Important CVA Safety Recall Notices
Check the official CVA recall page before using, transferring, repairing or selling an older or affected CVA firearm. Recall details and remedies can change, so verify the model and serial number directly with CVA.
CVA Paramount Recall
CVA currently has an immediate stop-use recall covering all Paramount, Paramount HTR, Paramount Pro and Paramount Pro V2 muzzleloading rifles from all production years.
Owners should stop using or firing an affected Paramount rifle and follow the instructions on CVA’s official recall page. If the firearm is currently loaded, do not improvise or rely on public comments. Follow the applicable owner’s manual and CVA’s official recall instructions or contact CVA customer service at 1-770-449-4687.
CVA Crossfire Recall
CVA also lists a voluntary recall for certain Crossfire rifles with Burnt Bronze Cerakote/Nitride barrels, including models CR3804NM and CR3804NSC. CVA says affected 2023 serial-number versions may qualify, while later serial-number versions may not be included.
Stop using a potentially affected Crossfire and contact CVA to verify the model, finish and serial number. Do not post the complete serial number publicly.
1995 and 1996 In-Line Rifle Recall
CVA continues to warn owners about certain older in-line rifles with serial numbers ending in -95 or -96. Owners should not use or allow anyone else to use an affected firearm and should call CVA for current recall instructions.

Information to Have Before Contacting CVA
- Exact CVA model and product type
- SKU or model number from the box or documentation
- Purchase date and original retailer or dealer
- Receipt or other proof of purchase
- Warranty-registration information
- A partial serial-number reference for initial communication
- Clear photos of the product and affected area
- Description of the problem without attempting unsafe testing
- Previous RMA, case or repair number
- Copies of prior support emails or dealer communication
- The requested resolution, such as inspection, repair, replacement or recall verification
CVA Limited Lifetime Warranty
CVA states that factory-finished firearms are covered against defects in workmanship or materials for the lifetime of the firearm when owned by the original consumer purchaser. CVA says the firearm must be registered online within 15 days of purchase and that warranty coverage is not transferable.
The warranty may provide repair or replacement for an eligible covered firearm or part. The customer may be responsible for transportation to the Repair Center, so confirm the current process before sending anything.
The warranty generally does not cover:
- Normal wear
- Metal or stock finish
- Rust or corrosion
- Careless handling
- Improper loading
- Neglect or improper maintenance
- Customer alterations or unauthorized work
- Damage to people, animals, vehicles, buildings or other property
CVA Repairs and Shipping Safety
Contact CVA before sending a firearm, barrel, receiver or other controlled component. Ask whether a Return Merchandise Authorization or other documentation is required and confirm the current shipping address and carrier instructions.
- Never ship a loaded firearm.
- Do not include powder, primers, ammunition or other hazardous materials unless CVA provides lawful written instructions.
- Follow all carrier rules and applicable federal, state and local requirements.
- Do not attempt a safety-related modification based only on a public comment, forum post or unverified video.
- Use a qualified gunsmith or other appropriate professional when CVA recommends outside service.
CVA Online Orders, Dealer Purchases and Returns
BPI Outdoors generally allows eligible unused accessories purchased from its online store to be returned within 30 days when they remain in the original packaging. Return shipping charges, restocking charges or exclusions may apply.
Firearm purchases and dealer transfers follow different rules. Inspect a new firearm before accepting it from the transferring dealer. If it appears damaged, contact CVA and leave it with the dealer while the replacement or refund process is reviewed.
If the purchase was made through Cabela’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, another dealer, a marketplace or an independent retailer, begin with that seller for order status, cancellation, return, refund or payment questions. CVA may be the correct route when the retailer identifies a manufacturing defect or warranty issue.
Older CVA Firearms and Pre-1999 Models
BPI Outdoors acquired the CVA brand in 1999. CVA says it may not have historical information or replacement parts for products manufactured before that acquisition.
For an older firearm, provide photographs of the markings and model information through a private official support channel. Do not publicly post the complete serial number, home address, license information or ownership documents.
Do not fire, disassemble, restore or modify an unfamiliar older firearm until it has been properly identified and inspected by an appropriate qualified professional.
CVA Customer Service Reviews and Complaints
CustomerServiceNumbers.com currently shows four visible CVA reviews, with a 3-out-of-5 overall rating. The reviews were posted between 2015 and 2018.
One reviewer asked for information about replacement fiber-optic sights. Two described difficulty reaching CVA by phone or email, including one inquiry concerning the older recall. Another requested information about an older firearm bearing Connecticut Valley Arms markings.
These older reviews are too limited to establish current complaint trends. Newer reviews can help readers understand present experiences with recall assistance, warranty claims, repairs, replacement parts and customer-service response.
