Atari Customer Service, Orders, Warranty & Game Support

Atari customer service can help with Atari.com orders, returns, current games, downloads, Atari 2600+ and 7800+ hardware, Atari VCS products, controllers, warranty claims and other supported products. Atari currently handles most consumer support online rather than through a general customer-service phone number.

Quick contact: Use the official Atari Support portal or Atari Contact Us form for product, game and order assistance. For qualifying order and return issues, Atari also publishes support@atari.com. Atari’s current FAQ says its support team generally responds to order inquiries within 1-2 business days.

How to Contact Atari Customer Service

Atari does not currently publish a general U.S. consumer-support telephone number on its official support pages. Avoid old Atari phone numbers found on third-party websites unless they can be independently verified through Atari.

Best Atari Support Route by Issue

  • Atari 2600+, 7800+ or VCS technical problem: Start with Atari Hardware Support.
  • Current Atari game problem: Use the Games Support section and select the specific title.
  • Atari.com order: Use the Contact Us form or email support@atari.com.
  • Return or refund: Contact Atari first and obtain return authorization before shipping anything.
  • Hardware warranty: Open a support request and have proof of purchase available.
  • Third-party licensed Atari product: Contact the retailer, licensee or manufacturer when Atari directs you to that company.
  • Game purchased through another digital store: Use the digital platform that processed the transaction for purchase or refund problems.
  • Original Atari console or legacy game: Check Atari’s available documentation and community support resources because active support may no longer be offered.

Information to Have Before Contacting Atari

  • Atari.com order number
  • Exact product or game title
  • Hardware model
  • Serial number when applicable
  • Purchase date
  • Retailer or digital storefront
  • Proof of purchase
  • Exact error message or technical symptoms
  • Photos of damaged merchandise when relevant
  • Previous Atari support case information

Current Atari Hardware Support

Atari’s current support site provides direct first-party support for products including:

  • Atari 2600+
  • Atari 7800+
  • Atari VCS
  • VCS Modern Controller
  • VCS Classic Joystick
  • PC Mode USB Drive
  • Atari XP cartridges
  • Atari Speakerhats

Available troubleshooting depends on the exact product.

When opening a hardware case, include the exact model, symptoms and purchase information rather than simply describing the product as an “Atari console.”

Atari Legacy Console and Game Support

Atari has released hundreds of games and numerous hardware systems during its history.

The company says it cannot actively support every legacy game and console.

Owners looking for help with original Atari systems such as older Atari consoles, computers or cartridges may need to use:

  • Archived documentation
  • Atari community channels
  • Collector resources
  • Independent repair specialists

Do not assume current Atari hardware warranty or repair options apply to an original decades-old system.

Atari Game Support

Atari maintains separate support resources for currently supported games.

Use the Atari Games Support portal to determine whether Atari currently provides direct assistance for the title involved.

For a technical problem, provide:

  • Game title
  • Platform
  • Game version
  • Operating-system or console version
  • Exact error message
  • Steps that trigger the problem

Games Purchased From Steam, PlayStation, Xbox or Another Store

A game can be published by Atari but sold through another company’s digital storefront.

If a purchase was processed by a third-party digital platform, Atari says it generally cannot handle transaction troubleshooting or refunds for that storefront.

For an issue involving:

  • Purchase charge
  • Refund
  • Download entitlement
  • Store account

start with the platform that processed the purchase.

Atari can separately assist with supported technical problems involving the game itself.

Atari.com Returns

Atari currently allows eligible direct purchases to be returned within 30 days after receipt.

Qualifying merchandise generally must be:

  • Unused
  • Undamaged
  • In its original packaging

To start a return, email support@atari.com and provide the Atari.com order number.

Wait for Atari to confirm the return before mailing the product.

Customer-paid shipping charges from the original purchase are generally nonrefundable, and the customer normally pays return shipping unless Atari confirms the item was defective or damaged during shipment.

Atari Final Sale Products

Not every Atari.com item qualifies for a standard return.

Current Atari policy identifies certain products as Final Sale, including:

  • Selected limited-edition products
  • Made-to-order merchandise
  • Atari XP cartridges

Check the individual product page before purchasing a limited or collectible item.

Atari Refund Timing

After a qualifying return reaches Atari’s warehouse, Atari currently advises allowing up to approximately 10 business days for processing.

Approved refunds are returned to the original form of payment.

Keep:

  • Return confirmation
  • Shipping receipt
  • Carrier tracking
  • Order number

until the refund is complete.

