HealthEquity Customer Service, HSA, FSA & Account Help

HealthEquity members may need help with an HSA, FSA, HRA, commuter benefit, healthcare debit card, reimbursement claim, contribution, tax form, investment, account login, WageWorks or EZ Receipts account, COBRA payment, or account closure. HealthEquity uses different customer-service numbers and online platforms depending on the type of benefit, so identifying the account involved is the best place to start.

HealthEquity HSA Customer Service

For Health Savings Account assistance, call:

1-866-346-5800

HealthEquity currently provides HSA Member Services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

HSA members commonly contact support about:

  • Account balances
  • Contributions
  • Employer deposits
  • Transfers and rollovers
  • Reimbursements
  • HealthEquity cards
  • Tax forms
  • Qualified medical expenses
  • Beneficiaries
  • Investments
  • Account fees
  • Closing or transferring an HSA

HealthEquity is an IRS-authorized non-bank trustee that acts as custodian for HealthEquity HSAs.

An HSA belongs to the account holder. Changing employers or health plans does not automatically eliminate an existing HSA balance.

2026 HealthEquity HSA Contribution Limits

Federal HSA contribution limits for 2026 are:

  • Individual coverage: $4,400
  • Family coverage: $8,750
  • Age 55 or older catch-up contribution: An additional $1,000

Contribution limits apply to the total eligible HSA contributions from all sources, including:

  • Employee payroll contributions
  • Employer contributions
  • Personal after-tax contributions
  • Other qualifying contributions

Transfers from one HSA custodian directly to another generally do not count toward the annual HSA contribution limit.

HSA eligibility and contribution rules are governed by federal tax law. HealthEquity does not provide tax or legal advice.

Missing HealthEquity HSA Contribution

If an expected employer contribution or payroll deduction does not appear:

  1. Review the Contribution History in HealthEquity.
  2. Compare the amount with the payroll statement.
  3. Confirm the employer actually transmitted the contribution.
  4. Check which tax year the contribution was assigned to.
  5. Contact the employer’s payroll or benefits department when appropriate.
  6. Call HealthEquity at 1-866-346-5800 if the employer confirms the money was sent.

Keep payroll records and contribution confirmations until the account balance and annual tax reporting are correct.

Transfer an HSA to HealthEquity

HealthEquity allows members to transfer an existing HSA from another custodian.

A trustee-to-trustee transfer can take eight weeks or longer, depending partly on how quickly the previous HSA custodian processes the request.

Once HealthEquity receives and processes transferred funds, it currently states that they are generally available within two business days.

A direct HSA transfer:

  • Does not count toward the annual HSA contribution limit.
  • Does not have the once-per-year restriction that applies to certain HSA rollovers.
  • Can be completed more than once per year.

An HSA rollover is different. With a rollover, the money is distributed to the account holder, who generally has 60 days to place it into another HSA to avoid possible tax consequences.

HealthEquity HSA Debit Card Help

HealthEquity provides eligible members with a Visa Health Account Card for qualified healthcare purchases.

Members can use the HealthEquity portal or mobile app to:

  • Activate an eligible card
  • View card status
  • Request a replacement card
  • Report a lost or stolen card
  • Review account transactions

For HSA card support, call:
1-866-346-5800

The HealthEquity Visa card is currently issued by The Bancorp Bank, N.A., Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa.

Lost or Stolen HealthEquity Card

If the HealthEquity card is lost or stolen:

  1. Sign in to the HealthEquity portal or mobile app.
  2. Report the card as lost or stolen.
  3. Request a replacement.
  4. Review recent transactions.
  5. Call Member Services promptly if a transaction was not authorized.

Reporting a lost card through the portal or app deactivates it so a replacement can be requested.

HealthEquity HSA Reimbursements

HSA members can pay eligible expenses directly with the HealthEquity card or pay personally and reimburse themselves from the HSA.

Reimbursement can generally be requested:

  • Online
  • Through the HealthEquity app
  • Through eligible electronic funds transfer
  • By reimbursement check

For a paper HSA reimbursement request, HealthEquity’s current form states that mailed checks should generally be allowed approximately 7 to 10 business days and that a $2 check fee applies.

Electronic reimbursement is generally faster and avoids the paper-check fee.

Keep receipts and other records supporting HSA distributions in case they are needed for tax purposes.

HealthEquity FSA Customer Service

For Flexible Spending Account support, call:

1-877-924-3967

FSA benefits are employer-sponsored, so deadlines, eligible expenses, carryovers, grace periods, claim-submission deadlines, and debit-card rules can differ from one employer’s plan to another.

Members should check their:

  • Plan documents
  • Benefit enrollment materials
  • HealthEquity account
  • Employer benefits department

before assuming a general FSA deadline applies.

Submit a HealthEquity FSA or HRA Claim

For an account managed on the HealthEquity platform:

  1. Sign in.
  2. Select Reimburse Me.
  3. Enter the claim information.
  4. Upload the receipt or required documentation.
  5. Submit the claim.

