  1. I am in the process of updating my house. I came into an inheritance and have two checkbooks that the money was put into to. I have had various issues with checks being declined at Lowes, Walmart, and I believe Home depot. This has put in in a bad position of having to pay contractors for their time but not having the materials to do the the job. I am disgusted with this company for my loss of time, wasted written checks of which I have a limited supply, and ordering new checks and waiting for them to come in. I would like to put in a formal complaint regarding this company.

  2. don’t pay off your bill by check at SEARS. Your $600 check will be withdrawn from your bank account that day and two days later $600 more from Telecheck. You are left having to do the endless phone calls and verification attempting to rectify the mistake.

  3. I keep being put “on hold” forever. I tried to call that 800-964-9400 and I got a recording saying, “congratulations, you’ve just won a trip to the Bahamas.” There needs to be a “Class Action Lawsuit” filed against Telechek and I’ll guarantee they will stop this crap.

    Let’s find an attorney who will file a class action lawsuit.

    Telechek, I want my name off your list now!!! I want my checks approved now!!! I have never written a bad check. What is a Code 6 anyway?!!

  4. I have been jerked around by TELECHECK 2 times now. I was embarrassed in Meijer, given the run around and charged a return check fee on a check that shouldn’t have been returned. Adding to this was the customer service at Amazon. This is the second time that Telecheck has caused be trouble. The first time was with CVS. I will be doing my best to avoid merchants that use TELeCheck, I will never go to Meijer again. I stopped going to CVS. I am 68 years old and do not need this crap. To the web master, if you decide not to post this, okay, but I do not intend to stop here.

  5. i had two checks which did not clear at the bank which i had wrote at wal mart. before i new their was a problem i had paid all my bills and had money in the bank i though. the problem came because i had over looked a payment and didn’t deduct in my ledger. well the next process of running my returns thru the so many times empty the money i had to cover return check fees it caused all the checks which had been written to fail also. i was not notifed from telecheck i had retured checks and the late fees went thru the roof and removed all i had and left me flat broke. in other words these people robbed me!!!!!!!!!!!!! it had in less than a few days.instead of just a one time late check fee they felt at will to get all they could get. THIS SHOULD BE A CRIME AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED RIGHT AWAY. THE BANKS FEES AND THIS COMPANYS FEES TOOK EVERY DIME. i’m disable and get one check a month. please/ something needs to be done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! about how bad this. it is out of control. new regs need to be written

  6. i haven,t never written a bad check in my life have perfect credit this is twice in this year tel check had me on there black list.I had them check my bank routing number and my account, put in there system still nothing on me

    i was so upset that. i couldn’t get the grocery for my family that day.I call couldn’t get a person to talk with me at all I sent them a letter call BBB .I got a number and they remove my name from there list. Now today sit happen again.Now i got to do this crap again. you people need to get your crap together……lee

  9. I tried to return 3 tops (without a receipt) I received for Christmas and was denied because they said that I had a check on file (bad check I’m assuming). I do not write checks and have never had any notification that a bad check was written at Walmart (Florissant, Missouri). I got a ticket from the cashier with these numbers on it:

    ST# 05927 OP# 000352 TE# 92 TR# 02274

    I called the 800 number and could not speak to a human and the recording just gave me the run around and now I’m worried someone is using MY identity writing bad checks. HOW CAN I RESOLVE THIS SITUATION!

    I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY KIND OF NOTICE ABOUT A BAD CHECK FROM EITHER TRS, WALMART, OR MY BANK.

  10. No reason can be given for the declination and a live person is not available, how did this service/company stay in business 50 years. Never written a bad check and driving this company from business has become my personal mission because this is not customer service and does not need to be in business.

  11. Telecheck is a trash company. I’ve been writing corporate checks forever and out of nowhere without any increased activity they code 3 my check. Sad thing is I had funds and multiple business involving Telecheck. I will be cancelling all contracts involving them. They will lose 200 company contracts because of this incident and rude customer service.

  12. I was recently denied access to my personal checking account by TeleCheck for something “negative” on some “report”! Found this out by talking to someone in the Phillipines! Any store using TeleCheck should be boycotted. I will no longer shop @ Wal-Mart as they provide this “service”? The fact that TeleCheck, located in Houston Texas, can block the use of my personal checking account in Ohio is outrageous & totally unacceptable. My personal checking account has more than enough funds to support writing numerous checks.

    TeleCheck should not be allowed to be in business, watch out folks for this “company”!

  14. Yesterday I tried to return some lil casers that had been recalled at Walmart. Refund denied.

    That is all that was shown. I called the TRS Revovery Service but was never able to connect to a live person.

  15. Checks being denied and not for writing bad checks but because they decided that the account does not have enough check writing info for them. I contacted the company and their response was “sorry for the inconvience however you need to find another way of paying and there is nothing we can do”, so we have been denied access to OUR money, not theirs by them. We were told to continue to write checks however they may or may not go through! I feel this is discrimination on EVERY LEVEL!!!!!! Called the bank and there is nothing they can do and this situation has cost us a new truck along with other purchases and THEY DO NOT CARE!!! Customer service make is perfectly clear that too bad too sad and screw the consumer!

