Flex customer service is online only; Flex does not publish a direct customer-service phone number. For the fastest account-specific help, open the Flex app, go to Settings, and tap Chat. The virtual assistant and support team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If the chatbot cannot resolve the issue, it can connect you with a human agent or create an email ticket.
Quick answer: How do I contact Flex customer service?
- Account-specific help: Flex app > Settings > Chat
- General web help: open the official Flex support page
- Human support: ask the chatbot to transfer or submit the request; Flex aims to respond within 24 hours
- Email ticket: submit a Flex support request
- Unresolved complaint: file a formal Flex complaint
- Telephone support: no public customer-service number is currently offered
Flex phone-number and account-security warning
Flex says it does not offer a direct customer-service phone line. Treat a phone number shown in a search ad, social-media comment, text message or unofficial directory as unverified. A Flex agent may arrange a call after an authenticated chat, but do not trust an unexpected caller merely because the caller knows your name, property or payment amount.
Never give an unexpected caller or message sender your password, Social Security number, complete card or bank details, or one-time verification code. Open the official Flex app yourself or type Help.GetFlex.com into the browser.

Choose the Right Flex Support Route
- First payment failed or rent has not been sent: open the app immediately, review the service message and exact cutoff, update the payment method if needed, and use in-app chat.
- Second payment failed: use Make payment, reschedule to an eligible date or add a backup card; contact chat before the account becomes past due.
- Property says rent is unpaid: check the payment status in Flex and the resident portal, then contact both Flex and the property with the same dates and amount.
- Late fee: ask the property when the fee was assessed and ask Flex for the rent-submission timeline.
- Membership fee or unexpected recurring charge: check whether the Rent membership and line of credit remained active, even if rent autopay was turned off.
- Cancel membership: use Settings > Membership > Cancel account and save the confirmation email.
- Delete personal data: cancel the membership or remove bills first, clear pending and unpaid balances, then use Settings > Privacy.
- Application or credit-line decision: review the adverse-action notice or account message before contacting support.
- Unresolved service complaint: file the formal complaint form and include the earlier ticket ID.
What to Have Ready Before Contacting Flex
- The email address and phone number associated with the Flex account
- The Flex product involved: Rent, Move-In or Everyday Bills
- The property name, unit and resident-portal provider, when relevant
- The rent amount and the first- and second-payment amounts
- The scheduled date, attempted date and posted date of each payment
- A screenshot of the Flex app status, cutoff or error message
- The property ledger or resident-portal payment status
- Any late-fee notice, returned-payment message or refund confirmation
- The existing ticket or complaint number
- The exact correction, refund, fee review, payment trace or other resolution requested
Do not post a Social Security number, password, one-time code, full card or bank number, rent ledger, lease, government ID, private address or unredacted account screenshot in a public review. Send sensitive documents only through a secure route Flex provides.
How Flex Rent Works
Flex Rent is a monthly membership that gives an approved customer access to a line of credit for splitting rent. The line of credit is issued by Lead Bank or Column N.A., Members FDIC. Flexible Finance, Inc. and its subsidiaries provide the Flex technology, brokering and servicing functions; Flex is a financial-technology company, not a bank.
Most approved customers make a larger first payment and repay the financed portion later in the month. Flex says many customers begin near a 60/40 split, while some qualify for a 50/50 split. The exact credit line, split and fees appear in the app and depend on eligibility.
Two ways Flex may submit rent
- Flex handles the rent payment: after the first payment clears, Flex pays the property directly.
- The customer uses a Flex-provided payment method: the customer enters the rent amount and uses a Flex bank account or debit card in the property’s resident portal.
Do not assume a prior month’s process is unchanged. Check the app every month for the required payment method, exact amount, property status and deadline.
Flex Rent Payment Dates and Monthly Cutoffs
Your app controls the exact deadline
Flex says the first-payment deadline is usually 3 p.m. Eastern Time on the fifth of the month and the final rent-submission cutoff is usually 5 p.m. Eastern Time on the fifth. Some accounts and properties have different timing. Follow the date and time displayed in the app, not a general deadline found online.
- First payment: must clear before Flex can submit rent. Waiting until the cutoff may leave too little time before the property’s late-fee deadline.