HealthEquity currently requires reimbursement documentation to show:

  • Patient’s name
  • Provider’s name
  • Date of service
  • Type of service or item
  • Cost

Certain expenses may also require a Letter of Medical Necessity.

Why Was My HealthEquity Claim Denied?

Many FSA and HRA claim problems involve incomplete documentation.

If a claim is denied:

  1. Open View Claims & Payments.
  2. Select the denied claim.
  3. Read the specific denial reason.
  4. Compare the documentation with HealthEquity’s requirements.
  5. Submit missing information when the claim can be corrected.

HealthEquity also provides a Reimbursement Account Claims Appeal form for eligible FSA and HRA claim disputes.

Do not submit the same claim repeatedly without first reviewing why it was denied.

HealthEquity HRA Help

A Health Reimbursement Arrangement is generally funded by an employer.

The employer’s plan controls:

  • Which expenses are eligible
  • Who can participate
  • How much money is available
  • When reimbursement can be requested
  • What documentation is necessary
  • Whether unused funds continue into another period

HealthEquity administers the account according to the employer’s plan.

If a HealthEquity representative says that an expense is excluded by the plan, the member may also need to contact the employer’s benefits administrator for clarification.

WageWorks Is Now Part of HealthEquity

Members searching for a WageWorks login should now look for EZ Receipts (formerly WageWorks).

HealthEquity currently maintains separate account experiences for:

  • HealthEquity
  • EZ Receipts, formerly WageWorks
  • COBRA/Direct Bill

These platforms can require separate usernames and registration.

If you previously used a WageWorks login:

  1. Go to the HealthEquity login page.
  2. Select EZ Receipts (formerly WageWorks).
  3. Use the registration or account-recovery process for that platform.

Do not assume your HealthEquity HSA username and password will work for an EZ Receipts account.

HealthEquity Login and Passkey Help

HealthEquity has transitioned members using its HealthEquity web and mobile experience to passkey authentication.

A passkey can use:

  • Face ID
  • Fingerprint authentication
  • Device PIN

HealthEquity states that passkey login is required for direct HealthEquity web and mobile access for applicable HSA and reimbursement-account members.

If login fails:

  • Use the correct HealthEquity or EZ Receipts login.
  • Confirm that the registered phone number is current.
  • Review HealthEquity’s Passkey Help Center.
  • Use Forgot Password when the account still uses a password-based route.
  • Contact Member Services when identity or account recovery cannot be completed.
Login Tip: If an old WageWorks bookmark no longer takes you to the expected account, start from HealthEquity’s official Login Help page and select EZ Receipts (formerly WageWorks). HealthEquity and EZ Receipts remain separate platforms.

HealthEquity HSA Tax Forms

HealthEquity provides HSA tax documents through the member portal.

Common forms include:

Form 1099-SA

Form 1099-SA reports distributions taken from the HSA during the tax year.

A member who did not take an HSA distribution generally will not receive a 1099-SA for that year.

Form 5498-SA

Form 5498-SA reports contributions made to the HSA.

This form is generally kept for the account holder’s records and is not ordinarily filed with the individual federal tax return.

Form 8889

Form 8889 is an IRS form used by the taxpayer to report HSA contributions and distributions.

HealthEquity does not prepare Form 8889 for the member.

To locate HealthEquity HSA tax forms:

  1. Sign in.
  2. Open Tax and Statements.
  3. Select the applicable tax year.
  4. Download the available form.

HealthEquity does not provide individual tax advice. Contact a qualified tax professional for questions about how distributions, contributions, excess contributions, or rollovers should be reported.

HealthEquity HSA Fees

HealthEquity HSA fees can vary by employer and health plan.

A monthly administration fee may apply.

HealthEquity instructs members to check:

  • The original welcome materials
  • The current account statement
  • The fee information in the member account

HealthEquity also states that the administration fee may change after the member leaves an employer or changes health plans.

Do not assume the fee arrangement provided while actively employed will continue after employment ends.

How to Close a HealthEquity HSA

HealthEquity currently allows HSA account holders to request closure through the online Support section.

Before closing:

  1. Stop future employer payroll contributions.
  2. Update the mailing address if necessary.
  3. Resolve outstanding card transactions.
  4. Liquidate all HSA investments.
  5. Open Support.
  6. Submit the HSA Closure Request form.

HealthEquity states that:

  • Closure requests can take up to approximately three weeks to process.
  • A five-business-day blackout period is used to allow outstanding transactions to settle.
  • A $25 account closure fee is currently deducted from the remaining balance.
  • Electronic transfer generally takes approximately 2 to 3 business days after the blackout period.
  • A mailed check generally takes approximately 7 to 10 business days after the blackout period.

The account holder may have 60 days to place distributed funds into another HSA when completing a qualifying rollover.

Review the tax consequences before requesting an HSA closure.

