assured 7 oil changes were all it needed to meet the requirement for a full warrantied repair. That was my expectation. Still is.
In addition to this request, may I also ask for a breakdown on the parts and labor for my car? The transcript between KMA and KIA of Chattanooga showed the total was $4289. Part were $3218 and machine work of $250+. Labor should have only been $827. Is that correct?

  2. I have been trying since 1/13/17 to get a payoff so I can get my mortgage to underwriting. Each time I call Kia I’m given different information and promised I would get it within in 2 or 3 days (depending on who happens to answer the phone). A payoff can only be faxed, no email. Records of calls are sketchy, I was told my first call was on the 18th, and that my call to request the payoff was just received on the 23rd, as noted above I called on the 13th. I finally asked for a supervisor who said he would expedite it and I would get it (hopefully) that day. Nope! Called that evening to find out the status and the rep I spoke to said since I just requested the payoff I must wait 3 days. After a long discussion she finally said she could fax the original payoff that was supposedly sent but it was only good for the 23rd – the day I was speaking to her. This was the first time someone offered to print and fax the payoff to me instead of requesting the Payoff department to do so. Since customers cannot speak to the payoff department, I told her to fax it anyway because hopefully the bank can calculate the per diem. I was surprised to find that the payoff requested (10 day payoff with a per diem) does not really contain a per diem. In kia’s world the per diem is included in the 10 day payoff amount. She later asked if I wanted 10, 20, or 30 day payoff I told her to send all three and to send them all to both my mortgage company and my work fax . Kia does not email and evidently the fax does not work because neither myself or my mortgage company has received any payoff, Love my car but must say the next car will never be a Kia. Lastly, find it interesting that this site asks for an email yet Customer Service can’t utilize email to assist you. I’m also intrigued by the addition of “comments will be added pending approval by the webmaster” is that so reviews can be scrubbed of undesirable comments?

  3. I have had several problems with my 2014 Kia also and now they are wanting to really take us to the bank. My A/C stopped, paid $1200 to get if fixed and now it is not working again and guess what,,,,,they want another $1200. This is my 3rd Kia and I will make it my life work now to discourage anyone wanting to buy one of these inferior automobiles.

  4. OMG! I have a 2013 Kia Sorento that the exact same thing happened to and they refusd to replace the engine. They would not honor the warranty. I also had 2 transmissions fail which one they paid for and the other they didnt’ Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

  5. My husband and I are going through the same thing right now….. this is not right. I am getting our attorney involved. KIA is not doing things correctly and until someone sue them they are going to continue to do it….

  6. Bought a 2013 Kia Optima last December wrote all nice things on survey and this morning I had a flat tire, looked in trunk and NO SPARE TIRE !!!!!! Had a jack and everything else but no SPARE TIRE. NO I’m not going to call road side assistance to tow me into a service station when I have one right next door. My mechanic could not believe you sell cars with NO SPARE TIRE. I live in Florida and I’m 71 years old and there are plenty of people my age who don’t know this until they look into their trunk. WOULD NOT BUT ANOTHER KIA FOR THIS REASON!!!! Get with it Kia and put a spare in trunk.

  7. I recently purchased a 2014 Kia Sportage EX equipped with the All-Wheel Drive and the EX Premium Package. After driving the vehicle and enjoying many of the premium features on this vehicle, I was disappointed to realize that my model did not have Daytime-Running Lights. I have examined the various owner’s manuals that accompanied my vehicle and I have viewed many videos on your website, and I cannot believe that this basic feature is not standard on all Kia Sportages except for the higher-priced SX model. I have had daytime running lights on many of my vehicles over the years, including a modestly priced 1995 Geo Prism almost 20 years ago. In New York and many other states, drivers are required to turn their headlights on whenever it begins to rain. In many cars, the headlights automatically turn on when the windshield wipers are operating. This feature does not appear to be available on my model either. Why aren’t these safety-related features included on all Kia vehicles including my Sportage EX that has an MSRP well over $30,000? It just does not seem consistent with Kia’s exceptional reputation for building quality vehicles.

  8. I bought a 2012 Kia Soul in November 2011. So far I haven’t had any major problems with the car. My radio quit working. We thought it was a fuse and checked all fuses and as it turn out they were all good. Dealer did a diagnostic and informed me that the radio needed to be replaced. My car has 38,000 plus miles on it and I was informed that the radio was only under warranty up to 36,000 miles. I never heard of a radio going bad in any car. I have had many cars over the years and I can tell you even used cars that were run until they quit, and sometimes even the car itself dies or even rusts out, but the radio never quit working. Why on a car that is not even 3 years old has the radio gone bad? It’s not like the radio goes 24 hrs a day 7 days a week, and even if it did it should not have gone bad. Also what does the warranty on the car have to do with the radio? The radio does not run the car!!!! Also the carpeting in the Kia Soul is really cheap. The salt from the winter literally ate a hole in my carpeting. The mats are better carpeting that the floor of the vehicle and the salt came right out, but did not come out of the floor carpeting. You pay all that money for a car and carpeting is cheap. I have had other cars other than Kia over the years and never had this problem. I am truly disappointed in Kia and don’t know whether I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you.

  9. I am having the same issues. First I bought a 2014 Kia Forte right off the show room floor. 6 days later the sunroof leaked it has been fixed 3 times and still is not fixed. I am going back to the dealer today. I have done a lot of research on the UCC codes the Magnuson moss warranty act and the Lemon law. I have a lot of ground to stand on. when I had owned the car for a total of 48 days they had had it in there shop for over 33 of them. If They don’t resolve it today I will be talking with an attorney about a class action law suit. You should email me if you want

  10. I like to know the rates for a I10 Hundai 2013 for its 60000 km service? Last Month Ultra Motors in Welkom said R2000, then R2400 this morning they told us R2600! Please is there a standard rate?

  11. I buy a 2013 Kia optima sxl cash date 07/14/13 by 04/24/14 the aircondition went out no power in the system I not happy…..

  12. I own a 2012 Kia Optima. I purchased it in 2012. So far I am pleased with this vehicle. I do not rely on the dealership for anything except routine maintenance, which has been on par with most other companies. The only knock on the vehicle is that the driver side rear door sounds different than the others when closed. Almost like it’s a completely different material altogether. That said, the car drives smoothly, has great acceleration and handling, good gas mileage and great features. Also, you won’t break the bank to get it. I like Subaru and Nissan, too, but my experience at those dealerships and price are ultimately why I went back to Kia. Just goes to show, you run into ignorant a**holes everywhere. One dealership does mean it’s a bad company, but they do represent. If you have a bad experience, go up the ladder until someone takes care of it. Eventually, someone will listen.

  13. Hi I bought 2005 kia Sorento ex , it began over heating . so I changed the thermostat and antifreeze . and it still over heating .Now if the a/c unit is discharged & disconnected , will that make it over heat . that is what someone is telling me . and I think it maybe the water pump , and I don’t think there is air in the system . 14. My daughter 2013 Optima has a starting problem, at times car will not start with remote in position especially in a gas station, the only time car start is repositioning the remote close to the steering wheel, this is very frustrating. The dealer unable to diagnose the problem because it happens intermittently. Is the remote bad or is it an electrical communication issue?
