THEY WONDER WHY WE ARE ANGRY?
"A boy named Harold "

Harold was a bright child. He grew up in America. He went to school and had a bright future ahead of him.

Harold was full of life but was cut short in a violent moment. While few people had ever heard of Harold before his death, many did afterward. And in death, something very shocking happened. What was so shocking, especially when it is compared to the death of someone else recently in the news?

Harold was Harold Greene, Major General, United States Army.

On Aug. 5, 2014, Major General Greene was killed by a Taliban terrorist. He was the first returned to America with full military honors.

It has been a tradition that the president attends the funeral of general and flag officers killed in the line of duty.

Richard Nixon attended the funeral of a major general killed in Vietnam and George W. Bush attended the funeral of Lieutenant General Timothy Maude, who was killed in the 9/11 attacks.

While Major General Greene was buried, Barack Obama was golfing. The vice president wasn't there either. Neither was the secretary of defense. Flags were not even lowered to half staff. https://www.washingtonpost.com/.../obamas-silence...

Four days after Harold Greene gave his life for America, Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson, Missouri. Brown was at best a thug. In the minutes before his death, he committed a robbery at a local convenience store. According to other reports, Brown struck Officer Darren Wilson and shattered his orbital bone.

Obama sent a three-person delegation to Brown's funeral! Obama would not attend the funeral of the highest ranking military officer killed in the line of duty since 9/11, yet he sent a delegation to the funeral of a thug.

When Margaret Thatcher, one of America's staunchest allies and Ronald Reagan's partner in bringing down Soviet communism, died, Obama sent only a small low-level delegation to her funeral.

The snub was not missed by the British.

When Chris Kyle, the most lethal American sniper in history was murdered, there was no expression of sympathy from the White House.

But when Whitney Houston died from drug overdose, Obama ordered all flags be flown at half mast.

There was no White House delegation at the funeral of an American hero. American heroes die and Obama goes to the golf course. A thug dies and he gets a White House delegation.

No wonder most "REAL" Americans hold Obama in such contempt, especially members of our Military.

And the only difference between Obama and Hillary is that she doesn't play golf!

Michael, I hear you speak every day of where we are going under the evil Obama administration. It is obviously downward. You also mentioned today that there are not many of us remaining Americans who think about the state we are in today. That is where I disagree with you. There is a vast number of us who hate what we see going on in our nation today, our hearts are broken, and yet there is a boiling anger just waiting to be unleashed. That anger is simply waiting for a leader, someone to say "This is where and how we unite to fight and destroy this scourge that has set upon us". My question is how and when does this leader emerge? Is it Donald Trump? I hope so, but I see a lot of conflict with Mr. Trump. I am all in for Mr. Trump, don't get me wrong, he definitely has the right idea. There are so many others on the other side who, as you mentioned today as well, who have there faces planted in their damned hand held devices they cannot lift their heads up long enough to look around. But those morons will probably stop long enough to vote the criminal Hillary just to keep going with what they have. They will die as sheep when the muslims invade, plain and simple.

How can anyone listen to Savage anymore? I used to enjoy the program but as time goes by & all he does is treat us like idiots, plugging Trump 3 out of 3 hours. Is that all hes got? Oh no, hes also very very smart & full of himself & continually telling us that. Hes also rude to many listeners, cutting them off, & then as usual putting in his .99 cents," cuz hes so intellectual." Far beyond us. Bye bye Mike....

3/11/2016 Contact Michael Savage - Glenn Beck the "Little Hemorrhoid" is at it again
Glenn Beck the "Little Hemorrhoid" is at it again going after Alex Jones, Matt Drudge, and Donald Trump right now in March 2016. He now has something to really cry about, with his show in free fall and soon when Donald J.Trump becomes president, it will be in cardiac arrest. Dr. Savage could you possibly go on the Alex Jones Show and expose the lies of the Little Hemorrhoid; as well as shine the light on the Fake and hopefully the Little Hemorrhoid will melt like the wicked witch of the west. Back in 2009 he was plagiarizing your show daily and people need the truth from folks like you and Alex Jones to cast this Fake, Phony, and Fraud into the abyss of forgetfulness.
Thank You
Paul

2/3/2016 Contact Michael Savage - Dear Michael Savage, I am leaning toward voting for Donald Trump
Dear Michael Savage,

I am leaning toward voting for Donald Trump in the upcoming election, but I will not vote
for him unless he changes his views on helping the disabled, which includes the vast majority of the
mentally ill. This means not taking away or reducing welfare and entitlement benefits. You refer to
them as "SDSI" checks.

