EA Customer Support, Account Recovery and Refunds

EA customer support can help with account recovery, hacked accounts, refunds, EA Play memberships, linked platform accounts, missing games or content, bans, billing and technical problems. Electronic Arts does not publish a general public customer-service phone number, so support begins through the official EA Help website and its issue-specific tools.

How to Contact EA Customer Support

EA Help articles can be viewed at any time, but EA does not publish universal live-agent or chat hours. After selecting a game, platform and issue, EA Help displays the support options currently available for that problem. The corporate phone is not an account-recovery, refund or game-support line.

Best EA Support Route by Issue

  • Cannot access an EA Account: Use the account-recovery steps and contact EA Help if the connected email is no longer available.
  • Hacked account: Secure the email account, change passwords, enable two-factor authentication and open a support case.
  • Game refund: Use EA’s Refund Tool for eligible purchases made through the EA app or EA.com.
  • PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, Epic, Apple or Google purchase: Contact the store or platform that processed the transaction.
  • EA Play cancellation: Cancel through the platform where the membership was purchased.
  • Missing game, currency, item or reward: Confirm the correct EA Account, check server status and use the Missing Content Tool.
  • Ban or suspension: Review Penalty History and submit an appeal when eligible.
  • Linked-account problem: Review the risks before unlinking PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Epic or another account.
  • Game bug or crash: Check the game’s EA Help page, server status and EA Forums before opening a case.
  • Cheating, harassment or harmful content: Use the in-game report option when available or EA’s reporting tool.
  • Child or teen account: Use EA Family settings for playtime, spending limits and account management.
  • Privacy or account-data request: Use the EA Account settings and Privacy Portal.

Information to Have Before Contacting EA Help

  • EA ID and account email address
  • Platform, such as PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo or mobile
  • Platform account ID, gamertag or Online ID
  • Game title and edition
  • Proof of purchase or invoice number
  • Purchase date, amount and payment platform
  • Date and time the issue began
  • Exact error message or code
  • Screenshots or video showing the problem
  • Names of linked accounts
  • Previous EA case number or access key
  • A brief description of the troubleshooting already attempted
Do not post this information publicly. Provide account or transaction evidence only through EA’s official secure support process.

EA Account Recovery and Login Problems

Start with EA’s password-reset and account-recovery tools. Try signing in with the email address, EA ID or connected platform account that may be associated with the profile. If the email address connected to the account is no longer accessible, EA may ask for information that helps verify previous ownership, such as:
  • The original account email address
  • EA ID or previously used usernames
  • PlayStation, Xbox, Steam or other linked platform IDs
  • Invoice numbers or product codes
  • Purchase information associated with the account
Creating a second EA Account does not automatically transfer games, progress, subscriptions or purchases from the original account. Try to recover the existing account before linking a primary gaming profile to a new one.

Hacked or Compromised EA Accounts

Warning signs may include unfamiliar purchases, changed login details, missing content, unknown linked accounts or security emails you did not request. If the account may have been compromised:
  1. Change the password for the email account connected to EA.
  2. Reset the EA Account password.
  3. Use a unique password that is not used on another website.
  4. Enable two-factor authentication.
  5. Review connected accounts and trusted devices.
  6. Secure PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Apple, Google or other linked accounts.
  7. Review EA order history and payment activity.
  8. Contact EA Help if access or content remains missing.
EA will not ask for an account password or verification code through an unsolicited message. Do not pay another person to recover an EA Account.

EA Game Refunds

EA’s refund policy generally applies to eligible full-game downloads purchased directly through EA.com or the EA app. A qualifying request may be submitted:
  • Within 24 hours after first launching the game
  • Within 14 days after purchase if the game has not been launched
  • Before release for an eligible preorder that has not been launched
  • Within 72 hours after first launch for certain newly released games affected by technical problems within EA’s control
Some downloadable content, in-game currencies, bundles, editions containing virtual content and non-refundable payment methods may be excluded. Eligibility also depends on applicable consumer law. Purchases made through PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, Epic, Apple, Google or a physical retailer must normally be refunded through that platform or seller.

Unauthorized EA Charges and Chargebacks

Review the Payment and Wallet section of the EA Account before reporting an unfamiliar charge. Check for:
  • EA game purchases
  • EA Play or EA Play Pro renewals
  • Preorders and temporary authorizations
  • In-game currency or content
  • Duplicate orders
  • Purchases made by another household member
If the unauthorized purchase was processed directly by EA, secure the account and contact EA Help. Charges processed by Xbox, PlayStation, Apple, Google or another platform must be reported to that billing provider. Contact EA before initiating a chargeback for a recognized but disputed EA purchase. A chargeback outside EA’s refund process may lead to account restrictions or removal of the charged content.

