Holmes Customer Service: Phone, Warranty and Recall Help

If your Holmes fan, air purifier, humidifier, heater or heated bedding is not working, start with the support line for that product type. Holmes publishes separate numbers for home appliances, fans and bedding, so using the correct department can reduce transfers.

Fastest route: Call 1-800-546-5637 for air purifiers, humidifiers, heaters and other Holmes home appliances; 1-866-769-3166 for fans; or 1-888-472-5853 for Holmes bedding. Holmes publishes support hours of Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

How to Contact Holmes Customer Service

The older Shelton, Connecticut address previously shown on this page is not presented on the current Holmes support page as a customer-service mailing address. Do not mail a return, recalled product, proof of purchase or private information to an old directory address. Ask Holmes for written mailing or return instructions for your specific case.

Choose the Right Holmes Support Route

  • Air purifier, filter, humidifier or heater: Use the home-appliance line at 1-800-546-5637 or the official contact form.
  • Portable, table, tower, window or stand fan: Call the fan line at 1-866-769-3166.
  • Heated bedding: Call the bedding line at 1-888-472-5853.
  • Product question or use-and-care issue: Check the model-specific manual and Holmes FAQs before opening a case.
  • Defect or warranty claim: Keep the product, model label and proof of purchase, then contact the department that handles the product.
  • Out-of-warranty part: Holmes directs customers to its replacement-parts partner before using the general form for this type of request.
  • Retail order, delivery or return: If another retailer sold and shipped the item, begin with that retailer for its order and return process. Contact Holmes for product support or a possible manufacturer warranty issue.

Information to Have Before Contacting Holmes

  • Product type and full model number from the product label
  • Purchase date, retailer and proof of purchase
  • A short description of the problem and when it began
  • Photos of the product, model label and visible damage
  • Any troubleshooting steps already completed
  • Previous case number, representative name and promised follow-up date
  • The resolution requested, such as troubleshooting help, a warranty review, a replacement part or recall instructions

Holmes says a clear product photo can help its team assess a product concern. Its contact form accepts PDF, TXT, DOC, DOCX, JPG, PNG, JPEG and GIF files, subject to the size limits displayed on the form. Review every upload first and remove unrelated personal information.

Holmes Warranty, Registration and Replacement Parts

Warranty terms depend on the model. Holmes says fan limited warranties can vary from zero to ten years and require proof of purchase, so do not assume that every Holmes product has the same coverage. Check the warranty section of the manual supplied with the exact model.

Registration helps Holmes identify the product and purchase date, but keep the original receipt and warranty documentation. For a claim, ask what document, photo or product code is required, obtain a case number and save written confirmation of the decision.

Manuals and Troubleshooting

Holmes provides manuals for many current and older air purifiers, fans, humidifiers, heaters and related products. Match the complete model number, including any suffix, rather than relying only on the product name. The support FAQs are organized by product type and include care, use, troubleshooting and warranty topics.

Follow the model-specific manual before cleaning, opening or servicing an appliance. Holmes instructs users to unplug an air cleaner before moving it, cleaning it, opening the grille or changing filters, and not to operate an appliance with a damaged cord or plug. Do not wash a HEPA or carbon filter unless the manual for the exact product says it is washable.

Holmes Product Recalls and Urgent Safety Problems

Safety warning: Stop using a product that is smoking, sparking, overheating, giving off a burning odor or has a damaged cord. If it is safe to do so, turn it off and unplug it. For an active fire, electric shock, serious burn, breathing emergency or other immediate danger, call 911. Do not wait for a public-review response.

The current Holmes recall page lists specific heater and fan recalls, including certain HOH, HCH, HT and HFH models. A similar product name does not establish that an item is recalled; compare the complete model and production code with the official notice.

Some recall remedies have special verification, cord-disabling or mailing steps. Do not cut a cord, ship a product or send personal information until the official notice or a Holmes representative confirms that the exact model is eligible and tells you what to do.

How to Escalate a Holmes Complaint

  1. Confirm whether Holmes or the retailer is responsible for the issue.
  2. Call the correct product department or submit the official form.
  3. Explain the model, purchase date, symptom and requested resolution briefly.
  4. Ask for a case number and the expected response time.
  5. Save receipts, photos, emails and call notes.
  6. If the issue may involve a hazardous defect, stop using the product and check the official recall information.

Holmes Reviews and Complaints

CustomerServiceNumbers.com currently shows a rating of 3.3 out of 5 stars based on four reviews. The visible submissions are dated September 1, 2014; October 5, 2014; January 14, 2015; and March 24, 2015. Three are 3-star entries and one is a 4-star entry.

The submissions describe a fan that stopped working, a heater whose fan ran but no longer produced heat, a long humidifier-filter delivery estimate and advice about finding a replacement fan motor. One entry is advice containing an outside commercial link rather than a first-hand service experience. With only four old submissions, the page does not provide enough current evidence to claim broad or reliable complaint trends.

Protect your privacy: Do not post a home address, phone number, email address, order or case number, full receipt, payment information, product-registration login, complete serial number, medical details, or an unredacted product photo containing a shipping label or other private information. Describe the issue without naming individual support employees unnecessarily.

Holmes Disappointing Order Issue

January 14, 2015

Holmes, I ordered filters for my humidifier, because I didn’t want to drive 5 miles to the nearest WalMart store. Big mistake!!! I ordered them on the 9th, and they aren’t expected to arrive (via Fed Ex) until the 21st!!!!! I’ve been tracking them, and they sat at Fed Ex for days before going out, and now they are going all over the country. They are in Wisconsin now, on the 14th, and are expected to take another week to make it to Maine. I will never order anything again.
