9/9/2015 Our Centurylink phone service has been out since Friday
Our phone service has been out since Friday 9/4/15. Cannot call due to there is so much static on the line that no one can hear me when I call. The website is a piece of crap...and the chat agents are not available when I am home from work. I have left 2 emails and no response. Can someone help me get the number for the FCC so that I can lodge a complaint? I have missed 3 very critical phone calls. This is unacceptable!

Request service for phone, internet and TV - CenturyLink
I contacted Centurylink on 07/31 to request service for phone, internet and TV. My installation date was scheduled for 08/04 the following Tuesday between the hours of 2:30pm-5:00 pm. I left work at 4:00 pm and contacted my son at home to see if the technician had arrived. He said no one has come to the house at all. So I contacted Centurylink to get an ETA on the technician, only then was I informed my order was currently on hold due to the technician supposedly coming out to my complex and realizing they were unable to provide the prism TV service. In which they send reps around in my complex and neighborhood to advertise and sign up new customers but okay. I spent over an hour on the phone with someone at Centurylink on 08/04, at the end of the call what was confirmed was that the technician claimed to have contacted my number but received no answer and that they would be mailing me a refund check, waive my deposit fee and overnight a modem to me for my internet service.

7/7/2015 Centurylink - We have phone and internet service in Florida
We have phone and internet service in Florida and Indiana. This past April, 2015, we called centurylink and asked to have our phone and internet service put on vacation and to turn on same in Indiana. We have been receiving full billing from Florida and Indiana. We finally called for the bill due in Florida on the 15th of July and they said they were sorry for the problem. They rebilled us for vacation in Florida. I asked if we would receive credit from over payments for the months of May and June. The answer was, since you already paid the bill, you have to call the Financial Department. We thought we were doing the right thing by paying our bills in full and on time. If not paid on time you get a late fee. What do you do? We just hung up. We will try another day, we are so frustrated.

kaytlyn cochran: i have already spoken to them who told me to speak with costumer service. they had a hard time locating my account but when they did said install guy to be here on the 13th but he was already here today

I've paid almost $200. over a week ago everything is ready except the due date has now changed extending it another week. sounds like its just a matter of changing the date in centrury link system. Why cant this be done?

kaytlyn cochran: I don't quite understand myself. all i know is ive paid $200.00 to have a guy come do an install that i have to wait an additional week to used. I know it not your fault, I do. kaytlyn cochran: im just frustrated. having to wait over 2 weeks is unacceptable. and if there wasn't an earlier date then why did someone come out supposedly a week early. that wouldn't make much sense. do they normally send them out a week earlier?

kaytlyn cochran: can you get a manager who can possibly use their authority to over ride a date change?

ASHLEY P. (20877): I'm letting you know that now (today) there aren't any earlier dates, there may have been earlier when you set up as we didn't have as many orders put in that time.

ASHLEY P. (20877): Unfortunately my manager has the same access as I do.

kaytlyn cochran: well your manager surely must have a manager above him who can. id like to be passed on up until i find a manager who has the authority

kaytlyn cochran: again i realize you aare not to blame. you are just doing what you can

ASHLEY P. (20877): No problem, but I do want to let you know that my manager is not going to be able to push back the due date as they use the Same Exact systems as I. I do apologize about your frustration with this and I understand how you feel.

kaytlyn cochran: i understand that your manager may not have access to change it however she/he must have a manager to. there must be someone who can go into system and activate it for me. I mean sure these systems can run themselves but a human must instruct it how to and when.

ASHLEY P. (20877): I understand but however, my manager is the only "higher up" in the building at this time. Her manager wouldn't even be able to change the due date. Your best luck would be with our Customer Service department as they have access to the systems that we don't have.

kaytlyn cochran: Well who am I speaking with? it says customer service on the top of the very window i am typing

1/22/2013 Centurylink - I called Century Link and Direct TV and set up tv
I called Century Link and Direct TV and set up tv and internet services. They told me my bill would be 98.00/mo. When I got my first bill it was over 180.00! I looked it over and they charged me for a phone line as well. They kept me on line for 40 minutes when I called to complain. They said they would remove the phone line and credit my account for $95.00. The next month I got a bill for 275.00 and a disconnect notice. I called again and ended up talking to three different people over a 2hr time frame. They finally told me they couldn't help me, it would take them 3 days to figure it out and they would call me back. A week later, they still hadn't called me back, I went ahead and paid the $180 so my services wouldn't be shut off. They called back and said they fixed the billing errors and contacted Direct TV with our service issues (also having major problems with our TV's and remotes!) GRR!! THEN I received yet another bill for the same 180.00 and another disconnect notice! Called Optimum and are having them set us up again! Called Century Link to disconnect and the Customer Service gal wouldn't listen to me, kept interrupting me, and yelled at me! To top it off, still have to pay the $200 to get out of their contract!

8/17/2012 CenturyLink seriuosly needs to STOP doing
CenturyLink seriuosly needs to STOP doing business! I called to set up internet on a Friday and they gave me problems because the call was disconnected after I gave my credit card information and no one called me back to complete my order. I called back and NOBODY could find me in the system (so they claimed) and when they finally did find me they said they couldnt complete my transaction without double charging my credit card! Then on Monday the technician claimed he came out and hooked up service but there was no internet so I called to see what happened and they said they made a mistake and only set up 1.5 speed for the internet instead of 1.7. So Wednesday the technician came back out and he called me himself and said to call and cancel my account because their system is not able to reach my apartments. AND he said its been an ongoing problem with my apartment complex SOOO WHY on earth would you try to sell me service when you know you cannot sell service in my area!!!! I tried to get my deposit back but they applied it to my "first month of service", and I didnt even have service with Centurylink! I want my money refunded now! and I am so close to telling AZCentral about this to warn people that Centurylink is a scam!! Shame on Centurylink! I called Cox right after I called to cancel my account with Centurylink and they (Cox)set up service like a piece of cake, and Ive been loving my internet service with Cox. I hope Centurylink goes out of business.