- Final rent-submission cutoff: after the monthly period closes, Flex may not accept rent until the next cycle.
- Second payment: the eligible date is shown in the app and may be rescheduled between the eighth and the last day of the month.
- New signup: Flex currently says a customer who signs up before noon ET on the fifth may be able to begin with that month’s rent; a later signup generally begins the next month.
If the first payment is not completed in time, Flex may not submit rent for that month and the tenant must pay the property directly. Confirm that Flex did not already send or schedule the payment before paying the property, because duplicate payments can be difficult to reverse.
Flex Rent Membership, Processing and Split Fees
| Fee | Current published amount | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly Rent membership | $5.99 | While the Rent membership and line of credit remain active |
| Processing fee | 0.5% of total rent | Charged with the first payment when rent is paid through Flex |
| Split fee | Up to 3% of the second-payment amount | Charged when rent is split; based on the amount borrowed |
| Credit-card surcharge | 2.5% | Applied to each payment made with a credit card |
| Property passthrough fee | May be $3 | Only for some properties |
Flex says the membership fee is charged with the first payment when rent is paid through Flex, or on the fifteenth when the membership remains active but Flex is not used for rent that month. Turning off rent autopay does not cancel the membership or close the line of credit.
Pricing may vary by customer, property, account type and offer. Older accounts may have previous pricing. Review the Fees section and final payment schedule in the app before authorizing a transaction. Flex says it does not charge its own late fees, returned-payment fees, missed-payment penalties or compounding interest, but a property, card issuer or other third party may charge separate fees.
Failed or Missed Flex Payments
First payment failed
- Open the service message on the Flex home screen.
- Check the exact first-payment and rent-submission cutoffs.
- Confirm sufficient funds and update an expired or declined card.
- Use Retry the payment yourself or wait for an automatic retry when the app says that option remains available.
- Check the property portal before making a separate rent payment.
- Use in-app chat immediately if the status is unclear.
Flex may retry a failed first payment several times before the account cutoff. The app and email should show failed attempts. A retry does not extend the property’s due date or late-fee deadline.
Second payment failed
Open Payments and tap Make payment, choose an eligible rescheduled date or add a backup card. Flex currently allows many customers to reschedule the second payment between the eighth and last day of the month. Some customers can divide the second payment into two or three partial payments; each partial payment generally must be at least $50 except the final payment.
Flex says the full balance must be paid by 11:59 p.m. ET on the last day of the month to remain eligible for the next month’s Rent service. A customer who cannot pay should contact support before the scheduled date. A payment plan may be available for some accounts, but the credit line is paused until the balance is paid. Failure to follow an agreed plan may lead to internal or third-party collections.
Late Rent Fees While Using Flex
Flex does not control a property’s rent due date, grace period or late-fee policy. If the first payment settles after the property’s deadline, the property may assess a late fee even when the Flex monthly cutoff has not passed.
Flex says it considers reimbursement when the delay was caused by a Flex system or payment-submission problem after the customer completed the required first payment. It generally does not cover a property fee caused by insufficient funds, a late first payment, an incorrect rent amount or a missed in-app instruction.
For a late-fee review, gather the property ledger, lease deadline, first-payment confirmation, Flex submission status and the date and amount of the fee. Ask Flex for a written timeline and ask the property whether it can waive the fee while the matter is reviewed.
Flex Refunds, Duplicate Payments and Incorrect Rent Amounts
First payment made but Flex was not used
Eligible customers who made the first payment but have not used the Flex-provided payment method to submit rent may see a Refund payment option in the app. Flex says an approved refund returns to the original payment method in approximately one to three business days. The customer must then pay the property directly, and the Flex membership remains active unless canceled separately.
Automatic refund from Flex
A payment may be refunded when Flex detects no rent balance, cannot submit the rent, or determines that the first payment was higher than required. Do not assume a refund means rent was paid. Check both the Flex status and the property ledger, then pay the property directly if required.
Wrong rent amount or duplicate payment
If Flex has already sent the rent payment, it may not be able to revise or reverse the amount. Contact the property to reconcile an overpayment, underpayment, changed charge or duplicate payment. Also open a Flex ticket so the account and repayment schedule can be reviewed.