But many people who have to have "issues" can't work at the present time and need
a system of support, basic safety nets. Donald Trump would never hire someone who is mentally ill or disabled to work in one of his corporations, and definitely, he would never hire them to work on his show "The Apprentice".

Ted Cruz has even less desire to help out the disadvantaged. He wants to eliminate welfare and entitlements totally because he says that "it's not in the constitution". Yet Ted Cruz wants to continue supporting the "cream of the crop" at all of the large corporations.

The vast majority of mentally ill by the way (80%) are NOT dangerous and have NO interest in buying a gun. But they do need a system of support, welfare and entitlements until each individual mentally ill or disabled person feels that he or she is ready to go back to work and take direction from supervisors, customers and co-workers on a continuous contiguous basis meaning every time they're told to do something they do it.

Bernie Sanders has some of these same views but I feel he would not make a good commander-in-chief. Trump would make a good commander-in-chief. But he has to understand that there are people out there that are not fit for work, are having issues and need the right system of support

1/18/2016 Contact Michael Savage - Dear Dr. Savage I feel it is critical to teach Standardized English, properly
Dear Dr. Savage,

Let me begin by saying thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to read this e-mail, I’m sure it’s just one of hundreds you receive every week.

My name is William Birdyshaw and I am a recent graduate student from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After earning an undergraduate degree in Communications, I decided that I wanted to use my education to promote cultural assimilation in the United States by teaching English to foreign students. As more and more immigrants are arriving in the US seeking a better life for themselves and their families, I feel it is critical to teach Standardized English, properly, by discouraging students from practicing colloquial dialects like “Ghetto English“ or “Ebonics” inside a classroom; ask any professional employer and they will gladly tell you that such language is not acceptable in a workplace.

Towards the end of my first semester of graduate studies, I was called into the office of my ESL professor, Dr. Susan Spezzini, who told me, “You cannot use the words “ghetto” or “Ebonics” in reference to African Americans, it’s highly offensive! The proper term is “African American Vernacular” and you’re lucky you didn’t get an F for plagiarism!” Consequently, I decided to withdraw from the ESL program and pursue my graduate studies, elsewhere.

I would now like to address any and all false claims of "plagiarism" made by Dr. Susan Spezzini. First and foremost, I never plagiarized any writing assignment as an undergraduate student or a returning graduate student in the ESL program at UAB and I can prove it. I have anti-plagiarism software on my computer that compares my writing with all major sources of copyright printed material in addition to all internet sources of digital media protected under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA). None of my submitted work has ever indicated an action of academic plagiarism or copyright infringement, whatsoever. Bearing this in mind, the question still remains: Why the sudden change from straight "A’s" on all my previous writing assignments to a final grade of "B" in EESL 627? The true reason is because I had the intellectual fortitude to challenge the position of an assistant professor, Dr. Virginia Oxford, on the subject of “White Privilege” from an article she selected for student commentary.

According to Peggy McIntosh, author of White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack, “White Privilege is like an invisible weightless knapsack of special provisions, maps, passports, codebooks, visas, clothes, tools and blank checks.” When I asked my fellow classmates if “Anyone in the room could produce one item from this so-called ‘knapsack’ for our consideration” no one was able to do so. Furthermore, I stated, “This article reminded me of the movie Philadelphia,” in which actor Denzel Washington reads aloud from a case line court decision, “This is the essence of discrimination: formulating opinions about others not based on their individual merits, but rather on their membership in a group with assumed characteristics.” In this case, Washington was referring to discrimination against a gay man who was fired from his job because he had AIDS. In the case of

Peggy McIntosh, she discriminates not only against white people but also against other ethnic groups by implying that people of color do not have the “invisible knapsack of privileges” necessary to succeed in life.
Basing assumptions about an individual’s intelligence, wealth, talent or any other potential for success on skin color alone is tantamount to a police officer racially profiling a black man who is doing nothing more than walking through a neighborhood he does not live in; the ideology behind McIntosh’s “White Privilege” is immoral, unethical and racist at its very core.