EA Play Membership Billing and Cancellation

Cancel EA Play through the same platform where the membership was purchased:
  • EA app: Use the Subscriptions and Memberships section of the EA Account.
  • Steam: Manage the subscription through Steam.
  • Epic Games: Manage it through Epic.
  • PlayStation: Use PlayStation subscription settings.
  • Xbox: Use Microsoft account subscription settings.
After cancellation, access generally continues until the end of the current paid membership period. Games included only through EA Play become unavailable after membership ends unless they are purchased separately. Deleting the EA app or stopping use of the membership does not cancel recurring billing. Save the cancellation confirmation and check the next billing date.

Linked PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Epic Accounts

Review the Connected Accounts page before unlinking a gaming profile. Unlinking can permanently separate the platform account from:
  • Game progress
  • Downloadable content and expansions
  • Memberships and subscriptions
  • Rewards and promotional drops
  • In-game items and purchases
These entitlements normally remain connected to the EA Account that originally held them. Linking the platform to another EA Account does not transfer the old content or progress. EA may also restrict how frequently a platform account can be switched. Recover the original EA Account when possible rather than unlinking it solely because its email address is outdated.

Missing EA Games, Currency, Items or Rewards

Before opening a support case:
  1. Restart the game and device.
  2. Confirm that you are signed in to the correct EA Account.
  3. Check EA server status.
  4. Review the platform’s purchase history.
  5. Confirm that the transaction completed.
  6. Allow time for delayed rewards or promotional content.
  7. Use EA’s Missing Content Tool when the game is supported.
Keep receipts, purchase dates, item names, currency amounts, account IDs and screenshots. Content sent to the wrong EA Account may not be transferable.

EA Bans, Suspensions and Appeals

Use EA’s Penalty History tool to review active warnings, suspensions and bans across supported EA games. If an enforcement action appears incorrect:
  1. Sign in to Penalty History.
  2. Select the applicable violation.
  3. Review the stated reason and penalty.
  4. Select the appeal option when available.
  5. Provide a concise factual explanation and relevant evidence.
Submitting repeated or false reports is not an effective appeal strategy. EA’s moderation team may uphold, modify or remove the penalty after review.

EA Server, Connection and Game Problems

Check EA’s real-time server-status page before changing network settings or reinstalling a game. Also check the platform’s status when using PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam or Epic. When servers are online, try:
  • Restarting the game and device
  • Updating the game and EA app
  • Restarting the router
  • Testing another network when possible
  • Closing conflicting background software
  • Checking firewall or security settings
  • Reviewing the game’s EA Help page and forums
EA Forums are useful for known bugs and shared troubleshooting, but community posts are not a substitute for an account-specific refund, recovery or billing case.

Reporting Players, Harassment and Unsafe Content

Use the in-game report feature whenever available because it can provide EA with relevant player, match and content information. Select the reporting category that most accurately describes the conduct. Players may also be able to mute or block another user. Preserve screenshots or video when appropriate, but do not publicly repost private information, threats or harmful content. Contact emergency services or the appropriate authority when a report involves an immediate credible threat, child exploitation, serious criminal activity or immediate danger.

EA Child Accounts and Parental Controls

Parents and guardians can use EA Family settings to manage eligible teen accounts. Available controls may include:
  • Playtime guidelines
  • Monthly spending limits
  • Game and downloadable-content spending
  • In-game content spending
  • Weekly activity summaries
Platform-level parental controls from PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Apple or Google may also apply. Review both EA and platform settings when a child cannot access online features or when an unfamiliar purchase appears.

EA Privacy, Account Data and Account Deletion

Users can review connected accounts, payment methods, order history, privacy settings, trusted devices and other information through EA Account settings. EA also allows eligible users to request a download of account data. Account deletion can cause permanent loss of games, entitlements, subscriptions, in-game purchases and linked-platform access. It may also permanently disable certain Pogo or STAR WARS: The Old Republic accounts. Do not delete an account solely to fix a linking or login issue. Contact EA Help first because deletion may not solve the underlying problem and may make recovery more difficult.

EA Customer Support Reviews and Complaints

CustomerServiceNumbers.com currently shows two visible EA reviews, with an overall rating of 2.0 out of 5. Both reviews were submitted in 2018. One reviewer described a Pogo access or subscription concern. The other reported difficulty locating working telephone assistance. These two older experiences are too limited to establish current EA-wide support trends. Newer reviews can help readers understand current experiences involving account recovery, refunds, EA Play billing, linked accounts, missing content, bans, technical support and whether EA resolved the issue.

Account Security and Fake EA Support Warnings

  • Use EA.com, Help.EA.com, MyAccount.EA.com and official platform-support websites.
  • EA does not publish a general public customer-service phone number.
  • Be cautious with search ads, pop-ups and social-media accounts claiming to offer a special EA support number.
  • Never provide an EA password, email password, two-factor code or backup code to another person.
  • Do not allow an unknown support representative to remotely access your device.
  • Do not pay for account recovery through gift cards, cryptocurrency, wire transfers or person-to-person payments.
  • Do not post case numbers, product codes, invoices, gamertags, account emails, payment details or private messages in a public review.
  • Remove usernames, QR codes, barcodes and account information from screenshots before posting them publicly.
  • A review posted here does not open an EA case, appeal a ban, cancel EA Play or request a refund.