Keep every ledger, portal receipt, payment confirmation and refund notice. If a refund is approved for an amount financed through the Flex credit line, fees may be treated differently from principal and some property passthrough fees may be nonrefundable.
How to Cancel a Flex Rent Membership
- Open the Flex app.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Membership under General.
- Tap Cancel account.
- Read the warning and complete every confirmation step.
- Save the in-app confirmation and cancellation email.
Flex does not charge a cancellation fee, but cancellation closes the Rent line of credit and does not erase an unpaid balance. Flex advises canceling at least two days before the end of the month to avoid the next month’s membership charge.
These actions do not cancel Flex Rent
- Turning off rent autopay
- Removing or locking a payment card
- Deleting the Flex app
- Paying rent directly to the property for one month
- Skipping use of the Flex credit line
If the membership still appears active after cancellation, take a screenshot, open a support ticket and include the confirmation date. Do not rely only on a card block, because an unpaid contractual balance can remain due.
How to Delete a Flex Account or Personal Data
Membership cancellation and data deletion are separate. Before requesting deletion, cancel the Rent membership, remove connected bills, complete or cancel any payment in progress and pay outstanding balances.
- Open the Flex app.
- Go to Settings > Privacy.
- Tap Delete data or the deletion option shown.
- Follow the verification and confirmation steps.
Deletion permanently closes access and terminates the associated credit line. Flex may retain records required by financial, fraud-prevention and other legal obligations. Eligible state privacy requests may also be submitted through the Flex Privacy Center.
Flex Credit Checks, Credit Lines and Rent Reporting
Flex says it performs a one-time soft credit check when a customer applies for Flex Rent. The soft inquiry does not affect the credit score. Approval and the available credit line can depend on credit history, connected financial information, prior Flex payment behavior and other eligibility factors.
Most customers begin with an unequal payment split, and the line may change after account review. A previous approval does not guarantee approval or the same limit in a later month.
Optional positive rent reporting
When rent reporting is enabled, Flex says it reports on-time rent payments to TransUnion and does not report late rent payments through that optional feature. A new reported tradeline can affect a credit profile in different ways, and a score increase is not guaranteed.
Flex’s broader legal disclosures also state that positive rent-payment history and information about the loan may be reported to one or more national credit bureaus. Read the current account agreement and credit-reporting disclosures for the specific account. If information appears inaccurate, dispute it with Flex and the credit bureau that displays it.
Flex Account Security, Unauthorized Charges and Privacy
If an unauthorized Flex charge or account change is suspected:
- Secure the email account and phone number used for Flex.
- Change the Flex password or use the official account-recovery process.
- Review the Flex payment schedule, connected property and saved payment methods.
- Use in-app chat to report the activity and request a ticket number.
- Contact the card issuer or bank through a verified number if the payment instrument may be compromised.
- Save alerts, statements and screenshots without editing the originals.
A card dispute does not automatically cancel a Flex membership or resolve a rent obligation. Tell both Flex and the property when an unauthorized transaction affects the rent payment, and follow any time-sensitive dispute instructions in the Flex agreement or cardholder agreement.
Flex Company and Mailing Information
Flexible Finance, Inc. and its subsidiaries operate the Flex platform. Flex states that it is a financial-technology company, not a bank. Lines of credit, loan disbursements, banking services and payment transmissions are offered by Lead Bank or Column N.A., Members FDIC, subject to product and account eligibility.
Current Flex credit-line documents list the following address for certain written notices and billing-statement disputes:
Flexible Finance, Inc.
Attn: Billing Statement Dispute
228 Park Ave S #75995
New York, NY 10003-1502
This is not a walk-in customer-service center, rent-payment address or substitute for the instructions in an account’s current agreement. Different Flex entities and state notices may use different suite numbers or addresses. Follow the exact notice attached to the account and use in-app support for ordinary service problems.
Flex Customer Service Reviews and Complaints
Flex users may contact support about payment timing, failed transactions, membership charges, late fees, refunds, rent-portal problems, cancellation, credit-line changes and difficulty reaching a human agent. A review describes one customer’s experience and does not establish that every account or property will have the same result.
