GiftRocket Customer Service: Redemption Help, Refunds and Reviews

GiftRocket stopped accepting new gift orders on January 1, 2025, but says existing GiftRockets can still be redeemed. Customers now primarily need help with an old gift code, missing gift email, failed redemption, unsupported payout method, refund request, or concern that a suggested business will not accept the gift.

For the fastest support, email support@giftrocket.com and include the order confirmation number or the email address associated with the gift. GiftRocket also accepts voicemail messages at 1-800-443-8762.

GiftRocket Service Status

GiftRocket is winding down its consumer gift service and no longer accepts new orders. The company’s current homepage states that:

  • New GiftRocket orders stopped on January 1, 2025.
  • Previously purchased GiftRockets remain eligible for redemption, subject to the applicable terms and redemption process.
  • Customer support remains available for existing gifts.

Do not attempt to place a new GiftRocket order through an old link, cached page, advertisement, third-party website, or unofficial seller. If a website currently claims to sell a new GiftRocket, verify the offer directly with GiftRocket before providing payment information.

How to Contact GiftRocket Customer Service

GiftRocket recommends email for faster service and says it responds to most inquiries within one business day. This is a response goal rather than a guaranteed deadline.

The telephone number is a voicemail route. GiftRocket does not currently advertise live telephone agents, 24-hour telephone service, or fixed staffed customer-service hours.

Information to Include in a GiftRocket Support Request

  • Order confirmation number, when available
  • Email address used by the purchaser
  • Recipient’s email address
  • Approximate purchase date
  • Gift amount
  • Whether the gift was delivered by email or printed
  • Exact error message
  • Redemption method selected
  • Date the redemption was attempted
  • Screenshot with the gift code and private information covered
  • The specific resolution requested

Do not email GiftRocket a bank-account password, payment-card PIN, complete payment-card number, PayPal password, Venmo password, one-time security code, or other login credentials.

Does GiftRocket Still Sell Gift Cards?

No. GiftRocket stopped accepting new orders on January 1, 2025.

Its website now exists primarily to:

  • Redeem previously purchased gifts
  • Provide customer support for existing gifts
  • Display its current wind-down notice
  • Provide legal and privacy information

Customers should not send payment to an individual or third-party website claiming that a new GiftRocket can still be purchased.

How to Redeem an Existing GiftRocket

Gift Delivered by Email

Open the original GiftRocket email and select the button or link that opens the gift. Review the greeting, gift amount, suggested business, and available redemption options.

Printed GiftRocket

Visit the official GiftRocket redemption page and enter the code printed on the gift.

Selecting a Redemption Method

GiftRocket’s last published general terms list possible redemption choices that include:

  • An available merchant-specific gift card
  • PayPal
  • Venmo
  • ACH transfer to an eligible bank account

The options displayed for a particular gift may differ. Availability can depend on the gift, recipient eligibility, current redemption-provider catalog, payout system, and terms shown during redemption.

Read all instructions before selecting a payout. Verify the PayPal, Venmo, bank, or email information carefully because an incorrectly directed transfer may be difficult or impossible to reverse.

A GiftRocket Is Not Necessarily a Gift Card From the Suggested Business

A GiftRocket may display the name of a restaurant, store, salon, hotel, attraction, or other business suggested by the sender. This does not necessarily mean that the business:

  • Sold the GiftRocket
  • Authorized the listing
  • Has a relationship with GiftRocket
  • Agreed to accept a GiftRocket code
  • Issued a merchant gift certificate
  • Can look up or refund the GiftRocket

The recipient generally redeems the value through GiftRocket first. The recipient can then choose how to spend the resulting funds or gift card.

If a merchant-specific gift card for the suggested business is not available, review the other redemption methods displayed by GiftRocket. Do not demand that the suggested business accept a GiftRocket code that it did not issue.

What a Business Owner Should Do About a GiftRocket Listing

A business owner who is concerned about an old GiftRocket page or customer confusion should email support@giftrocket.com and provide:

  • Business name
  • Business address
  • GiftRocket page URL
  • Description of the customer confusion
  • Proof that the requester is authorized to represent the business
  • The requested correction or removal

Do not publish an employee’s private telephone number, email address, or unsupported allegation in a public complaint.

GiftRocket Email or Gift Code Is Missing

If the recipient cannot find the GiftRocket:

  1. Search the inbox for “GiftRocket.”
  2. Check spam, junk, promotions, and deleted folders.
  3. Ask the sender to confirm the recipient email address.
  4. Ask the sender to locate the purchase confirmation.
  5. Check whether the gift was intended to be printed instead of emailed.
  6. Contact GiftRocket support with the sender and recipient email addresses.

A sender who entered the wrong email address should contact GiftRocket promptly. Whether the delivery can be corrected may depend on whether the gift has already been opened or redeemed.

Lost Printed GiftRocket

The purchaser should contact support with the original confirmation number, purchase email, approximate date, gift amount, and recipient information.

