  1. Hotel booking misleading sales tactics!

    AGODA, together with Expedia, Booking.com, Hotel.com, ebookers and Trivago have been the subject of UK’s Competition and Markets Authority enforcement action due to “Serious Concerns” around certain practices such as pressure selling, misleading discount claims and hidden charges, which give a false impression of room’s popularity or not displaying the full cost of room upfront (Channel News Asia, 6 Feb 2019, https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/world/hotel-booking-sites-competition-investigation-expedia-agoda-11206980).

    I’m extremely disappointed with Agoda and felt cheated!!!
    I have recently booked 2 rooms (Four Points by Sheraton, Manado) for 16-22 Mar 2019 stay.

    1st room: Rp 8,319,684 + Rp 832,035 (service charge – not displayed upfront) for a total of Rp 9,152,719
    Or = S$888.8 (today’s rate)
    Against the current displayed cost of only S$656.64. MASSIVE DIFFERENCE!

    2nd room: Rp 5,765,484 + Rp Rp 576,250 (Service charge) for a total of Rp 6,341734, OR = S$ 616.
    Against the rate now of only S$455.04.
    HUGE DIFFERENCE!

    AND THESE ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

    I want to clarify but Now, The 24/7 customer support phone number of AGODA is nowhere to be found on Its website.

    I felt cheated! ?

  2. hi…i just book from your site this day 30th of january 2019..and i am still waiting for the conformation in my email add…
    i am thinking to re book another hotel but the site won’t let me because i had already book one..

  3. I booked a standard double room, an error in booking was for 1 person. Emailed Agoda regarding adding a second person. No reply. I contact hotel direct- they tell me a single room was booked in my name and it will be 25 euros a night to add a bed and extra person.
    I send my confirmation and highlight it is a double room.
    They tell me to go yo Agoda.
    I phone them. It is agreed that it is a standard double room I have booked. They will contact supplier. They try calling ??? I get a call back to be told no one answering but will email and i will hear back soon.
    Get an email today telling me the room has been booked as a single I have to pay the 50 euros and apply for a refund.
    No way!!!
    I expected a small charge for extra person but to be told that I paid for a standard double and getting a single.
    Agoda broke the contract!! They gave failed. There was an agreement made on purchase and Agoda did not stick to the contract.
    I have emailed them demanding action be taken within 24 hours or I will stir up trouble. I am so angry at the moment.
    This needs to be fixed. I am not being 50 euros out of pocket while I wait for a refund. .
    No thank you.
    I want this rectified to my satisfaction. The hotel has a double room available. I see it on other sites and even Agoda. The room is available. Get it sorted now.
    I will take it all over social media and beyond that Agoda break contracts.
    What a shocking service.
    Fix this now. Even if I was travelling alone I would still want the room I paid for. Thank goodness I found this out now and not on a trivial, because I would have been so angry at arrivial to hotel.

    AGAIN FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY.

    I had made a booking for 22nd December 2018 then I had to cancel it on 19th December 2018,but did not receive the refund yet.
    None of the given contact details works nor any reply on mails .
    Is this how your customer support works ?? It sucks , worst experience ever.

    1. Same today they booked twice for me and charged my money 3 times nobody reply the message or no contact number that real person speaking very upset and need my money back

  5. couldn’t t get my room…they only had single beds….had to cancel…was told it would cost one day booking…agoda took the full three days….now struggling to get my refund!!!!! help

  6. “please check my bill, coz i have been billed twice by agoda when i checked my statement of accounts from HSBC. The transaction last oct. 13, 2014 when i made a hotel reservation appeared in my statement of account twice with confirmation id 56703645 and 56703645 with the same amount and the same date. i called HSBC but i was informed that i must report it to agoda for corrections. thanks.

  7. Why my details booking not entered on Manage my booking account? Why ?? Can u check my booking id n why my booking details not get in Manage my booking in my account why so i can check my booking details and this is very important .Because when i booked hotel i already fill my email address and my email address is same address for my account in your site..please check n put my details booking hotel in manage my booking account.

    I already sent you email at contact us about this matter but until now not respon about this matter.

  8. CUSTOMER SERVICE AT AGODA IS A JOKE!

    How about you bring back search function based on price per night??? Not happy to go thru 100’s hotels not in my price range. Very frustrating and I will use another booking service if you dont restore the search via price feature. Other booking sites ALL have this feature, why did AGODA remove it??? I am trying to book for a hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia for 19 – 22 March, and the search via price feature is not there and I have to go through 100’s of hotels on multiple pages, which is a huge waste of my time. I used to be able to search your site based on price per night, but now I cannot. NOT HAPPY! I have sent several emails about this, and not had ONE genuine reply, only ever received automated replies. I have wasted money trying to call your customer service 24/7 line and no-one answers or asks you to leave a message that never gets returned. How about you employ some customer service people to actually talk to your customers????? NOT HAPPY!

    Please respond to my emails or phone messages. Go on, i dare you!