What to include in a useful Flex review
- Whether the issue involved Rent, Move-In or Everyday Bills
- Whether contact began through in-app chat, web chat or a ticket
- How long the initial and human responses took
- Whether the property ledger agreed with the Flex payment status
- Whether a ticket or formal complaint was opened
- The requested resolution and final outcome
- Whether Flex or the property assessed, waived or refunded a fee
Do not include a full name, address, property unit, phone number, email, Social Security number, account number, payment-card information, password, one-time code or unredacted screenshot in a public review.
How to Escalate an Unresolved Flex Complaint
- Start with in-app chat. Describe one problem, give the relevant dates and request a ticket number.
- Preserve the evidence. Save chat records, emails, payment confirmations, app messages, property ledgers and fee notices.
- State the requested result. Ask for a payment trace, ledger correction, fee review, refund, cancellation confirmation, credit-reporting correction or written explanation.
- File a formal Flex complaint. Use the consumer complaint form and include the earlier ticket ID.
- Follow the account agreement. A billing-statement error may have a written-notice deadline and address. The current Lead Bank Flex agreement says certain errors must be reported within 60 days after appearing on the statement.
- Contact the appropriate outside organization when necessary. An unresolved consumer-financial issue may be submitted to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. A property ledger, lease or eviction issue may require the property manager, a local housing agency or qualified legal assistance.
Flex says it aims to respond to formal complaints within 24 hours and resolve most within approximately seven days, with a stated outer target of 20 calendar days. Complex disputes, third-party records or legal issues may take longer.

Open in-app chat and ask the virtual assistant for human help. If the issue requires an agent, the request can be transferred or submitted as an email ticket.
Does Flex have an email address?
Flex primarily routes support through chat and email tickets instead of advertising one general customer-service inbox. Submit a request through the Help Center so it reaches the correct team and produces a ticket number.
How much does Flex Rent cost?
Flex currently publishes a $5.99 monthly membership, a processing fee of 0.5% of total rent, a split fee of up to 3% of the second-payment amount and a 2.5% surcharge for payments made with a credit card. Some properties may add a $3 passthrough fee. Pricing and account offers can vary.
When is the Flex membership fee charged?
Flex says the membership fee is charged with the first rent payment when Flex is used, or on the fifteenth if the Rent membership remains active but Flex is not used for rent that month.
Does turning off autopay cancel Flex?
No. Turning off rent autopay does not cancel the membership. Complete the cancellation flow under Settings > Membership.
How do I cancel Flex Rent?
Open the app, go to Settings > Membership, tap Cancel account and finish all confirmation steps. Save the confirmation email. Cancel at least two days before the end of the month to avoid the next month’s membership charge.
Does Flex charge a cancellation fee?
No. Flex says there is no cancellation fee, but an outstanding balance remains due and the Rent line of credit closes.
What happens if my first Flex payment fails?
Flex may retry it before the cutoff. Open the app, update the payment method or retry manually, and verify the exact deadline. If the first payment does not clear in time, Flex may not pay the rent and the tenant must pay the property directly.
Can I reschedule the second Flex payment?
Many customers can select the second payment in the app, tap Reschedule and choose an eligible date between the eighth and the last day of the month. Account-specific options appear in the app.
Does Flex charge late fees?
Flex says it does not charge its own late fees, returned-payment fees or missed-payment penalties. A landlord or property may still charge a late fee under the lease.
Can I get a refund if I do not use Flex to pay rent?
Eligible customers may request a refund of the first payment before rent is submitted with the Flex payment method. Flex says approved refunds generally return to the original payment method in one to three business days. The membership remains active unless separately canceled.
Does applying for Flex hurt my credit score?
Flex says the initial application uses a one-time soft credit check that does not affect the credit score. Approval is not guaranteed, and information about the loan or positive rent-payment history may be reported as described in the account disclosures.
Does Flex report rent payments to credit bureaus?
Flex offers optional positive rent reporting to TransUnion. Flex says this feature reports on-time rent payments, but it does not guarantee a credit-score increase. Review the broader credit-line disclosures for other reporting that may apply.
How do I file a formal complaint against Flex?
Use the official Flex consumer complaint form, include any existing ticket number and provide a concise timeline with supporting documents. An unresolved consumer-financial complaint may also be submitted to the CFPB.
