Current customer service can help with account access, debit and Build Card transactions, direct deposits, money transfers, disputes, Paycheck Advance, Fee-Free Overdraft, Savings Pods, Current Max and account closure. Current provides 24/7 in-app chat and also publishes telephone, email and online support options.
Current is a financial technology company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services are provided by Choice Financial Group and/or Cross River Bank, both Member FDIC. Check the back of the Current card or the account documents in the app to determine which partner bank is connected with a particular account.

Important Current Address Correction
The former 99 Wall Street, Suite 3242 address should not be presented as Current’s current corporate or support address.
Current’s recent legal and privacy materials identify:
Finco Services, Inc. d/b/a Current
217 Centre Street #180
New York, NY 10013
This is a legal and correspondence address. Most account concerns should begin through the Current app or official Support Center.
Current Is a Fintech Company, Not a Bank
Current is a financial technology company that works with regulated financial institutions to provide account and card services.
- Current and Finco Services: Operate the app, technology platform and member-support system.
- Choice Financial Group: Can provide deposit-account services and issue the Current Visa Debit Card.
- Cross River Bank: Can provide deposit-account services and issues the Current Visa secured charge card.
- Finco Advance LLC: Provides the optional Paycheck Advance service.
- Zero Hash companies: Provide cryptocurrency services available through Current.
To find the partner bank connected with an account:
- Open the Current app.
- Select Account.
- Select Voided Check or Account Numbers.
- Review the bank name, account number and routing number.
The applicable account agreement and the bank name shown on the back of the card control.
FDIC Insurance and Current Accounts
Current itself is not FDIC insured. Eligible deposited funds may qualify for pass-through FDIC insurance through Choice Financial Group and/or Cross River Bank when the required conditions are satisfied.
FDIC insurance protects eligible deposits if an insured bank fails. It does not protect against:
- An unauthorized card transaction
- A cryptocurrency loss
- A declined dispute
- A merchant failing to deliver goods
- A decline in investment or cryptocurrency value
- A customer voluntarily sending money to a scammer
Review the Current account agreement and identify the partner bank before filing a bank-regulatory complaint.

Information to Have Before Contacting Current
- Name on the account
- Email address associated with Current
- Telephone number associated with Current
- Last four digits of the affected card
- Partner bank shown in the app or on the card
- Date and amount of the disputed transaction
- Merchant name
- Transaction or receipt ID
- Direct-deposit payer and expected date
- Transfer date and status
- Dispute or support case number
- Screenshots with sensitive information removed
- A concise explanation of the requested resolution
Do not publicly post an account or routing number, complete card number, CVV, PIN, password, passkey, login verification code, Social Security number, government identification, pay stub or bank statement.
Current Account Login Problems
An active supported telephone number is required to access a Current account. Current sends a unique verification code to that number during login.
If login fails:
- Confirm that the correct telephone number is being entered.
- Use a supported mobile number rather than a VoIP number such as Google Voice.
- Confirm that the device can receive SMS messages.
- Check whether the account information changed.
- Try the official Current app from a supported location.
- Contact support from the email address associated with the account.
Current states that it cannot communicate about an account through an email address that is not associated with that account.
Never Share a Current Login Verification Code
The verification code sent during login is for the account holder’s use only.
Current says it will not contact a member through social media, email, text message or telephone and ask for that verification code. Anyone requesting it may be attempting to take over the account.
Update a Current Phone Number
If the old phone number is still accessible, update the number through the app before losing access.
When the old number is no longer available:
- Email support@current.com from the registered email address.
- Use the official support form.
- Be prepared to complete identity verification.
- Do not create a duplicate account unless Current instructs you to do so.
Account Under Review, Restricted or Closed
Current may restrict an account when it identifies unusual activity or needs additional information.
Current says its Fraud Team sends an email with the subject:
An Important Message About Your Current Account
When an account is under review:
- Check the email associated with Current.
- Check spam and junk folders.
- Confirm that the email links to an official Current domain.
- Reply directly to the existing Fraud Team email.
- Provide requested information through the secure process.
- Keep the case in one email thread when possible.
- Save the final account decision.
Ordinary customer-service agents may not be able to override an active fraud, identity, compliance or legal review.
