In the past I have sung praise for Avianca. I cannot do that after this week's events.

Avianca's new website crashes all the time.I have talked to several people who had this experience. It crashed on me Monday March 27th when running my credit card. As it failed to charge my card, I decided to try again the next day. It failed again so I gave up... until I received 2 confirmation emails for 2 identical tickets. Now they won't refund them. I am supposed to fly in 2 days.

Guess it pays to have a website that crashes and bad customer service.

My advice - don't book anything on Avianca until they fix their issues.

You guys are the WORSE BUT HEAR ME WELL THE WORSE AIRLINE EVER. Me and my husband went to our honeymoon on Europe in our way back unfortunately we have to make a connexion with this thing that you guys call "airline ". We got to the airport in Bogota, we were supported be on the flight at 7:29 pm going back to Quito, Ecuador. When we got to the counter the worless employee who was at the counter, told us that we weren't register at the flight from Madrid, excuse what does have to do with us when those tickets we're purchase five months in advanced and it is your responsibility to deal with your flight, not Iberia airlines because they don't work on your counter. Employees at that counter thought that they probably own the airplane or perphas they have a wonderful job. Listen you worthless thing ...you are just an employee there. Layers telling us that the flight was full and they will try to put us on that flight. They put everybody on the flight by us. After a long flight dealing with your stupidity was just worse thing ever. Don't waste your money or time fliyng with this nasty airline, and have to deal with those ticket counters employee that they think they are beauty's from heaven. Ugly Colombians.

AVIANCA YOU ARE A BUNCH OF LIERS AND AN INCOMPETENT AIRLINE, THE WORSE AIRLINE I HAVE EVER DEALED WITH! I AM WAITING FOR A REFUND BECAUSE OF A MISTAKE THAT AVIANCA MADE ON A CHANGE OF RESERVATIONS, MY WIFE AND 2 KIDS HAD TO FLY EARLIER THAN EXPECTED FROM EL SALVADOR TO LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA, WHEN I CALLED TO MAKE THE CHANGES, THEY ALSO CHANGED MY MOTHER IN LAW'S RESERVATION, WHICH WAS NOT SUPOSSED TO BE CHANGED IN THE FIRST PLACE, ON TOP OF THE 175 DOLLARS FOR CHANGING DATES THAT I PAID PER TICKET, THEY CHARGED ME 175 DOLLARS FOR MY MOTHER IN LAW'S TICKET THAT WAS CHANGED BY MISTAKE ON THEIR END. I CALLED BACK AS SOON AS I SAW THE CHARGES SO THAT THEY CAN MOVE MY MOTHER IN LAW BACK TO HER ORIGINAL SCHEDULE AND HAD TO SPEND 2 HOURS ON THE PHONE FOR THAT TO HAPPEN, IT HAS BEEN 25 DAYS AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET MY 175 DOLLARS BACK. THEY KEEP SAYING THAT THEY WILL TALK TO A SUPERVISOR AND GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND. PLEASE DO NOT FLY WITH THESE AIRLINE THEY WILL LIE TO YOU AND MAKE YOU WAIT FOREVER TO GET A SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM EVEN IF IT IS THEIR FAULT.

12/3/2013 Avianca USA - Avianca untrustworthy airline
Untrustworthy airline. Lied to our faces about being denied boardsing in Cusco (they were short staffed and overwhelmed with travelers) Lied about the flight coupons they gave us (under MUCH pressure) and when shown the webpage listing the policy for flight coupon usage - said they weren't going to honor their policy - THAT one was the truth! Stole from the checkin bags that were ziptied shut - after the secondary inspection in front of me. Unable to get a response from customer service via phone, in person or mail. Don't you find it odd that no one (and I really mean no one) has any email addresses of anyone in corporate?

2/4/2013 Avianca USA - You are absolutely the Worst Airline ever for all
You are absolutely the Worst Airline ever for all of the below.

-For losing my bag of very important tools and machines and not being able to trace them.

-For Lying to me more than 5 times about the situation

-For trying to avoid all possible claims and avoiding to speak to me.

Please see below.
Summary

27th Jan :
-Arrived myself and Mr. SY Kim from ICN Korea via Dulles, US to Bogota via KE093/AV247
-Four of our luggages did not arrive with us (Tag KE776801/802/776753/752)
-Avianca told us that they will arrive the next day and deliver to our hotel directly

28th Jan :
-We postponed our meeting with client 1 day(to 30th).
-We called Avianca, they said they will deliver to our hotel next day.
-This is not acceptable because we need to make the important meeting(us$20million worth)
- We went to Bogota Airport ourselves to pick up the luggage.(stayed from 21:30~02:00 ? 4.5hours)
- Only 3 bags from total of 4 bags came. This missing bag(KE776801) consists of the most important tools for the meeting.
- After 4.5 hours of waiting, Avianca Called Washington office and confirmed that it was there.
-We requested Avianca to send the bag directly to Seoul since we already lost the meeting opportunity. They confirmed the flight no.