Later, in my PLC group meeting, I wrote, “Being born White does not guarantee you success in life just like being born Black does not condemn you to a life of crime, poverty and ignorance. There have been many Black people throughout history who were born poor but worked to achieve successful careers in medicine, academics, business and athletics. In contrast, there have been many White people born into wealth and privilege who have ended up bankrupt or in prison.” Lest we forget, Barrack Obama, a man with a diverse ethnic background, was born in Hawaii, enjoyed the “privilege” of attending a private high school, Columbia University, Harvard Law School and has since enjoyed a successful career as both an Illinois senator and two terms as President of the United States. If we subscribe to the nonsense of Peggy McIntosh, “White Privilege” would’ve prevented Barrack Obama from receiving the advantages of a private education and holding the highest executive office in our nation. Furthermore, if using terms such as “ghetto” and “Ebonics” is a slap in the face to Black people, why have countless numbers of authors, public school teachers, and college professors used both terms freely when lecturing to students or writing books?

Priya Parmar, an assistant professor at Brooklyn College in New York, has stated repeatedly that “Ebonics is superior to the tongue of the White devil” and “Proper English is the language of White oppressors”. Incidentally, in one particular case, a student by the name of Evan Goldwyn wrote a negative review of Professor Parmar’s teaching methods, citing her obvious bias against the English language and any student who dared to disagree with her political viewpoints. Parmar’s response to such student criticism was to lower Goldwyn’s grades without sufficient cause, deny him the right of appeal to the Dean of Education and falsely accuse him of plagiarism at the end of the semester.

Kay S. Hymowitz, writer and commentator for City Journal magazine, published an editorial piece in 2005, entitled, "The Black Family: 40 Years of Lies", detailing what she believes is the most significant contributing factor to Black poverty in modern America: economic hardships are inherited from the dissolution of the traditional family in urban Black neighborhoods. Throughout her article, Hymowitz uses the word “ghetto” several times in reference to single motherhood, the legacy of Jim Crow discrimination and the general feeling of hopelessness that spawned the civil rights movement of the 1960’s:

“Convinced that “the Negro revolution . . . , a movement for equality as well as for liberty,” was now at risk, (Patrick) Moynihan wanted to make several arguments in his report. The first was empirical and would quickly become indisputable: single-parent families were on the rise in the ghetto. But other points were more speculative and sparked a partisan dispute that has lasted to this day. Moynihan argued that the rise in single-mother families was not due to a lack of jobs but rather to a destructive vein in the ghetto culture that could be traced back to slavery and Jim Crow discrimination.”

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary clearly defines the term ghetto as:

“A part of a city in which members of a particular group or race live usually in poor conditions” and “the poorest part of a city”

The term Ebonics is defined as:

“Black English” and “a blend of ebony and phonics.”

Neither term is classified as “derogatory” or “offensive”.

If the ESL department at the University of Alabama at Birmingham has adopted Ebonics (“African American Vernacular”) as part of its professional criteria for grading English exams and dissertations, its standards for literacy are much lower than I expected.

In defense of educators in the United States and around the world who still recognize the importance of teaching English properly, I believe it is only fair to provide justification for its preservation.

Standardized English is the official language of international business. When million dollar contracts are negotiated between two foreign parties and endorsed with the stroke of a pen, they are consummated in English.

Standardized English is the official language of medicine. Imagine the confusion that would result if a group of doctors from 20 different countries were all called together for an important medical conference in which no one spoke the same language; therefore, English is included as part of the curriculum in virtually every medical school throughout the world.

Standardized English is the official language of civilian transportation; all two-way communication between commercial aircraft and sea vessels is conducted in English.

Standardized English accounts for over 80% of all print and internet media published throughout the world. More bestselling books have been written in English than any other language.

The Emancipation Proclamation, the Declaration of Independence, John F. Kennedy’s Inaugural Address and Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream Speech” were all conceived in the minds of brilliant thinkers but where would their thoughts be today without the benefit of proper English to convey their ideas to the masses?

As college educated citizens, we have an obligation to protect and uphold the value of standardized English; no other contribution we make in the field of education will ever shine so brightly. Abandoning our duty to the will of pop culture delivers a grave injustice to past, present and future generations of students.

“Being in a minority, even in a minority of one, did not make you mad. There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.”
- George Orwell
1984

Once again, thank you, Dr. Savage, for taking the time to read this email. I will continue to be a regular member of your listening audience.