HealthEquity COBRA Customer Service

HealthEquity administers COBRA continuation benefits for participating employers.

For general COBRA and Direct Bill support, call:

1-877-722-2667

HealthEquity currently lists this number Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 7 PM Central Time.

COBRA participants can use the separate COBRA/Direct Bill portal to:

  • Elect eligible coverage
  • Review plan information
  • Check payment deadlines
  • Make premium payments
  • Review communications

COBRA uses a separate online account. Existing HealthEquity HSA credentials do not automatically provide access to the COBRA portal.

HealthEquity Direct Bill Support

Some HealthEquity Direct Bill accounts are also directed to:

1-844-341-6993

HealthEquity’s Direct Bill support information lists this team Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM Eastern Time.

Use the telephone number printed on your election notice or account communication when it differs from the general HealthEquity contact page.

HealthEquity COBRA Payments

COBRA participants should pay close attention to the due date shown on their election notice and online account.

After the initial COBRA payment period, monthly premiums are generally due at the beginning of each monthly coverage period with the applicable grace period required by the plan and federal rules.

Do not assume a late payment will be accepted after the final deadline.

If a payment deadline is approaching:

  • Check the COBRA portal.
  • Confirm the amount due.
  • Confirm the deadline.
  • Keep the payment confirmation.
  • Contact HealthEquity promptly if the account does not reflect a payment.

HealthEquity’s current COBRA/Direct Bill mailing address for applicable election forms and payments is:

HealthEquity
P.O. Box 14390
Lexington, KY 40512

Follow the address and instructions printed on your own COBRA notice when they differ.

Cancel HealthEquity COBRA Coverage

COBRA coverage is generally maintained month to month.

HealthEquity states that participants can request cancellation through the online message center or by submitting a written request.

Coverage can also terminate for nonpayment when the premium is not paid by the applicable deadline.

A voluntary cancellation generally cannot simply be reversed later.

Before canceling COBRA because you obtained another health plan, verify the effective date of the new coverage so you do not unintentionally create a gap.

HealthEquity Commuter Benefits

For commuter-benefit support, call:

1-877-924-3967

Commuter benefits can help eligible employees pay qualifying transportation or parking expenses using employer-sponsored benefit arrangements.

Plan features can include:

  • Transit benefits
  • Qualified parking
  • Commuter cards
  • Reimbursement

Employer plan rules determine available options.

Members who previously used WageWorks for commuter benefits may need the EZ Receipts platform.

Information to Have Before Contacting HealthEquity

  • Name on the account
  • HealthEquity member ID when available
  • Employer or benefits plan
  • Type of account: HSA, FSA, HRA, commuter, COBRA, or other benefit
  • Transaction or contribution date and amount
  • Claim date and requested reimbursement amount
  • Provider information
  • Last four digits of the HealthEquity card when relevant
  • Tax year for a tax-form question
  • COBRA election or payment deadline
  • Previous support case information
  • The specific resolution requested

Do not publish Social Security numbers, full HealthEquity account or card numbers, health records, medical diagnoses, receipts containing private information, tax documents, passwords, passkeys, one-time codes, bank information, or COBRA participant IDs in a public review.

How to Escalate an Unresolved HealthEquity Complaint

  1. Use the correct HealthEquity team. Call HSA Member Services at 1-866-346-5800, reimbursement-account support at 1-877-924-3967, or COBRA support at 1-877-722-2667.
  2. Identify the account and platform. Explain whether the problem involves HealthEquity, EZ Receipts, or COBRA/Direct Bill.
  3. Document the issue. Keep statements, claim records, receipts, tax forms, contribution history, payment confirmations, screenshots, and prior correspondence.
  4. State the requested resolution. Ask specifically for a claim review, contribution investigation, transaction correction, reimbursement, card replacement, tax-form correction, account transfer, or COBRA payment review.
  5. Use the formal appeal process when available. FSA and HRA claims can have a formal reimbursement-account appeal route.
  6. Contact the employer benefits administrator when the dispute involves plan terms. HealthEquity administers many benefits according to rules established by the employer’s plan.
  7. Consider an outside government resource when appropriate. Employer benefit rights may fall under the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration, while qualifying financial-product complaints may be submitted to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

U.S. Department of Labor Employee Benefits Help

For qualifying employer-sponsored health or retirement benefit concerns, the U.S. Department of Labor Employee Benefits Security Administration provides Benefits Advisors.

EBSA Benefits Advisor: 1-866-444-3272

EBSA can assist workers and families with questions about rights under employer benefit plans, including qualifying continuation-coverage and employee-benefit issues.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

For an eligible consumer financial-product complaint, visit the CFPB Consumer Complaint Portal.

The CFPB accepts complaints concerning several types of consumer financial products and can route a complaint to another agency when that agency is better suited to handle it.

  • The customer-service number or support route used
  • Whether a claim, appeal, or case was opened