Changing or Cancelling an Atari.com Order

If an Atari.com order needs to be changed or cancelled, contact Atari immediately.

Atari says it cannot change an order after the warehouse has processed it.

Certain preorder items can have stricter terms. Atari XP cartridge preorders, for example, may become final after the applicable preorder window closes.

Review the individual product terms before ordering a limited-release or preorder product.

Atari Hardware Warranty

Atari’s current first-party hardware warranty generally provides one year of limited warranty coverage for qualifying Atari-branded hardware and accessories.

Coverage is for defects in materials and workmanship when the product is used normally according to Atari’s published instructions.

Warranty service may require:

  • Proof of purchase
  • Product identification
  • Troubleshooting
  • Return of the product or part

Atari determines whether a particular defect qualifies for repair, replacement or another warranty remedy.

Products the Atari Warranty May Not Cover

Atari’s current warranty excludes or limits coverage in various circumstances.

Examples can include:

  • Accidental or cosmetic damage
  • Improper use
  • Unauthorized modification
  • Normal wear
  • Problems caused by incompatible third-party products
  • Software problems outside the hardware warranty
  • Atari-branded products sold by separate third-party licensees

Third-party licensed Atari merchandise may carry a warranty from the manufacturer or retailer rather than Atari itself.

Back Up Data Before Atari Hardware Service

Atari warns that storage on a product sent for warranty service may be erased, replaced or reformatted.

Before sending an Atari VCS or another device containing stored information:

  • Back up files where possible.
  • Save important settings.
  • Remove unrelated personal data.
  • Record account and software information needed for reinstallation.

Atari’s warranty does not promise recovery of programs, saved data or other information lost during service.

Repair warning: Do not mail hardware directly to Atari before receiving service instructions. Start through official Atari Support and follow the return or warranty procedure provided for the specific product.

Atari Corporate Information

Atari’s global parent company is Atari SA.

In July 2026, Atari completed its corporate redomiciliation from France to Luxembourg.

The current registered headquarters is:

Atari SA
8-10 avenue de la Gare
L-1610 Luxembourg
Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

Atari’s current U.S. hardware warranty separately lists business offices at:

Atari
286 Madison Avenue
New York, NY 10017

Atari’s official careers site also describes its New York operation as its New York headquarters.

Routine game, hardware, return and order questions should still begin through Atari Support rather than by mailing a corporate office.

How to Escalate an Atari Support Problem

  1. Start with the official Atari Support portal.
  2. Select whether the problem involves hardware, a game, gear or an order.
  3. Provide order, product and purchase information privately.
  4. Keep the Atari support-case information.
  5. Reply through the same case when following up.
  6. For a third-party product or storefront purchase, use the responsible retailer or platform when Atari does not control that transaction.
  7. Keep return tracking and written promises until the case is resolved.

Atari Reviews and Complaints

CustomerServiceNumbers.com currently displays an Atari rating of 3.0 out of 5 stars based on 3 reviews.

All three visible reviews are historical and date from 2014 and 2015.

A January 2015 reviewer says an Atari Flashback 5 would not work and reports difficulty finding a telephone number or website for assistance.

A November 2014 reviewer describes problems with RollerCoaster Tycoon 4, including rides that stopped functioning and frustration with a customer-support number available at that time.

Another November 2014 reviewer reports repeated RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 loading problems and unexpected changes occurring within the game.

These posts document historical technical and customer-support problems, but they are more than a decade old and should not be treated as a reliable measure of current Atari support.

What to Include in an Atari Review

Helpful reviews can describe:

  • Exact Atari product or game
  • Hardware or software problem
  • Atari.com order issue
  • Return or refund
  • Warranty claim
  • Support response time
  • Whether the problem was ultimately resolved

Privacy Warning for Atari Reviews

Do not publish your complete order number, product serial number, account credentials, home address, telephone number, email address, payment information or other sensitive personal information in a public review.

Crop identifying information from receipts, shipping labels and support screenshots before posting them publicly.

Provide purchase and product-identifying information privately through official Atari support channels.

Atari Annoying Issue

November 7, 2014

Atari, What’s up with Roller Coasters Tycoon 4? I have trouble loading it most of the time. Twice now I log on and stuff is changed around. My tattoo parlor turned into another Italian restaurant. Then I changed it back and had to wait for it to finish. Now my souvenir shop is another upgraded boutique hotel… Just gets annoying….
