Information to Have Ready Before Calling Ring

Preparing the following information can make it easier for Ring to locate your account and troubleshoot the problem:

  • The email address associated with your Ring account
  • The device name and model
  • The Ring.com or retailer order number
  • The purchase date and proof of purchase
  • The device serial number or MAC ID, if available
  • The exact error message shown in the Ring app
  • Your Ring plan and billing date, if the issue involves a subscription
  • The troubleshooting steps you have already completed

Generating a Ring Support Code

A Ring representative may ask you to generate a six-digit support code to verify your account. This code is different from a normal sign-in verification code.

  1. Open the Ring app and go to the main dashboard.
  2. Open Control Center.
  3. Select Support.
  4. Select Generate Code.
  5. Provide the code only to a verified Ring Customer Support representative.

Ring explains that the code gives the representative temporary access to limited account information needed for support. See Ring’s account-verification instructions for additional options.

Ring Returns and Refunds

Ring offers a 45-day refund period for eligible products purchased directly through Ring.com. The period begins when the order is delivered.

  • Eligible returns within the 45-day period have no return charge.
  • Ring.com order numbers beginning with 001 can normally be started through Ring’s online return process.
  • For order numbers beginning with 004 or bundled products, call 1-800-656-1918.
  • Ring says refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7–10 business days after the returned product is received.
  • Products purchased from Amazon or another retailer must be returned through that retailer.

Review the complete Ring shipping and return policy before mailing a product.

Ring Device Warranty

Eligible new and Certified Refurbished Ring devices purchased from Ring, Amazon, or an authorized reseller generally include a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under ordinary consumer use.

The warranty does not generally cover used devices, Amazon Warehouse used devices, accidents, misuse, unauthorized alterations, third-party repairs, or other external damage. Contact Ring before sending a device anywhere for warranty service and follow the representative’s return instructions.

Read the current Ring limited warranty for eligibility, exclusions, and available remedies.

Canceling a Ring Plan

Ring plans can be canceled through Ring.com:

  1. Sign in to your Ring account.
  2. Select Plan from the menu.
  3. Choose the plan you want to cancel.
  4. Confirm the cancellation.

Your plan and add-ons will stop at the end of the current billing period and will not renew. Ring states that subscription-cancellation refunds are unavailable unless required by applicable law.

Download any videos you want to keep before canceling. Ring says recorded videos will be lost when plan access ends and cannot be restored if you subscribe again later.

See Ring’s current cancellation instructions.
