Kaspersky U.S. Support, UltraAV Transition and Removal Help

U.S. Kaspersky users may need help after discovering that their antivirus no longer updates, that UltraAV appeared on a computer, that a subscription is still renewing, or that an old Kaspersky telephone number no longer reaches the correct support department. Kaspersky remains active globally, but its covered antivirus and cybersecurity products are no longer sold, renewed, or updated for users in the United States.

Existing U.S. consumer accounts were transitioned to UltraAV after Kaspersky wound down its U.S. operation. Current billing, cancellation, refund, installation, and technical issues involving that transition should generally be directed to UltraAV rather than the former Kaspersky U.S. office.

Current Kaspersky and UltraAV Support Resources

No current U.S. Kaspersky consumer telephone number was verified. The former number, 1-866-328-5700, appears in older Kaspersky and partner materials but should not be treated as a current U.S. antivirus, billing, cancellation, or technical-support number.

UltraAV advertises 24-hour customer support, but a stable public telephone number suitable for publication could not be verified. Use the official UltraAV Support Center rather than a number found in an advertisement, pop-up, unsolicited email, or third-party directory.

Is Kaspersky Still Available in the United States?

Kaspersky remains an active global cybersecurity company, but its covered antivirus and cybersecurity products are no longer available for ordinary sale, renewal, distribution, or security updates in the United States.

The U.S. restrictions took effect in stages:

  • July 20, 2024: Kaspersky could no longer enter new covered antivirus or cybersecurity agreements with U.S. persons.
  • September 29, 2024: Kaspersky could no longer provide antivirus-signature updates, codebase updates, or Kaspersky Security Network service to covered U.S. users.
  • September 29, 2024: Resale, integration, and licensing of covered Kaspersky antivirus and cybersecurity software also became prohibited in the United States.

Kaspersky announced that it would wind down its U.S. operations and eliminate its U.S.-based positions. Its former Woburn, Massachusetts office should not be presented as an active U.S. headquarters or customer-support center.

What Happened to U.S. Kaspersky Customers?

Kaspersky arranged for U.S. consumer subscriptions to transition to UltraAV, a cybersecurity service associated with Pango Group and Point Wild.

Some customers may have seen:

  • UltraAV installed on a computer
  • Kaspersky removed or replaced
  • An UltraAV account created using the subscription email
  • Renewal or billing communications from UltraAV
  • New identity-protection or VPN features
  • A billing descriptor that no longer says Kaspersky

Do not assume that UltraAV is still managed by Kaspersky. UltraAV now controls its own software, account support, billing, cancellation, and refund decisions.

Who Should U.S. Customers Contact?

  • UltraAV subscription, renewal, billing, cancellation, or refund: Contact the UltraAV Support Center.
  • UltraAV installation or technical issue: Use UltraAV support.
  • Old Kaspersky installation or removal: Follow the U.S. Department of Commerce and CISA removal guidance.
  • My Kaspersky account or remaining account data: Use My Kaspersky or Kaspersky’s global support and privacy tools.
  • Kaspersky purchase made outside the United States: Use the Kaspersky support route for the country where the purchase was made.
  • Purchase made through Apple, Google, a retailer, internet provider, or reseller: Contact the company that processed the transaction.
  • Business or enterprise deployment: Coordinate with the organization’s IT and security teams and follow the official BIS and CISA guidance.
  • Unauthorized charge: Contact the billing company and the card issuer.

How to Identify a Kaspersky or UltraAV Charge

Before requesting a refund or disputing a payment, determine which company processed it.

Check:

  • The exact statement descriptor
  • The date and amount
  • Kaspersky and UltraAV account emails
  • Renewal or transition notices
  • Apple or Google subscription history
  • PayPal or digital-wallet activity
  • Retailer and reseller receipts
  • Other household members who may have purchased protection

A charge after the U.S. transition may be associated with UltraAV or another provider even if the original subscription began with Kaspersky.

Do not publicly post a complete bank statement, payment-card number, order number, subscription identifier, or account email.

How to Cancel an UltraAV Subscription

Removing UltraAV from a computer does not necessarily cancel the subscription or stop automatic renewal.

  1. Sign in to the UltraAV account connected to the original Kaspersky subscription.
  2. Review the plan, renewal date, and payment method.
  3. Look for a subscription-management or cancellation option.
  4. If no cancellation option appears, submit an UltraAV support request.
  5. State clearly that automatic renewal should be stopped.
  6. Ask whether the subscription remains active through the paid term.
  7. Ask whether any pending or completed charge is refundable.
  8. Save the cancellation confirmation and support ticket.
  9. Monitor the payment method for another renewal.