  16. I was declined at Wal-Mart today for a $160 check. I was in there a month ago and wrote a check which I had no problem with? So I get the CODE 3 on the receipt, left my cart at the counter (embarrassing), and called the number on the receipt when I got back to work. That’s right, I have a steady income and no history of bad checks what so ever, but was denied. The rep said that I don’t have a stable history of check writing and pose as a risk to the store. I’m so mad. He told me to go back to the store, try to run it again, because he put a flag on my account making it less of a risk of fraud… FRAUD?….really?! Yea, I’m stealing my own checks and using my account without my permission. Idiots. It’s not fair to people for Tele Check to control how and when they spend their money. If I have money in my account, I should be able to use it! Also, How am I supposed to build a history of good check writing if you wont even let me purchase to begin with?! #RantOver #TelecheckSUCKS

  17. I just spent two hours on the phone with a merchant, my bank, and TRYING to get through to someone at Telecheck who said our account was CLOSED. The check is good, but Telecheck decided differently and there was no way to talk with anyone at Telecheck about this problem. They require you to give the whole tracking number of the check (18 or 19 numbers?); date of check; number of check; and amount of check, plus zip code TWICE and then hit # key and the 1 key to confirm. Finally got a live(?) human being who put me on hold for ten minutes and then disconnected. Telecheck needs to get its information correct and act more professionally. I could not hear the person because of all the noise in the background — sounded like a party going on. Not professional at all!

    We’ve done business in the same place for over 30 years and this is the first problem we have had with a check not clearing.

    Shame on you, Telecheck. You need to make your people more accessible to those who are calling. Two hours wasted this morning thanks to TELECHECK. I should call the Better Business Bureau!

  18. Paid off my home depot account at the store with a cashier’s check from the bank and telecheck took the money from the bank and then tried to get the money a second time. When they were denied the second time they told home depot that the check was declined and then home depot put the $14,000 back on my credit card. Telecheck tells me the check was declined, home depot is harassing me for the payment and now the bank has to go through their records and find the check and prove that they did not get the money back…as telecheck is trying to tell me they gave the money back to the bank. When I told telecheck to prove that they gave the money back, they told me they could not give me the information because the check was not mine, it came from a bank. This is a nightmare and I will not ever make a payment this way again! The stores should stop using this service but they won’t unless they have to deal with all the angry customers.

  19. I also can not reach any real people on the numbers provided. I came to the web and got the 888 number and reached someone? After questioning if the whole set up was a scam to gather unneeded financial information the person hung up. Don’t give out personal data to computer scam artist.

  20. my check was declined at Walmart last nite. $ in bank. I called Telechek. Said my DL # was attached to a case in another bank in another town. NOT MINE. Went to my bank this AM. No problem there. Called other bank in other town, no record of my DL # or any problem with me. Called Telechek, AGAIN. Said someone gave me a check 4 years ago, now, this person’s credit was bad so they declined my check, thinking I could help them locate this person. BUT wouldn’t tell me person’s name. I can’t remember YESTERDAY, much less 4 years ago! LIVID?

    Said problem would be rectified in 72 hours. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! Was so embarrassed last nite in Walmart. Been banking at same bank for 32 years. Never a declined check. What gives Telecheck the right to manipulate me and my account because of this? Horrible experience. Done with Walmart and any businesses that use Telecheck. Never heard an apology, or any remorse, either.

  21. I wrote a large check to Walmart this morning and Telecheck bounced it even after I called them. Walmart blamed it on my banking company. My bank said they had nothing to do with Telecheck and had no kind words for them. Telecheck said my check was statistically larger than I usually write so they flagged it. Who the H— are they to approve my checks? I’m now going to talk to Walmart this afternoon and I’m sure they’ll be glad to see me leave.

  22. Had my first experience with TeleCheck this week with two checks not honored at two different businesses. My bank has no idea why. When I called the company, the first staff member and the acting manager both said the same which is basically that I am writing checks outside my normal practice, and they are trying to protect me from fraudulent activity on that account. They couldn’t deviate from that script. Both were very difficult to understand as both had distinctive Spanish accents which didn’t help facilitate communication.

    I will call tomorrow in an attempt to try to obtain specific information on exactly how many checks I am allowed to write per week on an account. We have four different checking accounts from four different local banks. Though our funds are more than ample, that doesn’t matter if the checks are not accepted!

    During this same period, other checks written at Walmart were honored. Checks at Walgreen and Bed, bath, and Beyond were not. Perhaps the businesses that use this service should be avoided. Perhaps I will be forced to go to the use of a bit card which I didn’t really want to do.

    It is embarrassing to have a check declined. It makes no difference to know that your have more than sufficient funding when it doesn’t go through.
