GM Rewards Mastercard Customer Service, Support & Reviews

Need help with a GM Rewards Mastercard payment, declined transaction, lost card, unauthorized charge, account login or missing rewards points? The correct contact depends on whether the problem involves the Barclays credit-card account or the separate GM Rewards program.

Quick answer: Call Barclays GM Rewards Mastercard customer service at 1-800-261-4569 for credit-card account help. For GM Rewards points, redemptions or a GM Rewards Member Account, call 1-844-764-2665 or use GM Rewards chat.

GM Rewards Mastercard Customer Service Contacts

The card is issued by Barclays Bank Delaware, while General Motors administers the GM Rewards program. Mastercard supplies the payment network.

Choose Barclays or GM Rewards Support

Barclays handles the credit-card account. GM handles the rewards program. Using the correct department can prevent transfers and delays.

Contact Barclays For:

  • Payments, payment posting and account balances
  • Statements, interest charges, fees and credit limits
  • A declined transaction or blocked card
  • A lost, stolen or damaged GM Rewards Mastercard
  • Unauthorized transactions, fraud alerts and billing disputes
  • Account access through the Barclays website or mobile app

Contact GM Rewards For:

  • A missing GM Rewards points balance
  • Questions about earning or redeeming points
  • Linking the Mastercard to a GM Rewards Member Account
  • Merging more than one GM Rewards Member Account
  • Finding a GM Rewards Member number
  • Using points toward eligible GM products, services or financial-account balances
  • Accessing the Rewards Programs dashboard in GM My Account

GM Mastercard Issuer Change

The current GM Rewards Mastercard launched with Barclays in 2025. Existing consumer cardmembers received replacement Barclays cards during the transition from the prior Marcus by Goldman Sachs program.

Older GM Mastercard phone numbers, payment addresses, account portals and issuer information may no longer work. Do not mail a credit-card payment to GM Financial or a former card issuer merely because an old directory lists that address. Use the payment instructions on the current Barclays statement or authenticated Barclays account.

GM Financial is a separate company handling eligible GM vehicle loans and leases. It is not the issuer of the GM Rewards Mastercard.

Information To Gather Before Contacting Support

  • The last four digits of the GM Rewards Mastercard
  • The cardholder name and billing ZIP Code
  • The date, amount and merchant name for the transaction involved
  • The statement date and payment confirmation number
  • The GM Rewards Member number, when the issue involves points
  • The email address used for both Barclays and GM Rewards
  • Previous support case numbers and promised follow-up dates
Financial security warning: Never post a full card number, security code, PIN, password, Social Security number, bank information, account number, home address, phone number or one-time verification code in a public review. Barclays or GM may verify your identity through an official channel, but a legitimate representative should not ask you to reveal a password, PIN or one-time login code to an unexpected caller.

Lost or Stolen GM Rewards Mastercard

If the card is missing, lock or report it through the Barclays mobile app when possible and call 1-800-261-4569 promptly. Review recent transactions and tell Barclays about anything you do not recognize.

Do not wait for additional unauthorized charges. Review any mobile wallet containing the card and save the case number and replacement instructions.

Unauthorized Transactions and Billing Disputes

Contact Barclays promptly if a transaction is unfamiliar, duplicated, charged for the wrong amount or connected to merchandise or services that were not provided as agreed. Use the number on the back of the card or the GM-specific number above.

  1. Record the merchant name, transaction date and amount.
  2. Ask other authorized card users whether they recognize the purchase.
  3. Contact the merchant when the issue is a billing error that the merchant may correct.
  4. Contact Barclays when the charge is unauthorized or the merchant does not resolve it.
  5. Ask whether the card should be locked or replaced.
  6. Save dispute confirmations, receipts and correspondence.
  7. Respond to Barclays requests for additional information by the stated deadline.

Dispute procedures and deadlines depend on the type of transaction, account agreement and applicable law. Act promptly and rely on the current statement and Barclays instructions. This page is informational and is not financial or legal advice.

Declined GM Rewards Mastercard

A transaction may be declined because of a fraud alert, account restriction, credit availability, incorrect card information, merchant processing problem or card replacement. Barclays controls card-account approvals and restrictions.

Check the Barclays app for an alert, confirm that the card is active and verify that the merchant entered the information correctly. If the reason is not clear, call Barclays. Do not repeatedly submit a transaction after a fraud warning without first checking the account.

Payments, Statements and Account Access

Use the Barclays website or mobile app to view statements, make payments and manage the credit-card account. Follow the payment address and instructions shown on the current statement if paying by mail.

For a missing payment, have the date, amount and bank confirmation ready. Confirm its status before sending a duplicate payment.

If the account login does not work, use Barclays’ password-reset and account-recovery tools. Avoid opening a second account simply because an email address or username is not recognized.

Missing GM Rewards Points

GM’s support information says points earned through GM Rewards Mastercard spending normally appear after the card statement is issued. GM Rewards points are viewed in the Rewards Programs dashboard in GM My Account, while the credit-card statement and payment account remain with Barclays.

If points are missing:

  1. Confirm that the Barclays statement containing the purchase has closed.
  2. Verify that the email address on the Barclays card matches the GM My Account email.
  3. Sign in to GM My Account and review the Rewards Programs dashboard.
  4. Keep the purchase date, merchant and statement available.
  5. Contact GM Rewards at 1-844-764-2665 or use the chat widget.

For a disagreement involving whether a card purchase qualifies to earn points, start with the number on the back of the card. For the points balance, account linking or redemption, use GM Rewards support.

How To Escalate an Unresolved Complaint

  1. Contact the correct department—Barclays for the card account or GM for rewards.
  2. Request and save the support case number.
  3. Write down the date, representative and promised resolution.
  4. Ask for supervisor review when the first contact does not resolve the problem.
  5. Send documents only through the secure method Barclays or GM provides.
  6. For a serious unresolved credit-card servicing issue, review the formal complaint information provided by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or another appropriate regulator.

GM Mastercard Reviews and Complaints

At the time this page was reviewed, CustomerServiceNumbers.com displayed a 2.0 out of 5-star rating based on two reviews.

  • September 29, 2015 — 3 stars: The reviewer said the GM Mastercard could not be used and asked why.
  • August 9, 2014 — 1 star: A longtime Capital One GM Mastercard customer described a declined purchase while the customer’s spouse was traveling, a lengthy delay at the store and frustration after being told that travel notice was required.

Both reviews predate the 2025 Barclays program and concern legacy GM Mastercard servicing. They should not be treated as reviews of the current Barclays GM Rewards Mastercard. There are too few current reviews to identify present-day Barclays complaint trends.

Capital One sucks and when my wife is home I’ll get some other card.

August 9, 2014

Capital One Had a GM Master Card for 18 years with a $15000.00 line of credit. Within a week of receiving my bill, a check in full is in the mail. My 74-year-old wife had to fly to Michigan and got a $5.00 cup of coffee at Logan Airport. When she got to Michigan and went to a store to purchase $68.00 items, she was told they wouldn’t accept her card. For 45 min, she was in line until Capital One paid for her things. I called them tell them she has no cash with her. We do everything with our cards. Told me I have to tell them whenever we travel. Are you kidding me? Capital One sucks, and when my wife is home, I’ll get some other card.
