1. Guys if you want a good watch you can be proud of and pass down for several generations, buy an Elgin National Watch Co. pocket watch preferably in a Hunter case and all you have to do is wind it. No batteries to buy and about every 10 to 15 years you will need to have it cleaned and oiled by a competent Jeweller and it will last you for a lifetime. I have an 1892 model that still runs and keeps good time. I also gave my son my Dad’s old Elgin watch that he bought in 1935 and all it needed was cleaning and it is doing him a good job right now. He is very proud of it and will pass it down to his son someday. You can get a good Elgin Railroad Quality watch on eBay for around $150 and it will do you a good job. (19 to 23 jewel). These watches feel as though they have a “soul” and will become a part of you after you carry it for a few years. Good Luck.

2. I have Elgin ladies wrist watch! Been trying FOR MONTHS ON END TO GET A RETURN CALL OR EMAIL TO GET EXTRA LINKS!! SORRIEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I’VE EVER HAD!!!!

3. Bought a black and gold Elgin watch had it a year and it is dead and new battery would not help it. I bought a silver one because I liked the look of it, it lasted 4 months , I bought a gold one that I should not have and it lasted 4 months, there is no phone # to call, I got an address and no reply, Please tell everyone, DO NOT buy an Elgin watch . They are trash and no one to contact if there becomes a problem

4. I bought an Elgin watch about twenty to twenty two years ago and all I did to it was put a new battery in it every couple of years. I loved that watch so much that I bought another Elgin watch and I have had more compliments on this watch than any other item that I have ever owned.