Do not post the gift code publicly while asking for help. Anyone who obtains a valid code or redemption link may attempt to access the associated value.

GiftRocket Redemption Error or Unsupported Method

A redemption error may involve:

  • An unsupported payment card
  • An unavailable merchant gift card
  • An invalid or mistyped code
  • A gift already marked redeemed
  • An expired or inactive gift
  • An incorrect recipient email
  • A failed PayPal, Venmo, or ACH payout
  • Eligibility or identity-verification requirements
  • A temporary technical problem

When contacting support, include the exact wording of the error and identify the redemption method selected. Do not repeatedly submit different bank or payment information when the page reports an unresolved error.

“Card Is Unsupported” Error

If a payout method or card is shown as unsupported:

  • Confirm that the card or account is eligible for the redemption option.
  • Check whether another redemption method is displayed.
  • Verify that the recipient meets the current United States eligibility requirements.
  • Take a screenshot with all sensitive information covered.
  • Email support with the order confirmation and error message.

Gift Shows as Already Redeemed

Contact GiftRocket immediately when a gift shows as redeemed but the intended recipient did not complete the redemption.

Provide:

  • Gift or order confirmation number
  • Sender and recipient email addresses
  • Date the problem was discovered
  • Whether the redemption email or code was shared
  • Any unfamiliar email or payout notification

Also secure any email, PayPal, Venmo, or bank account that may have been compromised.

GiftRocket Payout Is Pending or Missing

A selected payout may take additional time to process or may fail because of incorrect information, account restrictions, identity verification, provider review, or technical problems.

Before contacting support:

  • Check the recipient’s email and spam folder.
  • Check PayPal or Venmo activity.
  • Review the bank account for a pending or completed ACH credit.
  • Confirm that the correct email or account information was entered.
  • Check for a message from GiftRocket or its redemption provider requesting action.
  • Save the redemption confirmation and date.

If the payout remains missing, contact GiftRocket support. When the redemption page or email specifically directs the recipient to Tremendous, follow the support instructions associated with that redemption as well.

GiftRocket and Tremendous

GiftRocket’s published terms state that gifts are provided pursuant to an agreement with Tremendous, LLC and may be subject to Tremendous recipient terms.

This does not mean that:

  • The suggested restaurant or store is affiliated with Tremendous
  • Every Tremendous reward is a GiftRocket
  • A Tremendous complaint should automatically be sent to GiftRocket
  • A GiftRocket merchant suggestion represents a merchant partnership

Begin with GiftRocket support for an existing GiftRocket. Contact Tremendous only when the redemption screen, reward email, or applicable recipient terms specifically direct you there.

Do GiftRockets Expire?

GiftRocket’s current public information is not fully consistent.

  • The current wind-down announcement says GiftRocket will continue supporting existing redemptions indefinitely.
  • The general terms last updated in June 2023 state that each gift expires five years after purchase.
  • Older gifts may have been issued under earlier agreements with different wording.

Recipients should redeem existing gifts promptly rather than waiting. When a gift is older than five years or the page displays an expiration error, contact support@giftrocket.com and ask for confirmation of the gift’s current status.

Keep the original email, purchase date, gift code, confirmation number, and any terms supplied with the gift.

GiftRocket Refund and Cancellation Requests

GiftRocket’s last published general terms state that a purchaser could cancel a gift until the earlier of:

  • 30 days after purchase, or
  • The recipient’s redemption.

After that point, cancellation, refund, transfer, or exchange is at GiftRocket’s discretion.

Because GiftRocket stopped accepting new purchases in January 2025, most current refund requests involve gifts outside the standard 30-day period.

How to Request a Refund

The purchaser should email support@giftrocket.com and include:

  • Order confirmation number
  • Purchaser’s email address
  • Recipient’s email address
  • Purchase date
  • Gift amount
  • Whether the gift was opened or redeemed
  • Reason for the request
  • The requested refund method

Do not assume that deleting the email, losing the printed gift, asking the suggested business for a refund, or disputing a gift with the recipient cancels the GiftRocket.

New or Unrecognized GiftRocket Charge After January 2025

GiftRocket says it stopped accepting new orders on January 1, 2025. A newly posted charge dated substantially after that date should be investigated promptly.

  1. Review the transaction date and posting date.
  2. Ask household members whether they recognize the purchase.
  3. Search email accounts for a GiftRocket receipt.
  4. Contact GiftRocket at support@giftrocket.com.
  5. Contact the card issuer or bank when the charge appears unauthorized.
  6. Preserve the statement, transaction reference, and correspondence.

Do not post the complete transaction number, account number, card number, billing address, or bank statement publicly.

GiftRocket Scam and Security Warning

Treat a GiftRocket code or redemption link like sensitive financial information.