Lost, Stolen or Damaged Current Card
Pause or replace a missing card promptly through Card Settings in the app.
For an ordinary lost or damaged card:
- Open Card Settings.
- Pause the card if it may be temporarily misplaced.
- Select Replace Card when a new physical card is required.
- Review the replacement and shipping charge before confirming.
Current currently states that a standard lost or damaged replacement card costs $5 and commonly arrives within 7–10 business days. Expedited delivery may be available at an additional cost.
If an unauthorized transaction is reported, Current deactivates the affected card and issues a replacement without the ordinary replacement fee. A virtual card may remain available while the new physical card is being delivered.
How to File a Current Debit or Build Card Dispute
- Open the Current app.
- Go to the Spending tab.
- Select the affected transaction.
- Select Report a Problem.
- Select File a Dispute.
- Choose the correct dispute reason.
- Provide the requested facts and documents.
- Save the dispute confirmation.
For a non-card transaction, contact Current support through the app, email, telephone or online form.
Unauthorized Transaction Versus Merchant Dispute
- Unauthorized transaction: The account holder did not make or approve the transaction.
- Merchant dispute: The account holder authorized the purchase but disputes the product, service, cancellation, return or amount.
Do not label an authorized merchant disagreement as fraud. Contacting the merchant first may produce a faster refund, but do not delay reporting a truly unauthorized transaction.
Current Dispute Processing Time
Current states that disputes can take up to 90 calendar days, although many are resolved within approximately 20 days depending on the transaction, investigation and merchant response.
Customers can check a debit- or credit-card dispute by:
- Opening Account.
- Selecting Support.
- Selecting Disputes.
- Reviewing the open or completed case.
Email and in-app notifications should also be sent when the dispute status changes.
Provisional Credit for a Current Dispute
Some qualifying electronic-transfer disputes may receive temporary provisional credit while the investigation continues.
Current states that qualifying disputes may receive provisional credit by:
- The tenth business day after Current receives notice; or
- The twentieth business day for certain disputed transactions that occurred within 30 days after the first account deposit.
Not every dispute qualifies. A provisional credit is temporary and can be reversed if the investigation finds that no covered error occurred.
Denied Current Dispute
If Current denies a dispute:
- Review the final decision in the app or email.
- Request the documents relied upon in the investigation.
- Email disputes@current.com for a written explanation or documents.
- Compare the decision with receipts, merchant correspondence and account history.
- Submit any available appeal or follow-up information promptly.
- Keep copies of the final response.
The disputes email is for dispute-decision documentation and should not be used as a replacement for ordinary account support.
Direct Deposit Is Late or Missing
Current releases a direct deposit when it receives the deposit instructions from the employer, government agency or other payer.
If a deposit is missing:
- Check the Current transaction history.
- Confirm the expected payment date with the employer or payer.
- Verify the account and routing numbers used.
- Check whether Current recently changed the account details connected with a partner-bank update.
- Ask the payroll provider for an ACH trace number.
- Contact Current after confirming the payment was transmitted.
“Up to two days early” is not a guaranteed payday. Availability depends on when the payer submits the electronic deposit.
Find Current Account and Routing Numbers
- Open the Current app.
- Select Account.
- Select Account Numbers.
To identify the partner bank connected with the account, select Voided Check. Use the account and routing numbers shown in the current app rather than numbers saved from an older form.
Linked-Bank Transfer Is Pending
For a transfer between Current and another bank:
- Confirm that the linked account belongs to the Current member.
- Review the transfer amount and status.
- Check whether the outside bank rejected or reversed it.
- Confirm that sufficient funds were available.
- Review whether a security or account restriction applies.
- Contact both institutions when the transfer left one account but did not reach the other.
Keep the transfer date, amount, receipt ID and any trace number.
Cancel a Pending Deposit From Another Bank
A deposit initiated inside the Current app from a linked bank can generally be canceled before 4 p.m. ET on the same day it was initiated.
- Tap the Current account balance.
- Select the pending deposit.
- Select Cancel at the bottom of the receipt.
If the cancellation option is no longer displayed, the transfer may have progressed too far to stop.