29th Jan :
-We had to miss our meeting with client because of the luggage not Arriving.
-When we were leaving to Atlanta to come back, we got a call that it was in Bogota.A day before, We have been confirmed that the luggage was in Washington D.C and Avianca told us that it will be sent to Seoul.
-They have then, told me that it was actually sent to La Paz by accident has now returned to Bogota.
-We again told Avianca that this should be sent to Seoul. We had to get on beard Delta Airline.
-They confirmed the flight no.(via JFK) promised that Avianca will make sure it will be sent to Seoul.(Ms. Cristina Beltran)

1st Feb :
-We have arrived to ICN in Korea. We went to Korean Air Desk as told by Avianca.
-They had not received anything. We called Avianca. Mr. Benjamin answered and told us it 100% sure that it got on the plane to ICN.
-Korean Air could not find in the system any departure of the luggage after it arrived to Bogota.
-Mr. Benjamin told me that he will call after he check the system and with Avianca office of New York.

3rd Feb :
-We called again to the Bogota office. (+57 1 587 7700 ext.3276)
-We talked to Benjamin. He said He doesn't know anything.
-We also talked to Mr. Carlos Andres. He said he will check and call back. He said that they are maybe in the TSA office

-After 30 minutes, I called ICN Korean Air office for Lost and Found. They told me that their Korean Air Employees saw the bag in Avianca area.
-They picked it up themselves and they put it on board their own selves. The bag is reported to arrive in ICN late afternoon on the 5th of Feb.
-They told me that I have to pay for the delivery from the ICN airport to my office. I have to pay the delivery charge!

As seen in above summary, I have missed the most important meeting of my career.
I have tracked down more than 6 people of Avianca and everyone told me lies. Not once their comment turned out to be true.

You are lying people and have no respect for customer safety and care. I am writing this same report to ICAO(International Civil Aviation Organization) and will do everything I can until I recieve an officila apology from you which I have not recieved at all until now.

Now I am trying to get information in how to use the such call airport to airport services/mailingand, I started to review Avianca's customesrs feedback. Sad 90% is negative no changes since the last time I was dealing with Avianca 40 years ago SAD SAD. Maybe i get lucky and someone will contact me with the correct information

Tried to purchase tickets on the web but it wouldn't accept the phone/cc info. Made a call to customer service & the agent booked the wrong flight. After booking the correct flight, the agent informed me that it was more expensive - I accepted. My cc was approved for the 1st flight but rejected the 2nd. Avianca has not yet issued a refund & I am contesting the charge. Called to get approval for the correct & was hung up at three times with no resolution. I will book on another airline. Avianca is AWFUL!!!

6/29/2012 Avianca USA - My boyfriend and I were to fly to Peru for one
My boyfriend and I were to fly to Peru for one month, then he was in a terrible accident. He was run over by a dump truck leaving him in the hospital for three months. During those three months I spent nearly 4 hours per day ( PER DAY!!) on the phone with this company trying to get our tickets cancelled. Finally they decided they will refund his but not mine because we are NOT MARRIED. Even though the tickets were purchased together and on my card. After being too exhausted to fight any longer we agreed to take his money back and say goodbye to mine. The only problem is we NEVER GOT HIS MONEY BACK!!! It is now July and we have been fighting with them since March. Like a previous person said they send you through this endless ringer of submitting docs online, which doesnt accomplish anything. Then the customer service like is a NIGHTMARE. I have caught them in a lie numerous times! They just tell me the refund is coming to get me off the phone. We will never get his money back or mine. $2,000 that Avaianca will just keep and there is NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT.

This airline is a nightmare. Even hotwire.com attempted to contact their customer service and became so frustrated that they gave up! They said we are on our own.

Whatever you do NEVER FLY with these people and dont let anyone you care about give them their money!

5/7/2012 Avianca USA - Avianca representative in the airport made a
Avianca representative in the airport made a mistake and instead of flying first class I had to fly coach. I asked for refund of the price difference. I was told to e-mail them all the information like my ticket stubs, copy of my passport, etc. which I did. I called them, send and resend e-mails and all I get is a runaround. Never flying with Avianca again.

I must disagree with the negative comments, I've been flying with avianca ever since I could remember and even now at 27 I am still extremely satisfied with the company in regards to time, yes one might encounter a rude personnel rarely, but in my own opinion i've tried other airline (I really have) but I'm happy to say am still a frequent avianca flyer.

I've been trying to book a flight online. Avianca website took all my info and my credit card info as well, but all I got was a pending confirmation. With a 12 hours to complete the process. This was in a tuesday 2pm , today is friday 10am and nothing has been confirmed yet. Worst experience and worst custmer services ever.