Do not share it with:

  • A caller claiming to be a government agency
  • An employer who unexpectedly asks for gift cards
  • Technical support
  • A utility company threatening immediate disconnection
  • A prize or sweepstakes representative
  • A stranger offering to exchange it for cryptocurrency
  • A person requesting the code through social media

No legitimate government agency or business should require payment through a GiftRocket code.

Possible Phishing Warning Signs

  • A website address that imitates GiftRocket.com
  • An unexpected request for a password or one-time code
  • A demand to act immediately
  • A request to send a screenshot of the full gift code
  • A promise to increase the gift value after paying a fee
  • A request for remote access to a computer or phone
  • A payout form requesting an online-banking password

Use only the official GiftRocket website and contact information. If a code was shared with a suspected scammer, contact GiftRocket immediately and report the incident to the appropriate financial institution and law-enforcement or consumer-protection authority.

How to File a GiftRocket Complaint

Email is GiftRocket’s preferred complaint route. Send a concise description to support@giftrocket.com.

Include the Following

  • Order confirmation number
  • Purchaser and recipient email addresses
  • Purchase and attempted-redemption dates
  • Gift amount
  • Exact error message
  • Redemption option selected
  • Previous support contacts
  • Relevant screenshots with sensitive information covered
  • The specific resolution requested

Possible Requested Resolutions

  • Resend the original gift email
  • Correct the recipient email address
  • Restore access to a valid gift
  • Explain an expiration message
  • Investigate an already-redeemed status
  • Review a failed payout
  • Provide another available redemption option
  • Review a refund request
  • Correct or remove a business listing
  • Provide a written explanation of the decision

How to Escalate an Unresolved GiftRocket Complaint

  1. Email support first. GiftRocket recommends email as the fastest support route.
  2. Include the order information. A complaint without the confirmation number or associated email may be difficult to investigate.
  3. Allow reasonable response time. GiftRocket says most inquiries receive a response within one business day, but wind-down volume or investigation requirements may cause delays.
  4. Reply to the existing email thread. Keep the complete history together instead of opening multiple unrelated messages.
  5. Leave a voicemail. Call 1-800-443-8762 and include the associated email or confirmation number.
  6. Contact the redemption provider when directed. Follow Tremendous, PayPal, Venmo, bank, or merchant gift-card support instructions when that provider controls the failed step.
  7. Contact the payment provider for unauthorized activity. Do not wait beyond the bank or card issuer’s dispute deadline.
  8. Review the applicable terms. GiftRocket’s terms include dispute-resolution provisions that may affect formal claims.

GiftRocket Formal Dispute Terms

GiftRocket’s terms last updated in June 2023 contain a binding-arbitration provision, class-action waiver, and stated one-year deadline for initiating covered disputes after the facts underlying the claim are discovered.

The applicability or enforceability of these provisions can depend on the transaction, applicable law, date, and agreement governing the gift. Review the terms associated with the specific GiftRocket and consult an appropriate attorney for legal advice.

The mailing address contained in the terms is limited to a specific arbitration opt-out process. It should not be treated as GiftRocket’s general customer-service or refund address.

GiftRocket Company Information

  • Legal operator identified in current terms: GiftRocket, LLC
  • Entity type: Delaware limited liability company
  • Primary customer-support email: support@giftrocket.com
  • Customer-service voicemail: 1-800-443-8762
  • Redemption-service relationship: GiftRocket’s terms refer to an agreement with Tremendous, LLC
  • Current service status: No new orders; existing redemption support continues

GiftRocket’s current Contact page does not publish a general corporate mailing address. The former San Francisco mailing address should not be used unless GiftRocket reconfirms it.

GiftRocket Customer Service Reviews and Complaints

CustomerServiceNumbers.com currently shows GiftRocket with 1.0 out of 5 stars based on two reviews.

The reviews were submitted in December 2016 and January 2017, making them a very small historical sample rather than a current measurement of GiftRocket’s legacy redemption support.

The visible reviews concern:

  • A recipient reporting an unsupported-card or redemption-method error
  • The sender and recipient reporting difficulty receiving a support response
  • A restaurant representative objecting to a GiftRocket page that suggested the restaurant despite no direct relationship
  • Customer confusion about whether a GiftRocket was a merchant-issued gift certificate

GiftRocket’s official terms clarify that a suggested business is not necessarily affiliated with GiftRocket and may not have issued or agreed to accept the GiftRocket.

The two live reviews do not establish current patterns involving the 2025 wind-down, Tremendous redemption processing, PayPal, Venmo, ACH, refund decisions, or current support-response times.

This company is fraudulently selling gift certificates

December 15, 2016

This company is fraudulently selling gift certificates to my restaurant. The way I found out is because a lady called us because she had no received her gift certificate that she claimed to have purchased online with us. I informed her that our website does not accept online purchases. She directed me to Giftrocket website that she made the purchase on. I had no idea they had our information on their website nor do we honor any gift certificates other than our own.