Do not rely only on uninstalling the software, deleting an account shortcut, or blocking the application through a firewall.

Did Kaspersky Stop Automatic Renewal?

Kaspersky stated that it was forced to stop renewing U.S. Kaspersky subscriptions. However, accounts transferred to UltraAV may have different renewal settings and terms.

Review both:

  • The final Kaspersky subscription status
  • The current UltraAV account and renewal status

Do not assume that Kaspersky’s stopped renewal means an UltraAV subscription is also canceled.

Kaspersky and UltraAV Refund Help

Refund eligibility depends on which company processed the transaction and the terms that apply to that payment.

Charge Processed by UltraAV

Contact UltraAV support and provide:

  • Account email
  • Charge date and amount
  • Billing descriptor
  • Last four digits of the payment method when requested securely
  • Reason for cancellation or refund
  • Previous support-ticket number

Older Kaspersky Charge

Use the original receipt to identify whether Kaspersky, an app store, retailer, reseller, or payment processor handled the order. Current U.S. antivirus support may be limited because Kaspersky’s U.S. operations were wound down.

Apple, Google, or Retailer Purchase

Use the refund and cancellation process of the seller that processed the transaction. Kaspersky or UltraAV may be unable to reverse a third-party charge.

Neither Kaspersky, UltraAV, an app store, nor a card issuer should be described as guaranteeing a refund. Approval depends on the transaction, timing, account history, policy, and applicable law.

Should U.S. Users Continue Using Kaspersky Antivirus?

U.S. Kaspersky antivirus installations no longer receive the antivirus-signature and codebase updates required for normal current protection.

Kaspersky’s own U.S. guide explains that unsupported installations may rely primarily on limited heuristic analysis rather than current signature data. Other functions may also be reduced or unavailable.

U.S. users should:

  1. Back up important files.
  2. Record the names of Kaspersky applications installed.
  3. Export needed password data before removing Password Manager.
  4. Confirm that another supported security product is ready.
  5. Follow the official removal instructions.
  6. Restart the device.
  7. Confirm that the old security drivers and browser extensions are removed.
  8. Install and update a currently supported security product.
  9. Run a full security scan.

Do not run two full real-time antivirus products simultaneously unless both vendors specifically support that configuration.

How to Remove Kaspersky Software

The U.S. Department of Commerce Kaspersky page links to CISA software-removal guides for individual and enterprise systems.

Windows

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Apps or Installed Apps.
  3. Locate each Kaspersky product.
  4. Select Uninstall.
  5. Follow the removal prompts.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. Check browsers for Kaspersky extensions.
  8. Confirm that Windows Security or another supported product is active.

Mac

  1. Use the Kaspersky application’s official uninstall tool when available.
  2. Do not simply drag the main application to Trash when background components remain.
  3. Restart the Mac.
  4. Check system extensions, login items, and browser extensions.
  5. Confirm that the replacement protection is updated.

Business Systems

Organizations should inventory:

  • Endpoint agents
  • Management servers
  • Security Center installations
  • Email and gateway products
  • Browser extensions
  • Mobile-device profiles
  • Virtual-machine images
  • Installation packages
  • Backup and recovery images

Enterprise removal should be planned and tested to avoid leaving systems temporarily unprotected.

Kaspersky Password Manager in the United States

Kaspersky stated that many Password Manager functions could continue operating, including creating, storing, and synchronizing passwords. However:

  • Password Check no longer reliably receives current compromised-password information.
  • The browser extension may no longer be available for download from extension stores.
  • Reinstallation on a new device may be difficult or unavailable.
  • Long-term support for U.S. users should not be assumed.

Before changing password managers:

  1. Verify access to the current password vault.
  2. Export data through an official supported process.
  3. Protect the exported file because it may contain unencrypted passwords.
  4. Import it into the replacement manager.
  5. Confirm that important accounts are present.
  6. Securely delete the export file.

Kaspersky Safe Kids in the United States

Kaspersky stated that many Safe Kids features could continue operating, but newly created websites and apps may not be categorized correctly without updated Kaspersky services.

Parents should:

  • Review the child’s device manually.
  • Check website and app permissions.
  • Confirm that location and activity features still work.
  • Do not assume that new content is automatically classified.
  • Consider moving to a currently supported parental-control service.

Kaspersky Safe Money and Browser Extensions

Safe Money no longer receives current updates for U.S. users. Certificate warnings or reduced protected-browser functionality may occur.

The Kaspersky Protection browser extension is also no longer available for new U.S. downloads through extension stores.

Do not ignore a browser certificate warning merely because it appears inside an old Kaspersky protected-browser window. Close the session and verify the site independently.