Cash and Mobile-Check Deposits
Current supports cash deposits at participating retailers and mobile-check deposits for eligible members.
Before depositing funds:
- Review the fee displayed in the app.
- Confirm the participating retail location.
- Keep the cash-deposit receipt.
- Endorse checks exactly as instructed.
- Keep the original check until the deposit is accepted and fully available.
- Do not redeposit a check that remains under review.
Deposit availability, eligibility and limits are account-specific and can change.
Fee-Free Overdraft
Fee-Free Overdraft allows eligible members to complete certain Current Debit Card and Build Card transactions beyond the available account balance without a traditional overdraft fee.
Current’s published eligibility generally requires:
- At least $200 in qualifying direct deposits during the preceding 35-day period
- Other eligibility requirements determined by Current
- Enrollment in the feature
The available amount can change. A negative balance must generally be repaid within 60 days of the first qualifying transaction that caused it.
Fee-Free Overdraft does not necessarily cover:
- ATM withdrawals
- Money transfers
- Every card transaction
- Transactions beyond the available overdraft amount
Paycheck Advance
Paycheck Advance is an optional service offered by Finco Advance LLC to eligible Current members. The available amount is displayed in the app and can change.
Before accepting an advance, review:
- Advance amount
- Expected repayment date
- Optional instant-access fee
- Automatic repayment authorization
- Effect of a delayed paycheck
- Outstanding advance balance
Contact Current promptly if a repayment appears incorrect or an unauthorized advance-related charge appears.
Current Build Card Help
The Current Build Card is a Visa secured charge card issued by Cross River Bank. A Current deposit account is required, and separate approval applies.
The Build Card uses Reserved Funds to set aside money connected with card spending. Customers should review:
- Available spending balance
- Reserved Funds
- Total due
- Payment due date
- AutoPay status
- Transactions reported to the credit bureaus
Late repayment or an unpaid Build Fee-Free Overdraft balance may affect credit reporting. Review the current Build Card agreement and billing statement rather than assuming it works exactly like a debit card.
Build Card Credit-Reporting Problem
If Build Card information appears incorrect on a credit report:
- Review Current billing statements and payment history.
- Check the account status and AutoPay history.
- Obtain reports from the major credit bureaus.
- Dispute the information with the bureau showing the error.
- Contact Current with supporting account records.
- Save the results of each investigation.
Credit-score changes are not guaranteed and can depend on many factors beyond the Current account.
Savings Pods and Boost Bonuses
Current Savings Pods allow members to separate savings from their spending balance. Current may provide a variable Boost Bonus on qualifying balances.
Current’s published conditions generally include:
- At least $0.01 in a Savings Pod
- A standard or enhanced variable Boost rate
- A qualifying payroll deposit of at least $200 during a 35-day period for the higher published rate
- Limits on the amount eligible to earn the enhanced rate
Rates, eligibility and balance limits can change. Review the current rate and terms displayed in the app.
Current Max Subscription
Current Max is an optional, automatically renewing subscription that can include additional Current benefits.
Before enrolling, review:
- Subscription fee
- Billing cycle
- Included benefits
- Eligibility requirements
- Cancellation deadline
- Refund terms
To prevent another renewal, cancel through the Current Max management screen before the next billing date. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a paid subscription.
Report an unauthorized Current Max charge through in-app support or by calling 1-888-851-1172.
Teen Banking Support
A parent or legal guardian manages a linked Teen Account through the adult Current account.
Teen Banking help can include:
- Linking accounts
- Transferring money
- Allowances and chores
- Merchant controls
- Card replacement
- Transaction notifications
Do not publish a minor’s name, birth date, card information, school, address or account details in a public review.
Close a Current Account
Current instructs members to contact support through the app or official support form to close an account.
Before requesting closure:
- Stop incoming direct deposits.
- Move or withdraw the remaining available balance.
- Wait for pending transactions and disputes.
- Resolve a negative balance.
- Cancel Current Max and other optional services.
- Review outstanding Paycheck Advance obligations.
- Download statements and tax documents.
- Request written closure confirmation.
Closing the account does not automatically erase transaction records, cancel pending disputes, remove amounts owed or delete information Current must retain by law.
