  1. I also had to pay for an extra month which I didn’t get to use. I had cancelled their service but kept getting a bill. All they know is “when are you going to pay your bill?” They then turned my account over to a collection agency. I wouldn’t do business with Direct TV again.

  2. I have been with Direct TV for over 10 years….All of a sudden they put me on paperless billing without my consent. I am a senior and do not want paperless billing. After several calls to Direct TV to obtain my bill in the mail it has been over a month and still have not received a bill. Now they are threating to disconnect my service if I do not pay them online, which I am not and will not set up to do. During the month of July, 2016 I have called them over six times and each time they tell me they are sending me another bill, which I have yet to receive. They suggested it perhaps is a problem with the postal service. I assured them I would understand one bill being lost in the mail but according to them they have sent out six bills this month and I have yet to received any of them so I really do not think it is a problem with the postal service. The problem is Direct TV and there incompetent employees that are not from the USA. As far as I am concerned I will leaving Direct TV ASAP because they suck. From the complaints listed a lot of other individuals feel the same way.

  5. Not happy with DTV. False advertisement on fee after 1st year. Suppose to be 29.95 and our bill 49.95. Manager named Sarah was no help. She said she would send an email, never did. I will never recommend you to anyone. Cant wait till my contact is up, then I’m going the over the air service. So, thumbs down with DTV. Do not buy DTV.

Called to possibly cancel after 13 years…as I’m retired and don’t have a lot of $ at this point…I received a $7/mo discount on HBO; a $35/mo discount on my choice package; the HD fee was waived ($10/mo) and got NFL Red Zone for free….Overall, I’m staying with DirecTv with a $52/ mo bill reduction.

  7. How do I reset my DIRECTV receiver cable box?

    Method 1: Press the Reset button

    Image On some DIRECTV receivers there is a red reset button located inside the access card door on the front panel. Press it, then wait for your receiver to reboot.

    Note: On some receiver models, the reset button is on the side of the receiver.

    Method 2: Unplug your receiver

    Unplug your receiver’s power cord from the electrical outlet, wait for 15 seconds, and plug it back in.

    Press the Power button on the front panel of your receiver. Wait for your receiver to reboot.

  8. I signed up for DIRECT TV for my wife. She passed away October 2013. I can not watch tv so I cancelled early. DIRECT TV said they were billing my credit card the early cancellation fee of three hundred plus dollars, – the same card they used to bill me, and get paid every month. Now, yesterday, 3/11/2013 I received a call from a collection agency for the early cancellation fee. I called DIRECT TVs customer service number to find out why they did not put the charge on my credit card as they said they were going to do. Her advice was just pay the collection agency to save my credit. I think that if you do cancel they try to ruin your credit as retaliation. I have never in my life been turn in for collection and I am almost 80 years old. Shame on you DIRECT TV for what you do to people.

    But they tacked it on anyway and charged me for it!!!

    I hate this company and the programming is the worst !!!!

    You pay for info channels and not much else..

    I could go on but won’t waste my time..

    Will be leaving the Direct family even though I will pay 20 month for early termination ..

    Best 100 I will ever spend… Basic cable is so much better!!!

    try and fix my problem. His recommendation was to change the HDMI cable. I have done so

    and I am still getting no signal. The DVD player works I am getting power to the TV. I believe it is

    in the Direct receiver. I will recall your customer service and go from there.

  16. I just had a very positive experience with DirecTV . They were able to walk me through what I needed to do, which was pair the remote to the tv. My representative was courteous and most helpful. I had no problem getting through to a real person and was connected to that person in less than a minute and I was on the phone less than 5 minutes.

  19. I’m getting an Error Code 771 with DIrecTV

    771 is an error code that indicates your receiver is having trouble communicating with your satellite dish.

    As a result, your TV signal may be interrupted.

    In rare instances, the signal between your dish and the satellite might be temporarily lost due to a severe storm. If you are currently experiencing heavy rain, hail, or snow, please wait for it to pass before proceeding with the steps below. In the meantime, you can still enjoy your favorite entertainment—live or On Demand—on your laptop, tablet, or cell phone.

    Steps to Take

    1. Your cables may be loose. Check all the connections between your receiver and the wall outlet, starting with the SAT-IN (or SATELLITE IN) connection, and make sure they’re secure.

    Note: If you have any adaptors connected to the cable, please check them as well.

    2. You may have a SWiM Power Inserter (pictured on the right) attached to the DIRECTV cable coming from your dish. Unplug it from the electrical outlet, wait for 15 seconds, and plug it back in.

    Note: Do not plug in the SWiM Power Inserter to a power outlet that can be turned off.

    3. If you can easily see your satellite dish, check to see that there’s nothing blocking the line of sight from the dish to the sky. DO NOT climb your roof. If you can’t safely remove the obstruction, please contact us to schedule a service call.