Business and Enterprise Kaspersky Support

The U.S. prohibition covers many Kaspersky antivirus and cybersecurity products and services used by businesses. Organizations should review the official product appendix and determine whether every installed Kaspersky component is covered.

Business customers should:

  • Inventory all Kaspersky software and licenses.
  • Review the official BIS determination.
  • Follow CISA’s enterprise removal guidance.
  • Identify management servers and deployment packages.
  • Select and test a supported replacement.
  • Preserve logs and incident records when required.
  • Remove old software and credentials.
  • Confirm that replacement endpoint protection is reporting correctly.
  • Update procurement, compliance, and security documentation.

Certain purely informational or educational threat-intelligence, training, consulting, and advisory services were excluded from the prohibition. This exception should not be interpreted as permission to continue using a covered Kaspersky antivirus product.

My Kaspersky Account and Data Requests

Some My Kaspersky functions may remain accessible even though U.S. product sales and updates have stopped.

Users may need the account to:

  • Review an old subscription
  • Confirm registered devices
  • Access Password Manager data
  • Review Safe Kids settings
  • Remove devices from the account
  • Submit a privacy request

For privacy questions, use Kaspersky’s official privacy-request page or email dpo@kaspersky.com.

Deleting a My Kaspersky account does not necessarily cancel an UltraAV subscription, reverse a previous payment, or remove software from every device.

Kaspersky Global Corporate Address

Kaspersky remains active internationally. Current official corporate materials identify:

AO Kaspersky Lab
39A/2 Leningradskoe Shosse
Moscow 125212
Russian Federation

This is a global corporate address. It is not a current U.S. customer-service center, software-return location, antivirus-update department, UltraAV billing office, or public walk-in technical-support facility.

Do not mail a computer, hard drive, activation code, password export, malware sample, payment information, or identity document to a corporate address unless official instructions specifically require it.

Fake Kaspersky Support and Renewal Scams

Scammers frequently impersonate antivirus companies through fake invoices, pop-ups, emails, text messages, search advertisements, and unsolicited telephone calls.

Warning signs include:

  • A large unexpected renewal invoice
  • A demand to call immediately to cancel
  • A request to install remote-access software
  • A request for gift cards, cryptocurrency, wire transfer, or cash
  • A request for a password or one-time security code
  • A caller claiming to be from the old Kaspersky U.S. office
  • A telephone number found only in a pop-up or sponsored search result
  • A promise of a refund that requires sending money first

Verify charges through the actual Kaspersky, UltraAV, app-store, retailer, or payment account rather than calling the number in an unexpected invoice.

If You Gave a Fake Support Agent Remote Access

  1. Disconnect the device from the internet.
  2. End the remote-access session.
  3. Uninstall remote-control software you did not intend to keep.
  4. Change important passwords from a different trusted device.
  5. Contact the bank or card issuer.
  6. Run a scan using a currently supported security product.
  7. Review email, payment, and financial accounts.
  8. Report fraud to the appropriate authorities.

How to Escalate a Kaspersky or UltraAV Complaint

  1. Identify whether the issue belongs to Kaspersky, UltraAV, an app store, a retailer, a reseller, or a payment processor.
  2. Gather the account email, charge date, amount, software name, device information, and prior case numbers.
  3. Use the official support route for the responsible company.
  4. Request a ticket or confirmation number.
  5. State the requested resolution clearly.
  6. Ask whether automatic renewal is disabled.
  7. Ask who currently controls the subscription and payment record.
  8. Save support chats, emails, account screenshots, and cancellation confirmation.
  9. Contact the payment provider for an unresolved or unauthorized transaction.
  10. Follow BIS and CISA guidance for software-removal or organizational security concerns.

Opening a complaint does not guarantee a refund, cancellation of a completed charge, reimbursement, restoration of Kaspersky updates, removal of UltraAV, recovery of lost data, or compensation for a cybersecurity incident.

Unwanted Kaspersky Renewal Messages and Pop-Ups

July 9, 2016

Kaspersky, We purchased our HP laptop at Best Buy, Jersey City, NJ 0n 1/8/16. We are senior citizens, unfamiliar with computer technology, and we were advised at time of purchase that Kaspersky would be our security for 6 months.. The 6 month term has now expired and we are being bombarded each day to renew our security. We Do Not Wish To Renew With Kaspersky !!!!! If the harassing messages don’t stop immediately, we will seek legal help and charge collusion against Kaspersky, Best Buy and HP! .Since the expiration, we now have annoying

pop ups on our screen We will not recommend Kaspersky to anyone, just the opposite, to be sure, indeed!
